Thank you good video. I just received my FlySky rm module for the mini z cars, now I can update the radio that has just been sitting in throw away all the junk plastic controllers that come with the mini Z's
I couldn’t get the model memories to pull up on the assistant. It’s supper buggy. Updated the radio, lost everything, and I’m hoping I didn’t accidentally downgrade because it looks different now. The screen looks like yours where as the font was alittle nicer before and it just had the bars on the bottom of the screen for the servos. Is that an older software?
hi, first of all thank you for the very informative video…. but just I quick question that I couldn’t seem to find in the flysky website; would I be able to do controller & receiver updates on a Mac? or at the least on a Mac running windows? or would have to be a PC running windows? Thanks a lot Sir!
Thank you brother for taking the time to make the video I have the controller updated but the new Flysky assistant for windows is a server based, all I get is a connecting to server circle, and it never does anything from there can you email me the older version you have or the Beta version not sure what it is
I only have the versions in the software links on my vids but I'm working with flysky on a new version that's much better and should be released soon ;)
Hi, does the firmware update fix the minor issue when binding in 1 way mode? When binding in 1 way mode it does not tell you it's successful when it is, like it does when binding in 2 way. Curious if they fixed that.
It won't ever tell you when binding in one way as the receiver does not confirm it's bound you just back out of binding that's how it supposed to work :)
Advice with update to .100 - I went ahead and updated the RX manually even though the TX did not suggest it. It did definately go through some sort of update, the TX took some time then said update was a success. I've had nothing but problems with my unit, now I'm worried I made things worse. You also mention that an RX update was not prompted in your video, and you did not update yours. However now I did, what do you think may happen? (Note that upon starting the TX F/W update it does warn of the new version being older than current - could this be because the RX was not supposed to be adjusted and now I've downgraded it?
It's always good practice to update the receiver firmware too even if it's not required there are updates to the receiver firmware with the new tx firmware so you shouldn't have any issues after you did it :) never seen any warning of older firmware though that's normal if you didn't put the receiver into update mode and then attempt to update it :)
Thanks for the video! However my computer can't even see the NB4 at all, tried different usb ports and different cables but no luck. Any advice? Thanks!
Make sure you have a data usb cable not a charge only cable and you can also try powering off the pc, connect the nb4 then select update mode after it's in update mode power on the pc :)
@@WTFRCCars Thanks for the quick reply! I’ve tried this several times as well with different cables (after watching your other video) and still no luck ☹️
Some PC's don't power down unless the power is switched off to them so may be worth trying that and connecting the nb4 powered on and in update mode before starting the pc back up, also take the bottom battery off and check all the terminals then replace it and try again :)
The FW update on my Win 10 machine does not see my NB4 currently on 2.0.85? The assistant 1.0 can see my NB4, but how do I get the FW update exe to see my radio?
85 is too only to see the new assistant v3.4 so you have to use the firmware update then select firmware update on your nb4 and it will detect it, may take a few attempts as you pc will have to install the driver for the update mode but won't show you it's installing anything cos windows is like that lol
@@WTFRCCars Got it. Had to put my NB4 in firmware update mode for the FW 2.0.100 update exe on my PC to see it and do the update. That seems to have worked.
I'm confused on how or why you used WinRAR. Is it to convert to zip? I really need to update this thing, it has never been updated. I'm nervous, and don't want to mess it up.
Good day to all, I need help I just bought a Flysky Noble 4 with MR005 for my Mini z Evo 030. The Noble 4 came with a newer version 2.0.100 that prevented me from binding my mini z with the new transmitter??? Anyone knows what to do now?
FCC is only legal in USA it's higher power but less battery life std works well and is legal anywhere and gives better battery life depends on your needs, I only ever run the std and have never needed more range
FYI: I just purchased a brand new Noble NB4 this past weekend ( Purchased date: November 26, 2022 ) and the firmware was already updated from Noble to 2.0.100.
Need help again, WTF!? Haha. Just getting deeper into using my NB4 and 2 different models both with FGR4S. Finding my range to be only 50-60 meters, even though I have the FCC .93 version installed in the transmitter. Can't understand it, it's horrible and useless. The only thing I find strange is that when I look on the transmitter for the F/W version it does not say FCC - but I remember seeing somewhere this is normal. It's not just the alarm (even though lowering it from 40% to 0% makes no difference as it still warns me at 40 anyways) but I actually loose control of the models. I don't get it, people are saying they are getting the spec distance of around 200m - what could possibly be wrong with mine? Any advice would be great, not sure if I should try another update to .100 just that I hate all that rebinding stuff.
First off yes definitely better running 2.0.100, but there are so many things that can affect RC distance, local interference is a big issue no matter what transmitter you run, also cheap servos or cheap esc/motors can be a big cause of interference in rc's what set up are you running, it's also worth making sure the antenna fin of the receivers are not close to carbon fibre or metal as both will act as an RF shield and block the signal :)
@@WTFRCCars I'd like to believe it's something I did, but frankly the configuration of the cars has not changed and it was fine last year - have not done any changes since. My buddy has the same servos and a cheap $70 controller system and has no issues, something has definately gone wrong. 2 of 3 buggies are nitro, there would be no motor or ESC interferance. I've since tested my EV car with FGR4 and confirmed only about 100m range before loosing control. Every model has somewhat different servos. I figure there is a transmitter failure of some kind, it's almost like it's electronically locked on the "range test" feature even though the feature has not been activated. Perhaps I can try a full reset, is there some method to reset other than the hidden service menu you mentioned in another video?
Yeh you can remove the top of the hand grip, you will see a small hole on the top right side and a button inside the hope, press the button and power on at the same time it should reset the transmitter.
Hi there, I have been fighting flysky for 1yr now with regards to this same symptom. 2 nitro buggies, 1 brushless . 2 different versions of RX between the 3 buggies - all identical problem so it's literally impossible that it's a defective model or RX. I had joined forums specifically to resolve this issue and even reached out here on this channel but kept getting the same form-answers: "reset, try this, try that, interference - bla bla bla" so I tried everything. Problem is that I never tested range when I first got my unit and I had upgraded to 0.93 FCC right when I took it out of the box. Never saw the need to update after that. Range is brutal, 100m is a pipe dream for me. I've tried everywhere to take into account interference, farms, fields, roads, mall parking lots - all identical results. Telemetry lost at 25-30m, model will continue to work until about 60-70m then completely looses connection. ((Noteworthy - no difference in performance when turning on the signal test function, I'm convinced either by software or hardware that the signal test function which reduces range is somehow on full time.)) Reception alarms start honking at 25m more or less. Now flysky has drawn out the process more than a year and the unit is out of warranty. I'm so angry, the thing is like an expensive paperweight. Flysky finally responded and asked me to try .100 FCC but it's winter here now, Christmas and I have no time. I've loaded it and now I have even more concerns - it does not request anywhere to update the RX but stupidly I did. This video mentions also that he did not bother to update the RX, but does this mean I was not supposed to? Now I'm really concerned as there is a warning at the beginning of the TX update saying I'm degrading the version - and I can only assume now since the TX F/W is a higher version - that perhaps the RX was a downgrade and I was not supposed to do this. Of course, no support and horrid instructions as all offshore stuff. I have no idea what I am going to experience when I finally get a chance to try it. Gave up with Flysky, takes them months to respond (when they decide they want to) and they don't read or understand English so questions don't get addressed 1st time anyways. I literally have 3 productive emails with them, spanning 9 months.
There are full instructions on the flysky site for updating the firmware and I have done many vids on how to do it and how to update the receivers :) you won't do any damage updating the receiver after a firmware update for the transmitter even if it's not required to make them bind you will still have benefits from updating all the receivers, as for range we have 3 nb4 and a noble pro and over 30 receivers all work fine over 200m range I also race with many of the guys running the nb4 and pro and none have any range issues, I would have a look and make sure the internal antenna is connected correctly I have vids on how to strip down the nb4/pro it's really easy to do and I suspect it's a connection problem with the antenna, not sure why you have issues contacting flysky I speak with them all the time! Hope this helps get to the bottom of your range issues I know these things can be a pain to find out what's the cause.
You need to get the antenna of the receivers above the water line or they won't work, radio waves don't travel through water so if you mount the receiver below the water line you will get bad range.
Hi friend After nb4 update new firmware, my Channel 1 keeps on 5% default (steering can’t get 0%, should be steering trim -20 in order to get 0% center point CH1) . Please advise🙏
Hi. Great video. I just updated my firmware. Thanks.. In your other videos you show how to change it from 4 channels to 8 or more. I do not have that option in my systems menu? Can you help me to how I should do?
Thanks for the video tutorial. but I need some advice. I downloaded the flysky assistant 3.0 and I'm able to connect to the TX. But i can't figure out why it won't load the TX model for me to back up my models. I get an error that says "The return datum from TX have not been received, waiting for timeout"
Do you know if FS offers any receiver with built in gyro for the noble? I find really hard to believe none of the standard ones come with gyro considering their price tag and can’t info about this
Not sure what you mean for the price both futaba and sanwa are £50 to £90 for the same spec receivers, as for gyro yes they do the INR4 and INR6 full stability control receivers for NB4 and Pro
@@WTFRCCars “for their price in comparison with cheaper models and cheaper rxs like their gt5 or the radiolink that cost half the price (both radio and rx), also this inr line was just released right? They can’t be found anywhere other than a couple of stores in the USA, but hey thanks for letting me know about these rxs.
Yeh the INR ain't been out long, You really can't compare a nb4 receiver to a radio link or one for the gt5 there a much more complex protocol and the receivers transmit back to the nb4 they also all do ibus/sbus and have a much faster polling rate ( number of times in a second that they refresh ) this is why they can run 1000hz servos :) also the enhanced ones can set different servo rates to each channel and work as matched pairs so 2 receivers on one model memory to add more channels so 1 to 4 on one and 5 to 8 on the second receiver.
The skin on my nb4 is one flysky gave me for doing all the guide vids for them I think it's their race colours but I've never found anyone who sells it.
Is memory backup only available on the NB4? I was hoping to be able to save/export settings on my g7p as well to make a clone second one and be able to share my cars when friends want to try, without having to rebind etc.
But you do have to re bind when you copy a memory as the receiver binds to the transmitter and the memory so the other transmitter won't work without binding
@@WTFRCCars Oh that's too bad - I was thinking the binding info was stored in memory. I'd gladly shell out an extra $50 ($70 including another RX) to have a controller a friend could borrow and I could keep in sync. You'd think they could do that...
@@WTFRCCars This is true - a valuable feature! I wish you could override it though. It's great only having one radio now, but now one can borrow it while I'm still driving.
i decided to update the firmware and it has been stuck at 17% for over an hour now. is this normal? I do not want to brick the RX by unplugging. PC and internet speed is not a factor as i have a high end pc and 50mb/sec connection and am using the supplied USB cable. The icon is spinning, slowly with stops, but the % has not increased for a long time and i do not want to leave the PC on forever in the hope it will work
What software are you using for the update the flysky updater or the assistant v3 software? Is doesn't take very long with either.

Hi! I update my nb4 according to this video. First backup my models, then updated to version 2.0.100, but i can't get old models back. It loads them into assistant 1.1 but i cant import them to nb4. Any ideas?
What stops it loading back to the nb4 what error do you get?

@@WTFRCCars Well i load old models to import and after that i cant do anything... I press on read button to read from tx, but nothing happens. after that everything i do i get message that i cant interrupt the process. Will post picture later.

I tried it again yesterday an dit worked :D Thank you for your videos on NB4 :D
can you help me i just downloaded to my nb4 2.0.100 it was successful i then went to update my fgr4s it will not take a update looked at the manual and went step by step still nothing i tried up dating other rx same results what do i do.i finally was able to download assintant so i did the update without the backup which i only had two models which i lost not a big deal any suggestions thank you steve
You need to put the receiver into update mode 1st before telling the nb4 to update them if you look through my playlist for the nb4 receivers you will find how to do it on each one
@@WTFRCCars by update mode is where you put the bind plug in the receiver covering the bind pin and ch4 pin i have done that sorry for being stupid on this its over my head and i watched your up date videos several of them i guess i am missing it
@@WTFRCCars yes sir still nothing i power up the receiver then i insert the plug 3 lights then a pause i go to RX set then update nothing happens i have tried it on two different rx nothing it was work great till i bought a new fgr4s and it wouldn't bind
@@WTFRCCars Thank you! I was hoping that an update would fix my problem... Sometimes when I turn it on there's just a blank black screen. I have to turn it off then on again to get the screen to work. Ever heard of this?
