As a german the very most impressive thing is to have this factory standing that quickly and already manufactoring before it's even fully finished. we're not used to anything like that here
I assure you, neither are we Americans. Elon's companies are bringing back the standards we once had, before everything was turned to cold oatmeal by bureaucrats.
@@dansands8140 well but trust me when I tell you that German construction sites are standing there for years or even decades and barely anything changes.. It's actually insane here how bad this is
incredible sound design? from scratch? all the machines are automated… you film each one separately doing it’s thing and drag and drop the sound onto the drone footage lol
@@Andyblalock There is a little bit more work to it than just that. Plus it still takes a creative to pick and chose what sounds to bring in and I think they did well to create a cool vibe/ambience for the video.
@@Andyblalock haha that‘s really not how it works. Apart from the quickly changing perspectives, it obviously wasn’t possible in many cases to even record the sounds as you cannot just walk inside these machines. Also, there is a lot more creative decision-making involved that you might think. Best, one of the sound guys.
I have no idea why Tesla is so popular. The heart of Europe, Germany is a superior country when it comes to cars. There are elite brands such as Mercedes, Audi, Porsche in Germany.
@@ChibDibs … I gotchya. In case anyone is curious: Pilot: Ferdinand Wolf. Camera operator: Gabriel Manz. Company: Skynamic. They lost Zero drones going thru the presses. He replied a couple times in the top comment. Here’s a short glimpse they posted: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rpIuoxMSFeQ.html
I'm Tesla employee in Berlin and i was on our ceremonial day, i can say that i saw with my bare eyes the guy who is controlling the drone. He has some amazing skills, so this video is made by him and its not fake. Cheers!
@@apersunthathasaridiculousl1890 that's true, though it would probably cost more- CGI, especially photorealistic, especially full sequences can be quite expensive, not to mention time consuming- but yes since they basically have unlimited money it sure would've been doable
@@pianoman16 Tesla has never made a commercial or paid for any advertisement. All word of mouth. Elon believes the product should speak for itself. Now _that's_ how capitalism should be done.
@@pseudonymousbeing987 its just kinda crazy thinking of how tesla got the first hype of the cars They had customers / owners but did they just tell their friends to recommend the cars? What happened on the first place? Those are my least favorite questions cuz it wont get outta my head
@@ColaGangster1 seriously? It’s a paid ad, not a shitty Instagram page grabbing content from other pages that tags the creator to keep them happy. Majority of your professional ads don’t have credits, go look at any other vehicle manufacturer that has aerial shots for examples.
I’m astonished by how clean they keep these factories. You never see footage of whoever is cleaning this place but there must be an army of them detailing it constantly.
@@mindfieldproject No, it isn't. The Pilot is called Ferdinand Wolf. See here for BTS: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rpIuoxMSFeQ.html
The more Tesla pushes the boundaries, the more I see others pushing theirs. The pilot who flew that drone had incredible skills and I'm glad Tesla was open to having someone make such a cool behind the scene video using their talent.
So I don’t think it was manually flown, if you recall Elon released a drone just prior to him going into that dance routine he did at the opening ceremony at giga factory Berlin when they delivered the Tesla Model Y to the first owner, and so I think the drone was being flown autonomously over a predetermined route, and I would be very surprised if someone was flying it manually, now I’ve seen some guys in some of these videos that race these drones, and they’re very good at it, but that’s a little different type of flying, than when it comes to obstacle avoidance situations like we saw in that video, so it would take some extraordinary/exceptional drone flying skills to do that kinda flying, but I don’t have any evidence to the contrary so who knows! So I’ve tried flying some of these drones and I can tell you that they can easily get away from you, and the slightest mistake, in some situations, you could lose a very expensive drone, and it can happened so quick that you may not even understand what actually went wrong. So who knows, but I sure would like to know the answer to that question, as to whether or not it was manually flown or whether it was flown by a an AI computer! Cheers!
@@theodorehaskins3756 no bro it is manually flown. Inside plant buildings gps is not available. And flying autonomously in gps denied environments is difficult for a computer too. Only now drones are able to fly inside warehouses that too with supervision. This is 1000x complex environment than a warehouse. I think a guy with vr goggles flew it from outside under like strict supervision and all operator's holding their breath on that big red emergency button of press machine.
That's definitely manual flying as a robot would not be doing all the cool camera shots if it was on a pre determined route as it would just fly along the route set and not really do much, I think also this is probably done on something like a DJI fpv as some shots look too stable for a homemade drone
Sorry to blow your drone dreams... that was a hand held shot... look closely, its a walkway, with a door ... there are many hand held shots intercut with magnificent drone footage.
Let me say that Volvo Cars Ghent relies on supply from stamped parts from outside. I do think most car manufacturers work like Volvo: I work at the welding factory, and most of the metal pieces we put in the machine come from Sweden, or eastern european countries, some even from China. And some have shipping labels which imply that it is not made by a Volvo owned factory, but either a subsidiary or it is completely outsourced to another company. No wonder that Tesla has those huge margins. Stamping it themselves, evading the cost of profit margin of outsourcing and the cost of shipping.
@@hoedjeexplains3661 Then, could you explain me (excuse my language pls) why the f* would any company outsource it if they know very well that margin is going away with it. Like who in their right mind would do such i thing goes beyond me...
When the drone flying Skil is more impressive than the factory. Damn you pilot you are something. And not to mention the soothing bgm Keep up the good work
Damn, those camera paths look impossible even with a drone, yet all the footage seems to be real. I'd love to see a behind the scenes of how this was shot!
They probably just get an experience FPV drone operator, and tell all the employees to ignore the drone. Also, I did notice a cut about halfway into the video.
I don’t think they can as it’s considered national security tech. That’s why only US citizens can work at SpaceX. Either that or until Biden administration allows illegal immigrants to get jobs there😮
Sadly the US requires strict security when it comes to manufacturing secrets for all aerospace hardware. Technically you're allowed to see it if you're a US citizen but they're careful with video because disclosing secrets to foreigners will land you in prison.
It would be insane but they cant show a lot… as pretty much all of what they do is making a ballistic missile and therefore most of the footage that could be captured would be confidential… unfortunately…
Have you seen the bowling fpv video that went viral a while back? FPV (first person view) itself is really cool. It all comes down to the pilot, who probably impressed Elon to get approval for this.
the intense industrial rave music from the off screen video was better imho. go watch that if you have'nt yet. improves it vastly. this just sounds like some hipster elevator music
At least Ford's electric truck looks like a truck. Good luck stacking building materials in the Cybertruck with that flying D-pillar. You might be able to fit a couple of power tools back there. I guess you can always call a Ford or GMC to bring everything else.
0:17 This looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie! The level of ingenuity and engineering that was needed to produce an assembly line like that is absolutely astonishing!
I hope they credit the pilot/operator eventually. This person is wicked skilled. Absolutely next level stuff that I would never want to risk doing with my hardware if I could afford a drone good enough to get shots like these.
@@BlueBeluga_ There were several cut scenes, but I think they were just logistical. Like when the drone flew into the back of the car, but couldn't fly out of the front because the front windshield was already installed. They just cut to the next segment. Also, there were obviously many phases of assembly that were simply skipped. Probably because they were simply too tight to video. With the skill of the pilot flying through those heavy presses, I have no reason to believe the pilot would have any problems in the rest of the spaces. They had much more space to fly through.
@@danielwhyatt3278 Why do you seem to assume that it was made by a single "person"? The film was made by Skynamic, a company specialized in aerial filming
Rob Maur did a comparison on GM’s drone fly through in comparison to this and it’s evident Tesla is even light years ahead in drone video production 🤣.
It's the best manufacturer that I've ever seen! It's incredible work with processes, people management, getting all necessary car components from suppliers, and significant logistic between countries. I understand that I want to see it with my eyes! When you show excursion or short-time work (for managers) to show how it works inside! Please invite me ))))
Haha, surly this is not possible. And you are also surly not allowed to film during guided tour. What secrets do you expect? Black matter physics??? Its car industries.
Tesla opening up factory in Germany was strategic. Now they can hire experienced people from other car makers in Germany. There's always value when a vehicle is Made in Germany.
@@kampie88 But a german car manufactured in Germany has no greater value then outside… The comment claims manufacturing in German inherently provides value.
Experienced people?????....Like those that push a button? - Almost the entire factory is run by robots. All you see are humans looking at the car and drawling stuff on a whiteboard.
@@jasonkirkland1304 bro. Who do you think is programming, maintaining, and optimizing those robots? There is still an endless amount of work to do for people like programming and developing. What you see here is just less then a percent of what goes into building cars.
Others make an animation of the factory machines working. But here, they freaking fly a drone camera within it's clamping factory machines. Pretty damn dope!

We need a Documentary on how the Tesla Model Y is being build in Giga Berlin ASAP!!! We also need Tesla in Forza Horizon 5 with the Model S Plaid and Model 3 Performance.

@@benwojdyla2399 i think tesla makes every part inhouse, as opposed to other manufactuers. I think that cuts down on the costs longterm and saves them from having to rely on suppliers. (Other than materials). Thats what i remember to have heard, i could be wrong.
I'm a pretty good drone pilot myself but even I couldn't have flown this smoothly especially through those tight spaces around moving machinery. This is ridiculously impressive.
The scale and automation in this factory is mind blowing, and incredible drone piloting footage to boot. Tesla is so far ahead of the competition at this stage
@@mannem88 i worked in the oldest continually running assembly plant in NA for 8 years(CAP), can confirm this is nothing out of the ordinary aside from their giga-press(s). Just cleaner, because it's brand new.
There were a few cuts in there. Not taking away anything from the piloting though...that was crazy...especially the flying in between and inside the presses.
