Thank you so much for the comment and YESSS, I just posted a longer process video today and I’m editing a full process video now (I’m 3 hours into editing haha 😂) Working on it!!! 😅🤩
@@lovelybylisa Yay! I meal prep as well so I know how much time and effort that goes into it. Nevermind having to film and edit! I was thinking how it would be a longer video... which are my favourite! Can't wait!
@@PureLace Haha thanks for the support!! Yes, you understand the time commitment! How long have you been meal prepping? It’s always worth it, but yes, filming and editing are a labor of love 😂 I’ll hopefully get faster as I continue !
@@PureLace As I edit further today- probably a silly question - is an hour too long for a "long video"?! I'm almost done editing and it's about 60 mins. Do you think I should cut it down? Thank you for your help and input 🥰
@@lovelybylisa I've been meal prepping for probably 12 years now on and off of course. I think 60 minutes is perfect! For me at least.. the videos that I usually watch are 45 - 75 minutes long.
I love this idea. I'm brand new to meal prep. How do you store them? Or do you give instructions on your blog or in your recipes? Keep doing great things. You are awesome ❤
Hi Sarah! Welcome to my channel and thank you for your kind comment!! I’m excited for you to try out meal prep because it’s made an incredible impact on my life (and the life of my clients)! I’ve got an intro to meal prep video on my channel but I’m happy to help answer any questions 😊 for storage, it really depends on the temp they’re stored at and what types of foods you make!! Let me know what other questions you have 🥰☺️
Thanks so much for the comment and question! Happy to share the link to the containers- they’re the best! Thank you so much, Mandi!! Yes, some of them are shared on my blog, I need to be more consistent with posting the recipes 😅 let me know if you see something you want the recipe for! 😊
Thanks so much for your kind comment! 🤩 I post some of the recipes on my blog, but I don’t cook using recipes and make things up as I go! I’m aiming to add more recipes in the future 🤗
Don’t certain meats/eggs only last a few days in the fridge? My worry is food poisoning. Confused when I see 5 days worth of stuff can you explain please?
Hi Thank you so much for the comment and your question! I get this question a lot! Safe food storage to mitigate bacterial growth is multifaceted ~ the length of time the food sat our to cool after cooking, the storage temperature of the food and the water content of the food itself. Freezing prepared food gives it a longer life and mitigates the risk of spoiling/bacteria. The US FDA recommendation is below 40* F. I like to keep my refrigerator colder, and I have it set to 34-36* F, and I don't recommend refrigerating meal prep for more than 4 days at that temp, after that I recommend freezing! Love the meal prep concept. How do you not get burned out on eating the same thing every day? I mean yes it varies week to week but 7 days of the same meal ? Just curious because I can’t seem to make myself !
Thank you so much for the kind comment and question! Honestly, I don’t hardly think about it anymore. 😅in my experience, it helps to only meal prep things you really enjoy and to switch it up drastically week to week. I try to change the flavor profile every week so it never feels like a repeat. Most days I’m excited to eat what I made 🥰
Yes!! I use this recipe every time > ru-vid.comT04HtYFDkQY?feature=share < and then I add in this cookies + cream protein > amzn.to/46t85D9 < I didn't use fruit in this one, but you totally could!
Hello and welcome to my channel! 🥰 Thank you so much for your comment and question! Food storage and safety to protect against bacteria has so much to do with the temperature food is stored at! I don't recommend more than a few days a time, unless you keep your fridge very, very cold! If you want to do a full week, I recommend freezing the last several days (days 4,5,6). 😆 Adding a link here for food storage tips, too! www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/are-you-storing-food-safely

Hi! Thanks for your question and comment! This is food for my husband and myself for one week! We are very active people 💪😊 And yes, same thing for one week then switch to something that tastes completely different! I don’t mind eating the same thing all week because it clears up mental space for me to think about so many other things! 😊
@@lovelybylisa That wouldn't be for me, I already don't like having to eat leftovers from the previous day the next day. I can't eat the same thing for seven days.
@@birgitp.6782 Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you figured out what works for you. Eating something different every day , whether it's meal prepped or "leftovers" is an incredible privilege. 👍

Hi Karen! Thanks for your question! I usually refrigerate half of them and freeze the rest! Safe food storage to protect against bacteria has so much to do with the temperature food is stored at and the water content of the food itself. The USA FDA recommendation is below 40* F. I personally like to keep my refrigerator colder, and I have it set to 34-36* F, and I don't recommend storing meal prep for more than 4 days at that temp. @lovelybylisa Thank you so much, Lisa. I have another question, let's say I prepared some food and it's very hot. Should I wait and let it cool down before I put it in the fridge or freezer? Or is it okay to store it in the fridge when it's still hot? Thanks 👍
@@karens1156 that’s a great question!! Definitely let it cool off before you put it away! Maybe 15~20 mins depending on how hot it was. If it’s a lot longer than that, bacteria will start to grow 🤪
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment and question! 🥰Adding the link here, I've used these for years, although they are certainly an investment up-front. amzn.to/3qKiCde
Thank you so much for your question and comment! I haven’t really done official calculations but we spend about $100 a week in groceries! Sometimes more sometimes less depending on if we’re restocking some pantry staples! 🤗
Hi! Thanks for the comment! It honestly doesn’t even phase us. The trade off is worth it to us - having nutrient dense food, saving money, saving time, saving mental space, cleaning the kitchen once a week… it works for us! 😆
Hey! Thanks for the comment! In my experience of cooking the pasta al-dente, it's completely fine! Also, if stored at a cold temp or frozen, it's not mushy at all 🤗
In a perfect world, yes! I would eat freshly prepared food every single meal, but to keep up with my busy life, I love meal prepping. The benefit of having healthy, home cooked meals already prepared far exceeds eating the same thing for a few days. I save so much time, money, energy, and save myself from decision fatigue and cleaning the kitchen every single day, I don't mind at all. Also, I change it up drastically from week to week, so it doesn't feel monotonous at all !
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment, I don’t speak German, but Google translate says you asked about food storage! @@rochellesantos4618Haha well I guess if they’re paying a private chef for different meals everyday, that does not surprise me! 😅 I’m only cooking for myself and my husband and I don’t have the bandwidth to come up with different meals everyday 😂
Hi! Thanks for the comment but I don’t tolerate any form of bullying or harassment on my channel. I have a master’s degree in public health nutrition and it’s not for anyone to judge if the amount of food consumed is appropriate person to person. The amount of food consumed depends upon health and fitness goals and is impacted by a number of factors. To answer your question, this is for two active adults, myself and my husband.

Food preparation is spot on...but that is WAY too much carbohydrate.. Way too much volume.. You wanna get healthy ?.. ditch all that & simplify your intake.
Hi Chris, welcome to my channel. Your comment is interesting because you didn’t ask how I define “health”, which makes your unsolicited advice about health oversimplified without context. I have a master’s in nutrition and nutritional epidemiology (nutrition related disease) so I also don’t take advice from un-credentialed folks on the internet. Your simplification of “intake” and reduced carbohydrate recommendation have nothing to do with the health goals of me or my family.

If you eat it for every meal, it’s pet food. Doesn’t matter how cute you dress it up, you’re basically eating like I feed my dogs. Same food everyday. What a waste of thumbs tbh.
