Always a pleasure to catch up with you and your beautiful stitching. I learn new things and feel inspired every time you post a stitchy video. I’d love to see your summer garden. Thank you for caring. Caring is tough, and sometimes (often, especially right now) hurts, but it’s so very important. You’re a lovely human, and I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to spend time with you here on Flossstube. Oh- and that fabric you’re stitching the vengeful tree on? Gorgeous. Extending the border to show off the fabric is brilliant.

@@booksandthemoon9746 Hi Meg! This is so sweet, thank you 🥰 Thank you for taking the time to visit and share your very kind thoughts with me, too! Caring is tough! Especially in the face of uncaring folks. It should be easier. I've been enjoying following your travels! Have you brought any stitching with you? Curious minds are dying to know 😂

Look at your bookmarks! 😍 Such a great idea for gift stitching. Hope your summer break is off to a relaxing start ❤️ White Winter Moth looks amazing! I love that you’re using very light teal for the lightest color. Yes to tree rage, stunning!

Always love to stop in and see your stitching and hear your thoughts. My summer garden is suffering, we have had a normal heat waves and a water ban so it is what it is this year. My spring flowers had a good show but my late bloomers aren’t thriving

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about that Eye of the Beholder pattern since I first saw it last week. Now I definitely need to start it ASAP! I love what you said about cultivating hope and taking action in the face of despair, I needed to hear that today ❤

@@go_off_grandma Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave these lovely comments! I feel very anxious about the time we're living in (maybe every time has been this anxiety inducing) and I feel like we will all have to help lift each other up in hope ❤️ I just started following you on IG, your recent strawberry stitch is so cute!

So many beautiful projects! For Dare Leng Dar the fabric is stunning and fits the pattern so well. I'm really intrigued by the Eye of the Beholder pattern, too. The designer is new to me and I'll have to look them up. I also love the tiny 1 over 1 stitching you've been doing!

@@gently_smiling_jaws Hi Danielle! Ah thanks! It makes it easy to finish when projects are so small. Now my MFE sal...🙄😁 that's another story! Yes! So it turns out that the Eye of the Beholder is based on a D & D character. I don't remember if I knew that at the time of recording. The tiny stitching has been fun. It sure requires good lighting! Off topic question - are you doing the Deadly Aquarium sal? I'm thinking of starting it and looking around to see who's working on it.

@@DaybreakStitchery I've been considering the Deadly Aquarium SAL but haven't gotten the pattern yet. Partially because I just started in on the Femurs and Fungi SAL (though I didn't start it until after the last part was released), and I'm going to do the Plants and Petrichor SAL once that starts, and there are a bunch of other things I'm planning to start. 😅 Will that ultimately stop me? Not necessarily... 😁

You’ve made such great progress on your projects! I would absolutely love to see a garden tour this year. Ours is starting to fill in nicely so far. The Carolyn Manning monarch piece is great too! She also has another one called Butterfly Weed (which is a variety of milkweed) that’s beautiful and I had bought it quite a while ago. I may start that one along with our SAL too. 🤭 And I would absolutely love to zoom sometime! How fun! Hope you have a good last week of school!

@@amy.k.graham Hi Amy!!! I'm getting my last few floss conversions together today then starting on one of my monarch projects. I read something recently that suggested to chop off the top half of milkweed because monarchs like fresh growth for laying eggs. Have you ever heard of that? Oh that Butterfly Weed is beautiful!!! I looked it up. I kind of prefer the CM patterns like that one and the recent prairie one that aren't the usual box / quilt ones. Oh and yes! Zoom is on the table! Let me know if you have some time this month! Happy monarch and summer stitching!

@@daniellebcraftingcorner Hi Danielle! I have saved up your recent update for my viewing today, can't wait. Have you picked your French studies back up? I can't recommend enough Astrid, a series on PBS. It's a cozy mystery and the main character is neurodivergent and the show does a good job of having us see the world through her eyes. Lots of conversational French used, too!

well, lovely to see you again. I am looking forward to seeing bits of your garden. lovely projects. I am keen to do something with the negative soace embroidered but my brain has a bit of a connipotion when I try, but both yours look so lovely! I have favourited a few shops for when I am ready to purchase something new. you are so right about fear and despair. I like that people talk about taking a day or two and regrouping and continuing to fight for justice and freedom. Unfortuntely the bad stuff and fear around gender and trans people also happens internationally, on the one hand here in NZ at least it's a time of great freedom and acceptance to be who you are and a time of great fear and politicians moving towards oppression. It's awful but also a great opportunity to wake up and be good allies. I hope you enjoy your lovely long summer. Although I miss seeing you monthly, at least we get lots of projects that you show. Oh and I loved your crochet blanket. Take care, Catherine

@@neatandknotbythesea9204 @neatandknotbythesea9204 Oh I definitely need to highlight stitches as I go, using a working copy of the pattern, when I do any negative stitching. Everyone I've been reading says that if it's within your means, take a break and pause and re-energize before continuing to witness and speak up. Summer has been lovely. I don't know that we've heard much about winter there in your Flosstube. Do you have anything that endures the winter in your garden?

@@DaybreakStitchery well it’s in the list. Trying to finish a few things. I can believe it but we are still harvesting from the garden. Carrots, kale, silverbeet and even 2 artichokes a couple of weeks ago and I can see two more coming. We still have some flowers, calendula and one or two roses. Even with our very hard frosts! C
