Ford dealers CAN'T SELL F150 trucks at these CRAZY prices. Let's see what's going on with Ford F150 trucks and why they have so much inventory they CAN'T SELL. I also found some new 2024 Ford Mustangs. #ford #f150 #trucks
@@johnrwizinsky7004 I love hearing stories about the old era of buying vehicles, it's absolutely wild how much of a difference has been made over the past nearly 3 decades
Based on inflation alone, a 1995 F150 costing $17,000 back then would be $31,000 today. Almost double the cost so it’s not too crazy if you could buy a base trim 2024 F150 for even say, $40,000. The ridiculous part is these F150s packaged out to over $90-100k. It’s still just a half ton truck and it still says Ford on it.
My son and I were at a Ford Dealership in California last week. They had 1 Ford F-150 Raptor R on the lot 2023 for $141,995 My son said he would rather buy a home in the Mid-West for that kind of money.
But he CAN'T get a home for that kind of money. An average crappy 850 sq ft house in TX with no garage starts at $200,000. You do NOT get a garage and the interior looks like something out of the 1970s with the fugly popcorn ceiling and a kitchen that was probably around long before LBJ kicked the bucket.
I spent $58,000 on my 2022 Ram Hemi last year and I thought that was crazy ….it was the cheapest option last year I could find for a full sized truck with a v8. But $100,000? That’s beyond crazy.
@@THX5000 Exactly. They have turned trucks into pimp wagons. All the techno BS is not needed in a truck. At least I don't need it. And yes thats what the whole NAFTA crap was about, to make things cheaper but it did that but they kept raising the prices anyways just to line the CEOs pockets because profits became super high. Let them eat their $135K trucks.
And has ford fixed the rusting from a while back?. Because they wanted to save some money n stuff, they stopped applying something to prevent rust, if i remember right
@@RLTtizME Should let the Manufacturer open their own dealerships or sell direct to the consumer then. Why do we have these Government Regulations stopping them selling this way? Sounds a bit Commie to me with the Government telling these businesses what they can do. Those who want these Regulations can go and start their dealerships in Russia and China.
Wrong with ford??? Lol that's the issue, no one blames the dumb ass who paid it!!! I don't blame the dealer at all.. Its the consumer that need their head examined 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's like crazy that the manufacturing companies are going into full bull whip effect and now prices are out of control and they still won't lower prices.
My dad paid like five grand in 1986 for a 1981 F2 50. I know I know inflation but he got over 300,000 miles out of the truck before he could no longer get it emission certified. I’m not convinced that any of these trucks will last anywhere near that without massive, massive bills for repair. Also shout out for the vent windows that I loved as a kid
That was called 2/60 air conditioning. It went along with the crank windows which never broke down. The good old days when stuff was far simpler, and affordable.@@tinymission7821
Adjusted for inflation that truck is 14,000 dollars today. So that just shows you how bad this is. Electronics and other mandatory bs plays a role in this and would double it to 28k but that’s not even close to what we see today. Criminal.
i know. guys there is no way ill buy a 35k truck. people will think im poor. ford. ok. we add 1 in front. ZOMG 135k truck im running in. people will know i have money now! now back to reality....
I'm no MBA, but it does seem to me that a business model of "It's not selling so let's raise the price" is kinda stupid, but apparently dealers are doing it. Maybe they like having 100K ornaments on their property.
Our dealership has 264 new F150s on our lot and we haven’t sold one in 92 days. We were advised to discount by Ford via a bulletin 15% off MSRP and people still aren’t buying them. Interest rates are killer and the overpricing is also killer.
15% on a 80% markup won't cut the mustard these days. Better tell your manager, 60% markdowns minimum, or i suggest look for a new gig. I could pay cash for a truck, but no way in H would i pay what F dealers want. About time dealers got the shaft, after past few years shafting customers.
@@wa210 There ain’t markup of 80%. We are now discounting 18% off of MSRP. Finally sold a F150 yesterday. Our banks/lenders are now requiring at least a 680 credit score for a new car and a 640 for used.
@@DeepDishPizzathe problem is the dealers along with the manufacturers absolutely screwed their customers the past few years and if you want to get our business back prices are gonna have to go way down and quality along with durability has to go up. 18% discount on a truck that’s probably 25k overpriced to begin with isn’t enticing people to buy
@@DeepDishPizza dude I make more in a year than 95% of your customers do. And if I’m gonna spend $1500 a month on a depreciating asset it’s gonna be something nicer than an old Ford pickup. Maybe instead of berating potential customers like you do about getting a better job you should look at the average income of a working class family and see that they can’t afford your trash product. If this is how you act at work no wonder your dealership can’t sell anything
Thank you so much for making these high priced videos. You are doing a great service to society as automobile costs in general continue to get totally out of hand. The makers and sellers are totally out of their minds.
Anybody who would consider paying these kind of prices needs their head examined. Especially for the kind of crap that they are building today. Nearly all of them are rolling piles of junk……😳😳😳🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@analyticalhabitrails9857 95+ recalls on 1 vehicle and the rest just as bad if not worse . You ain't even get three bedrooms All you're getting is the toilet
@@ImAyBeast It’s a little bit different with real estate. The value continually goes up . Cars and trucks go down in value the moment you drive it off the lot.
Used to have an 2003 Volkswagen and had a problem that only the dealership could take care of. (This was 2013) so while it was in the shop, I was wondering around the lot looking at the new models. Guy approached me and asked "You looking to buy?" I looked at him and said "If you saw the disaster your coworkers are fixing in your garage, you would know I don't have this kind of money." This video makes me realize just how important it is to take care of your vehicle yourself and make sure you make it last.
The problem is that bubble is NOT going to pop next year either. Look at the housing bubble. It's the worst I've seen in my lifetime. It just keeps climbing and climbing. A house in the city next door got relisted for $385,000. It's under 900 sq ft. When it first sold in 1994, it cost barely $185,000. I've seen inside that house and it is NOT worth aaaaaanywhere near $200,000.
I wouldn’t pay anymore than $20,000 for a non work truck. I would only pay more than that for a work truck if I was bringing in over six figures a year by using it.
Dealers will never be short of idiots to buy their trucks. People put themselves on a $1500-2000 a month payment like they will *ALWAYS* be employed and *NEVER* be laid off… so many repos now-a-days.
I am paying $1,200 a month by choice to get mine paid off in in 18 months. Still a year to go and let me just say IT SUCKS having this high of a truck payment. If I HAD to pay this for 6-8 years I would probably have a stroke.
Well, I’ve made it 6 months, so a year to go. I borrowed the money on a credit card (well 2 cards to be precise). The minimum payments on those 2 cards are only $180. I have zero interest until November 2024. At $1,200 a month it will be completely paid by then. If I were to fall short for any reason, I could reassess the situation and make adjustments. I honestly think I will fall a little short but overall I will be successful at my payment plan.
My vehicle is a 2020 Nissan Frontier SV Crew Cab 4x4. It has 19,000 miles on it right now. It’s easily worth what I owe on it and should last me many years with no issues or payments. I kept my last truck for 16 years. I paid for it in 9 months, so this one is taking a little longer.
Funny thing about ford is that Henry Ford was all about keeping things simple and affordable for the common man and today that concept is completely gone out of Ford and it's not just Ford it's all of them far as iam concerned they can stay on the lots
@@Baneslayer-Last year, I bought an '88 F150 x-cab 5-speed manual for $4,500 and my only payment now is insurance, registration, & whatever I choose to restore- on my schedule 🙂. She ain't pretty (yet) but I do throw animal feed, & deer, & whatever else into the bed & not worry a crap about a bump or scratch. The frame/undercarriage is in perfect shape & I just bought some undercoat to apply before 1st snow to keep that in good shape. The truck is an old biddy bioch some days but that's half the fun! From what I read it sounds like a lot of these newer trucks have problems, so it doesn't appear that we're missing out on much!
Corporate greed, mixed with the fact that fools will buy anything on credit as long as they think the monthly payment is manageable. With interest rates skyrocketing, these credit fools can no longer afford shiny new toy trucks.
I paid $20k in 2018 for a 2017 XLT 4wd 4 door with 8k miles. I just won’t buy another nearly-new truck/vehicle until this ridiculous bubble pops. And it most definitely will.
I started saving up for an F-150 before the pandemic hit, as soon as I began seeing the insane price mark ups, I gave up, bought myself a used vehicle...no longer attainable...
Very smart. I had a 2005 Lariat that had all kinds of issues. Hawked it for $1,500 w only 156k miles, as even my long time mechanic said it needed a new engine. Bought a 3 year leased Platinum loaded Pathfinder for 24k, only 23k miles. Have not even hit 62k on it yet in going on 5 years. Be smart and buy a well kept limited mileage leased vehicle IMO.
I bought a 23 Raptor at MSRP and love every minute of it. This is my 2nd Raptor. The trick is not being poor. That sounds harsh but its the truth. I can comfortably afford it and so can plenty of over people. Its the people that cant afford it making bad financial decisions are the ones regretting it.
@@StyfeLifeThat doesn’t make it a wise purchase. I bet you never even take it off pavement like all the other bozzos. You should have bought an old super duty and put a few grand in it on mods, I can run circles around one of those puffed up princess wagons and still have 40k left over.😂
It's absolutely ridiculous. Prices are out of control, and both dealers and manufacturers have priced the average hard-working American out of being able to buy a new truck these days. Very sad
10:40 -- Automatic transmissions in Mustangs are a blessing because Ford engineers cannot design a manual transmission to save their lives. Remember how Ford put cheap, junk, off the shelf Chinese manual transmissions in their top of the line Mustangs and the trannys blew up in less than 20K miles? How do you screw up a manual transmission?!?!
@@ge2623 Yep, glad my mustang was totaled. I was stupid and paid 50k for a 21 mustang 915$ a month. Totaled out and now I have a 2016 109k Volkswagen that cost me 13,500$ after taxes. Few dings at the top and back tint is bubbly but that’s it. Car payment is now 316$ and will be paid off in 4 years. Most likely I will pay 600-700 to pay it off early tho. Tired of that crap.
They're not moving them but also a lot of dealers are getting generous supplies of '24's coming into their inventory mixing with unsold '23's. Saw this with a TX Nissan dealership. First time in a while I finally saw them with a supply of trucks on their lot. So I picked up a '23 Frontier Pro4X with 5k off MSRP.
In 1976 I bought an F150 with two-tone paint, dual 20 gallon gas tanks, a 360 engine and a 4 speed transmission; 1st gear was granny low. I paid $5500 for it.
@@wileecoyote5749 Even in the real desert of west Texas things will eventually rust, might take a 100 years but they'll rust. At these prices those trucks may still be on the lot in 100 years.
Pretty cool hanging out with your Mom while doing a review. Plenty of father & Son teams that do automotive content but Mother & Son? You COULD be on to something! Keep up the great work guys!
I tried buying a USED 1-ton diesel dually two years ago, during COVID, and every one of them (all three big names) were asking right around $100,000 for a a truck with 100,000 miles on it. Mostly because you couldn’t get a new one at the time.
Shame to see all those nice looking vehicles head to the scrap heep, no one in their right mind would pay those kind of prices for metal and rubber. (personally speaking).
Looks like I will be driving my 2 toyota trucks for a very very long time. Combined payments is 524.00 and one will be payed off in 14 months. These new truck prices are just insane.
I absolutely despise black wheels, and huge ghetto wheels in general. I wouldn't even consider owning a vehicle with trash like that on it. I have a 1968 Ford F-250, 2 wheel drive, 2 door, 8 foot bed, 390/C6 truck, that came with 16.5" wheels, but because those are a hard size tire to find, I put 15" wheels on it, which allowed me to use tires with wider sidewalls to keep the same outside diameter. I love it. I will never get rid of it, even if it does get 8 mpg in town. I also have a 2003 V6 Mustang. I bought it used, in beautiful condition with 71,000 miles on it, in Zinc Yellow, but it had 16" wheels, which are not only ugly, but normal sized RWL tires won't fit. So I found a nice set of 15" wheels from a 2000 model V6 Mustang for it, and I was able to put some BF Goodrich Radial T/A RWL tires on it. None of my vehicles are loaded down with spy devices, and TRASH self driving technology that applies the brakes and turns the steering wheel by themselves. These things will actually take control of the vehicle away from the driver, and turn it over to a computer. Not only dangerous as hell, but do you really own the vehicle if you don't have control of it, and it is loaded with cameras and microphones watching and listening to everything you do and say, and send it out over the internet to who knows where? They can even be remotely shut down from a laptop or a phone.
High interest rates and high prices means not many are buying. Other channels report a rise in repos now too. Glad the wife and I own our vehicles now and don't NEED one. I'm waiting for the market to crash, then maybe pick up a $80,000 truck where it should be at $30,000 loaded.
I think these dealers and OEMs would rather go bankrupt than sell their cars for older pricing tiers. They plan to only service upper income people, it seems in my opinion.
@@ScrollTD They are definetley going that direction. Only 20% of Americans have more than $50K saved and 1/3 of all Americans have literally no money saved. They are really banking on the wealthy few to buy F150s.
@@robertbelardo7087 historically, correct. But in this ministry cycle it’s 3x the average. These OEMs will be bankrupt soon based on their shitty choices to service higher income citizens.
Who can afford that? I’ve been saying that for the last few years looking at the prices on these trucks I mean that is a mortgage payment. There is no way I would pay that much for a truck. And I have been to the dealerships and talked to the sales people and they try to convince you that that is a reasonable price. Unbelievable.
Another great informational video! If they keep a buying, they will keep a jacking the prices to ridiculous prices. About 20 years ago, in some markets, you could buy a house for these truck prices today! Oh yeah, autos on the Stangs are way better, they can shift faster than humans can. Unless you want the best anti-theft, get a manual, cause no one under 80 knows what the hell they are, nor can drive them.
My complaint is they got rid of manual in the base model, which means that you're stuck. The "trick" people used to do was to take the normal base model, drop on a supercharger or larger turbo kit and end up with a faster car than a base GT for about 5K less spent. Doubly so with the new GT at 50K+, since the only difference between the base and GT is the engine. So you pay 13K extra for the same vehicle with just a bigger engine. Or 8K for the upgrade kit. It's the largest markup in the entire industry percentage-wise for just an engine upgrade.
Pretty much seals the deal that I will never buy a new pickup again during my life. Rocking my 1999 Silverado I picked up for $2400 before the used market went bezerk, had to put a new engine in and a few other things, but I'm still under 10k invested and it runs like new.
You’re in my neck of the woods! AND at my former primary dealer… I usually swap out my truck regularly with lease deals, and bought 2 trucks outright from five star. These days, Forget it. They don’t even try to compete. Their trucks are absolutely outrageous. If you want to see some normal pricing, drive a bit farther to Town East Ford in Mesquite.
I always wanted a new truck. I wanted a full size truck until my dad explained how expensive it is for these contractors to fill up everyday a $120 a day at the gas station and that was just for the gas. Not even for the coffee. I bought a 2023 Chevy Colorado trail boss for $41000. My monthly payments are almost six hundred dollars and I bought The Colorado a few months ago before these massive my eagerness. I believe I made the right choice considering everything. I'm saying right now. These dealers have gone nuts
People need to stick together and stick it to these dealer and not buy anything new. Keep your current vehicles l, fix them, or buy used from a private seller and put some money in it if you have to but DO NOT BUY FROM THESE DEALERSHIPS! They need to learn consequences for taking advantage of the customers who made them and the manufacturers who they are today
The problem is fools like my parents will still buy them, thinking that the prices will always keep climbing. They've been yelling at me for a while to buy a new car but I refuse to listen. I can't afford one anyway. I'm struggling to save up for a house but I may never get to live that dream with housing prices up almost 75% in the last three years. For the first time in my life, I am truly worried that I will be homeless. Making less than $25k a year and homeless.
You are right. I drove by that dealership today on my way back from Sams on coit and I saw all those expensive trucks. My neighbor drives to Wichita Falls to buy a new truck every two years. He told me he saves up to $15,000 vs buying one in the DFW metroplex.
Did you notice that the hood on some of those trucks is about at your Mom's forehead height? Some experts have suggested the height of some new trucks is partially to blame for an increase in the rate of fatal vehicle/pedestrian deaths.
Typical government regulation unintended (or not?) Consequences. I'm fairly sure the reason that the reason trucks have evolved these enormous high hoods and grills is to meet government mandated pedestrian impact regulations.
Prices like these make absolutely no sense from any financial standpoint, if you cost average the price of that vehicle over it's estimated usable life, your going to be paying almost 20K per year to drive a truck!
Why stop at $135k Ford - why not $250k for a truck? They stopped producing $20k vehicles like the Maverick and Focus that most could afford, so they could sell these overpriced trucks and EVs, that few can afford. The sooner Ford goes bankrupt over this insanity, the better.
As a Ford F150 owner in Texas… yes, they are expensive. That’s not the deal breaker, it’s the after sales service that would keep me from buying another Ford.
and here i am still driving my 2001 buick regal gs.....and have no plans on ever getting rid of it! paid in full a decade ago and still goes strong without issue....unlike most of these new crap shoots that break down within a few months/miles of owning them HAHAHAH

My local Chevy dealer last weekend told me the new GM pay package would raise the new prices just $900.00 per vehicle. As if that"s the gospel truth. I said, how about $3000.00 per if its a penny. Anyone that buys one of these trucks isn't spending their own money.
If I had to guess. It's the baby boomer era of inheritance. This will be the biggest population of inheritance receivers. My landlord lives in his mom and dad's house drinking without working for 7 years, moms in a retirement home and he took out a third mortgage on his mom's house to buy a Harley and brand new truck. They raised the prices for that those freeloaders.
Thats what they want you to believe. The truth is, manufacturers could easily take on that 900 cost. There is no reason for them to raise prices. They were already making record profits.
@@jaimeramirez6407 The Union workers were already making more than enough money as well. They are just mouthy trash that could easily be replaced by machines.
Back in 1984 Tom Sellecks Ferrari 308 cost $54,000. Even adjusted for inflation today's pickups cost more than Magnums Ferrari did back then. Food for thought.
back in '08, I cut a check for a GMC 2500 SLT, Duramax crew cab long bed 4x4. I think I paid around $52K. It runs great (109k). I would consider selling it and purchasing another rig someday but with todays prices, it doesn't make financial sense to do so
I am glad I am in recovery from being a "car person" for most of my life. Seeing the content of videos like these really drives it home that I'm doing the right thing. I don't currently own a car, and I am not looking to forward to dropping the cash on one either. But, I know I will be happy spending just a few thousand for what I need.
I bought a used BMW years ago, I found the original window sticker in the glove box. WOW! I thought! , it cost $72K! I know there’s inflation, but even then it would not cover the cost of a Ford F~150 pickup today. Totally insane. 🤪
