You sound like you're smiling through a lot of your narration and it's really nice to listen to. I love watching you sew, and the videos where you show your muslin/fitting process have helped me figure out that that's where I get stuck- things don't fit right away and I don't know how to fix it so I give up. I love this series and your channel, love the exploration of older patterns and techniques.

The difference between mediocrity and excellence may be as little as 10%. Re-doing the pocket so that the stripes match, whilst only a little step in itself, takes the quality of the blouse to a whole new level.

This is the best visual explanation I’ve ever seen for bound buttonholes! I had a lightbulb moment watching you do it. Thank you for inadvertently teaching me this!

The magic you create with your sewing machine’s has inspired so many people me included! Keep up the good work! Would love to see where the Vogue sewing pattern cabinet landed! Hint, hint!

The pattern is lovely and your execution of it was great. I can now see why the bow was added to the design. I could totally see this style of shirt in a light pastel floral print with small or overly large flowers (with ivory buttons with gold accents for some reason lol) Hope you go at this again with the bow for a spring ensemble 😊

I totally agree with you about the pocket, it looks much better with the stripes matching. The only possible alternative would have been the pocket done across the stripes to match the collar and cuffs. Very nice blouse.

You are adorable and a pretty accomplished seamstress which is lovely and inspiring to see in your generation. I didn't read all the comments so I hope I don't repeat something that has already been mentioned, but I only saw one real inaccuracy: you didn't press your pants and blouse. Especially that front pleat down the leg of the pants. Pressing makes the fit look so sharp and was definitely period-accurate! Great job.

Thanks for showing how to do those backed button holes - I will be trying this out on a future project. I'm a super new sewer (although have worn and collected vintage for years, so I have an appreciation of construction) Really found it useful to see a different process of button holes on a 'historic' blouse! x

Ah! I loved this video, especially your humorous comments. When you cut the fabric I thought to myself - "isn't she going to fussy cut it?" and THEN later you said it bothered you and so you re-did it to match (both the pockets and the cuffs) LOL. we think the same way. And I think you would look like the pictures if you style your hair that way!

Miss Angela You Are every bit as pretty as Any movie star that ever was. Classic, poised, modest & charmingly beautiful. & It's just a thought, but, you know how many things, like undergarments & all the different pieces of wardrobe bits you've covered? well. There are some I've not noticed you address for example, The pretty blouse you made in this video, you might get more use out of, considering your tastes, if you make a few Detachable Collars, Scarves & Brown, Kacky and linen sashes, bows and vests. Although I am not of that era, My Penn. State Grandmother was 20-40 years old then & Along with the cute bits and pieces you do have like she, there are other things women used to almost "fool" one into thinking one had many more outfits than one actually had..lol And another thing too is that many Many ladies instead of wearing a lined garment were wearing Camisoles very much like the "tank tops" we wear today.. or I do anyhow under some things. Just a thought though not a criticizing correction. I was really just wondering if you'd thought of making pieces like the detachable collars and such.. Thank you for all your whit & charming blog/tutorials. I enjoy them thoroughly.

I applaud you for being able to follow the instructions and actually complete these vintage patterns. I attempted to make a 1940's 2 pc. swimsuit. Got the top completed but then when I got to the skirted bottom I got so confused at one point...I think I redid the sewing on the crotch area 4 times before I just finally gave up - I think there were several pieces of fabric coming together at this point and I just could not wrap my head around it...lol! One day I will revisit this project. I sooooooo wanted a 40's swimsuit! Really enjoying your videos. You have a wonderful ability to choose appropriate fabrics which I find most difficult to do and oftentimes this can either make or break your project! Keep up the good work.
