Thanks for another great video. I loved hearing about the guild activities, seeing all the tatreez patterns, seeing your progress on your cross stitch (especially all the tiny stitching) and (!!) needlepoint projects, and hearing about plans. I'd love seeing any type of WIP parade you have in mind, and get inspired by your choice of colors and materials. It was also really fun to hang out on Zoom. Looking forward to the next one.

Ah Nati, thank you for these lovely comments. I appreciate you ❤ I'm hooked on tiny stitching now! I need to try out some surfine on 40 count.

I HAVE to look into that hemp fabric; what gorgeous colors! So nice to catch up with you as always, and especially to learn and find new resources 💜 Great report from the Guild, very excited to watch this new needlepoint journey, and I love those thrifted pieces. There really is something about them!

Treat yourself to some of that fabric Sarah, you'll love it! She's got some interesting colors, that's for sure!

I'd love to see a wip parade even a small one, but obviously only if it's not stressful.

Thanks Anita! I didn't quite get a WIP parade together but my next video (editing it now) will include some dragon pattern picks for the sal next year!

OMG! I'm finally looking at your work on the noche de muertos patter! It has been hard times lately, but that made me happy in the middle of everything else :) Thank you for always using your voice to teach us stuff!

Ale! Seeing you reminds me to pick up noche again. I know, things are rough now. Are you able to find time to wind down and relax? I hope so. What are you stitching on these days?

Hi Nitya! The needlepoint finds are amazing! Such treasures. I don't know much about needlepoint but I have seen screen printed canvas or hand painted canvas sold for needlepoint. Basically the image is painted on the canvas and you stitch on top of the image. Thanks for the video!!!

Hi Ana! Thanks for tuning in, I appreciate you so much! I think I've seen those printed canvases in shops. It's been fun to work on sample stitches, I'm getting the hang of it! Hope you've been finding some stitchy time over these holidays! Have a wonderful rest of 2023 and happy new year!

Kia ora well, I have only watched half but I have to comment otherwise I will forget. I have not been in the mood to video because of the attacks on Palestine. I know we continue to live but I have found it so hard. Watching you has helped me resolve to do it. I have to continue to find happiness in things like making. so thank you. So hard to know where to donate so for me it has been Doctors without Borders. They seem to go where there is real need. Thank you for talking about the hard stuff. I can see that it is not easy but it is so helpful. Aaaaanyway, I love the Mexican piece, but I really don't want to start anything. I will wait until at least half my projects are done. I must get on. Thank you for making this evening easier. will finish watching tomorrow. :) Catherine

Every day watching what's going on is so hard. I'm so grateful to anyone who's willing to talk about all of this and those who feel compelled to speak up, too. That gives me a bit of hope!

I totally get how you feel. The guilt is real. But I realized if I don’t add a bit of joy to my life I will drown myself in misery. Leaning on other community members has been great help. Love that Tatreez pattern. I just got that magazine and hopefully start it soon. Love that restart on Afshan Sampler. Yes the top row is Persian/ Farsi alphabet. That be a friend sampler is beautiful. Love all the changes you are making to it. And that fabric is amazing. I should definitely try it now that I stitch over 2. Can’t wait for our next zoom 😊 Thanks about all the talk about queer Muslims we are invisible unicorns😁 I just ordered the book. That Raven pattern is on my wishlist for sure. It’s beautiful

For more modern bookmarks, I would check out Lit Stitch. It’s checked out on Libby so I can’t confirm but it definitely had some patterns for banned books and bookmarks from my memory. I haven’t so much thought about my stash, but have talked to my mom about her scrapbooking horde and my dad’s stuff. I wonder if that Winter stitch and the Snowman one are Durene Jones? They feel like her style to me. Also s finishing class at a guild meeting using Sandra’s pièces feels like a lovely memorial

Hi Michelle! Oh thanks for the bookmark tip, I'll check that out. I'll poke around Durene Jones' patterns, too. I haven't looked much into them. I know she had a halloween ornament in one of the old Just Cross Stitch Halloween issues that looked fun. Hope you are getting some good stitchy time over the holidays! Happy stitching!

well, this was excellent. when you were saying that all the colour changes slow you down, pro tip from handquilters of yore (as read in Tracey Chevalier's novel, The last Runaway, you could thread all your colours at the beginning of your session, so that might mean 12 needles, but lets face it we all have tonnes of needles, then when a thread change comes, you park that thread with your needle and start with the next colour :) Hopefully that helps. I am going to watch all your links, of course.I love both your tapestry finds. very striking. Also, I think you do so well by your activism, if you want to reduce your new shopping for crafts, maybe you could focus on that Death stash (I know, shocking name) and donate to a charity, which I know you already do. That way you are getting quality materials and doing good. have a good month, can't wait to hear the new garden developments in the spring! Catherine

Ah thanks Catherine. Well you always give me lots to think about, too. I didn't realize that Tracy Chevalier wrote about needlework in her fiction. I'll check that out. I need to try the multiple needles trick and see how that does. I didn't look into the links- hopefully you were able to search their names and "TED talk" in RU-vid. I can't wait to hear more about your garden. Maybe you could do a Flosstube extra on that? No garden news here for another couple of months. Hope you are finding some quality crafty time these days.
