Forza Motorsport is a Failure. 

"Built from the ground up" was clearly used as a marketing phrase by Turn 10 to help build up hype from fans in the run-up to the game's release...

Finally all the content creators are coming out and talking about this, the devs need the truth from the big names...

I'm so tired of devs lying to us. Good example: these fake trailers vs what product we get. They only made this statement because they got caught lying, and that's why they now decided to fix the game, not because they themselves felt like they did a mistake, there is no honesty anymore

I got scammed buying this game. The balls to add content without fixing the core problem.

How they managed to keep lying about built from ground up is amazing. If you want a true "built from ground up" racing game, it was GT Sport.

For me personally, the last Forza Motorsport game I enjoyed was FM6. I hated FM7's "Car Collector" progression, and its the same here with the upgrades in FM. What I would like to see is like FM4 where we had a "Personal Level"; rewarding us for driving in general and "Brand Affinity"; giving us cheaper upgrades for racing with specific brands, but adding in a "Car Level"; like Nick is saying, rewards for specific cars like invitational spec races with just that car in the field

They should bring back the track day sessions in multiplayer, i remember playing that on fm7 and i absolutely loved it, i was a little disappointed that it wasnt in this game but who knows, it could be added in the future.

It's a big shame to see how far downhill this franchise has gone and im so glad not only just players but now most content creators are talking about it. Forza has a lot of work to do and features to add. - weather radar because you can't be competitive and make stratagies if rain catches you off guard right after you pass the pit lane - a crew chief to help interior cam/hood view players to not crash into players - if they dont wanna get rid of the car progression system, they could at least make it so that it doesn't take an hour of driving to unlock very basic things.

Something else the game desperately needs is more game/race modes. Drag racing and drift events would definitely make players interested, and would also add more meat onto the bones of the campaign mode. Also, open practice should be it's own separate mode.

I think the car level points should be unlimited but for reaching a certain milestone of car level, you get a small credit bonus per race

I understand how a yearly release like Call of Duty will launch with bugs and whatnot because they only spent a year working on it. But this game had what, 5-6 years worth of "completely new and from the ground up" things and has thing bad of a launch MONTHS later. Yes I know covid was in that 5-6 year span for them but they still had plenty of time without heavy covid stuff to nail this game. Hell we even had a big delay like a month before the supposed release in like Q1 of 2023.

After Hoki's video it is nice to see other content creators come out videos about this. The community needs folks like nick and hoki letting forza know what we need as players..and that they need to do better.

Car progression at points is purely designed to extend play to benefit Game Pass subscription. I’ve already uninstalled it and I won’t be back till they remove it completely and if they don’t I’m fine with that.

The grinding is what killed it for me, as a 30+ yr old, I just want to login and race the cars I like, and not spend hours, and hours grinding like it's a full time job.

the ugrade system was built to ensure high player time in the game, you can take a character from lvl 1 to 100 in a reasonable time, but taking a car from 1 to 100 and there are 500 cars in the game is basically ensuring the game is alive and filled with player base for 5yrs. this is happening across the gaming world, not just racing games. its happening in board meetings at these studios where execs are obsessesed with hooking the player base for years like a drug addiction. sad state of gaming industry where profits matter more than anything else. even the enjoyment of players is an after thought.

Here’s where I’m currently at with this game. I finished up the update 3 spotlight championships early this week and I gotta say, I feel like I wasted my time throughout all of it. The only car that felt good to drive was the Valkyrie and when I heard what the Huayra R sounds like my heart sank. As of now I’m done with the game until they can make it worth playing again. I’ve already seen what’s to come in update 4 and it’s not worth grinding through for what you will be getting. I may not even pick this game back up until either Bathurst or the Nords is finally in the game. Even then I can’t say that I’ll stick around. Turn10 have no idea what they’re doing over there.

Other than fixing the bugs and glitches I personally think if they don’t give us two tracks per month, they should at least give us more cars the only other complaints I have about this game is the same complaints. I have about every racing game, better car, customization, better car choice and a rework to the sound of the entire game. I personally don’t feel like the locations and tracks echo as much as they should and cars are not as loud and definitely don’t sound like they’re real counterparts. So those are my biggest problems. I still don’t know why we don’t have the terminator cobra in the game. We need every generation Mustang, every generation Evo. Things like that is what I mean by choice why give us 95% of Ford mustangs, but leave it one of the most favourite by the entire car community worldwide. And then car customization it’s plain and simple more body kits, more bumpers, more visual upgrades

As a series vet this is what pissed me off.... 1. No in-game music 2. Odd frame rate changes in cinematics and janky animations 3. Stupid car progression system 4. Lack of car history and background of models and manufactures 5. Null penalty system 6. Lack of a system that rewards players for good driving such as specialty matchmaking

Forza veteran here, This game is more than broken. They are still using car models from the VERY FIRST Motorsport game, and bring back tracks that should have been in the game from launch, and the car level system sucks ass, this game is soo shit!!!

I think one way to fix the Car Leveling System is to give us the option to choose to level up the car as intended or if you have the credits to simply buy out the upgrades.

Imagine spending 6 years developing this game, only to end up with glitches, bugs, and just plain shittiness. It's Cyberpunk all over again

Been playing the game since launch - I'm fine with the concept of car leveling, but the way it is implemented makes it feel pretty pointless. It would be great if the cars from the builders cups could be used in other races, rival challenges, or apply directly to a multiplayer event, but they often don't. The cars just sit in my garage, and then I have to grind and level up more cars for the next series of events. Also not having all the builders cup campaigns unlocked means I have no options to level up the cars I actually want to level up, and that feels pretty dumb.

I really hope that they make the graphics look like the trailer. I remember being super hyped about this game, and when it came out it was just “meh”

My big issue now that the upgrades have been implemented is that they are forcing content into multiplayer more than single player. I shouldn't have say 5 hours of single player content and 80+ in multiplayer. I can't stand how it feels like everyone focuses only on multiplayer only

I will say the mad inconsistency on the AI speed is annoying. One level your beating them by 20 secs and you increase the AI level by a level and they run away from you. Maybe it’s just me but that is something I would like to see fixed

i could see them do the upgrade system be class based like if you have a gt class and drive that you level up the entire class insted of one car from that class so we dont have to repeat

Assetto Corsa is not competing with Motorsport, motorsport is already a dead game while Assetto has been slowly growing for years.

AI used to be really good, it got worse. Upgrading and customizing cars used to be fun, it got worse. The Auction House was 50% of the reason I played the game....That is gone. They literally removed all the fun stuff and gave us stuff nobody wants. Microsoft can't manage a studio properly....Can't get out of their own way.

My only issue with the game was the uogdade system. Grinding got hours just to upgrade 1 car is ridiculous. Id be happy sith solutions you suggested. Hopefully they change it cuz i havent played it since its comd out

1. Locking cars behind online (as cars you get as rewards are only usable online) 2. No offline playability (no splitscreen, career) 3. Road and Race cars missing from FM7 (yes dlc,truck,offroad make sense but a lot of base game cars dont make sense to be missing)

My unpopular opinion is that the leveling system isn't that bad. I genuinely kind of enjoy the whole "CaRPG" aspect. If it were to change, I hope that maybe that system would be moved towards manufacturers instead of lone cars

I'm surprised they're not talking about the fact that every car has either too much oversteer or too much understeer. That or the fact that some cars have nothing up understeer then randomly has snap oversteer with no cause. The thing that has me the most is the lack of consistency with handling and how uncontrollable some cars can be.

The upgade system isn't even worth the grind. The upgrades are terrible. No wheel spacers, no changeable exhaust tips or sounds. Same horrible reused "Forza aero." This whole game is year's behind GT7. Even in graphics mode, it somehow looks worse than FH5.

I’m glad I haven’t bought this game yet. I’m gonna wait at least until 2025 to see if Turn 10 really fixes everything for FM. I really want to see them succeed with this game in the future, but for now, they have a lot work to do.

We he says at the PS4 reveal in 2013 that the PS4 will bring a simpler architecture will be the opportunity to start everything back from a new-canvas. And due to the lack of content for a new GT REALLY built from the ground-up they've focus mainly on the E-sport with the Gran Turismo World Series approved by the FIA laying the foundation of the future e-sport in racing games an going to find talents beyond on what was the GT Academy project. Then GT7 came with a seamless upgrade on PS5 of all the car models due to the same architecture on consoles and now they're building an entire new-generation AI with GT Sophy that will lay a new foundation for an entirely new B-spec for GT8 that will be like anything we've ever seen on GT4, 5 and 6. That's how Polyphony's works on a long-term ongoing process that makes Gran Turismo so special over the years.

I like the car upgrade system you were talking about get the car points for that particular category I think that would work really great instead of just getting locked in with that one car

I bought this disaster of a game and played it for 2 wasted weeks of my life, the car models are so old and crap and the customization even by racing game standards is laughable, I bought it, played it and said “wow, that it!?” I’ve been boycotting playing the game ever since

the fact that the r34 + Barcelona track looked like it came out of a game from 2010 is just fucking embarrassing. couple that with the extremely poor FPS i was getting (had to go into my mobo bios and disable ReBAR to fix the 60 -> 30fps drops on my 6900XT). dont get me started on the low quality interiors of some cars too. the dynamic scaling you cant turn off causing cars to also blur while also being PS3 quality boggles the mind. assetto corsa visually shitting on a brand new game should have been a huge red flag.

I knew things were bad when FH5 came out, and the game dried up within the first 4 months of release. But I had no idea it was going to taint Motorsport, too. Goodbye, Forza. I think I'm done with the franchise now.

I just don't see the purpose of over-complicating things. Just give me all the car upgrades,and i race to make money to buy the upgrades like in fh5. Simple.

I have an idea, what if they can fix the car points and also the ramming issue. By rewarding the player “more car points” at the end if each match for being a better sport. That is hitting 2 stone 1 bird. Rammers will be penalized by either giving less car points or no car points if player is found to be intentionally causing bad racing experience for the other. Could also do a report system where if there is multiple report of ramming from other player and the system detect intentional behaviour from the player. Maybe add in on a multiplier to the base car point system on top of this system for good sports player to earn even more “car points” Or how about temporary restriction of rammer from participating online multiplayer matches if found several offence. Or a LP system like Dota 2, in this case the rammers will be put together in a match and they needed to play x amount of match to get out from the penalty match. Man the ideas are infinite. The devs are just not using their talent to 100%

Hell, even if they removed the Car Progession that's tied to that specific car and tied it to the name of the car. Like the Mustang. You unlock all the levels on one Mustang, then you do not have to do it for the Mustang again.

I want them to admit that there WAS a project built years ago that actually used a different engine, but had a falling out internally of development a year before release and quickly scrambled an upgraded half-empty Forza 7.

I don’t understand why gaming companies get away with blatantly lying to their customers. There should be hefty fines for marketing and selling a product that just isn’t real. And we shouldn’t have to wait years for them to “fix it”.

I wish they just took motorsports 4 progression and made it a but more difficult/ revamped it. This could be nostalgia and I could be mistaken. But yeah, I miss motorsport 4.

I'm actually one of the people who likes the Car Points system (to a degree) because it separates the upgrades from the credits currency. I already feel like it's a struggle to get credits to buy some cars if you don't play enough random races. For example, if I get on and wanted to play one of the career options, every new series I have to buy a new car, and sometimes I've noticed I don't have enough to even do the series because I don't have enough credits to buy one of the required cars.. so getting rid of the Car Points would increase this struggle to get credits for cars. So the suggestion to just use credits to get upgrades is a hard pass from me.

In this game, you can mod a honda to be as fast as a gt3 rs and that never happens in real life

Don’t overhaul the entire game, just double the car experience and improve the ai. All this stuff can be overhauled in the next game.

I booted forza the other day. Bought a car to race , then remembered i cant just upgrade the car to compete in the series. I closed the game havnt played since.

It has been 3 months and all of these issues remain. Forza Motorsport is currently broken, glitchy, frustrating, time-consuming and a largely unrewarding experience. Forza Motorsport Loading Screen Edition. Takes up to 10 minutes to launch the game "optimizing shaders". Smoke screens from cars ruin races. Just 1 car glitching out like a space shuttle launch will ruin a race, but sometimes there will be 3-4 cars emitting smoke screens during races. More often than not my session will be ruined by a loading screen freeze exiting qualifying or practice. I can still hear voice chat of the other players racing. This forces a hard reset, which leads to a 10 minute optimizing shaders load screen. A lot of menu scrolling could be reduced with a recently used vehicle shortcut so I don't have to navigate through menus/hundred cars every time I switch a tune. The track disappearing still happens. This is completely game breaking. Personally, I'm not super impressed with the graphics in regards to the interior and livery textures. Seems low resolution or something is off. Why does it seem like a downgrade to Forza Horizon which came out on last generation hardware? Single player is bland as can be. I'd like to see some sort of sandbox/free roam mode for single player. Keep the leveling to online/competitive. Everything feels so locked down to curate how to play the game. Penalties could be improved, but it hasn't had much of an impact on my experience. I'm glad there's a penalty system to curb ramming. I've grown to appreciate the progression mode as it sets a barrier for entry and commitment which attracts a more professional and respectful player to online racing. It also helps to create variety which is fun. For example, if you want to use a cheese tune for a race(ex. Class D Corolla/Road Atlanta), you'll still have to race that car in other races to level it, so it's added variety. The game feels balanced to me at my skill level, balance is super important and leads me to believe the game has the potential to be great. Most of my playtime is in lower classes. Sometimes I feel the 1990 Miata is OP and could use a few more points added to its base value. The thing that sucks about all of these game breaking bugs/issues is the amount of time you end up wasting. 10 minutes of load screens, 20 minutes of practice, 10-15 minutes of racing are all made to waste regularly due to these bugs. Then, if you do it all right and win. You don't get any sort of in-game reward, achievements, or interesting records/statistics you can look over. It's all very bland and lifeless. However, the racing and physics are really good when it's good.

As per the car points, I think it’s good. It stops people from putting 1000HP in a car that can’t handle it and makes you strategize what upgrades to prioritize. As far as the AI goes, I ghost the other cars during racing anyway so I don’t crash 50x/race into them. All I need is consistent content and I’m happy. Is everyone expecting this game to be like all the others or do they want to have a game that does something different?

The idea of penalties is fine. The problem is when you get a penalty for running wide (and losing time anyway) or when someone intentionally rams you off and you get a 5 second penalty that ruins your race. This needs fixing asap

This is the first Forza game I didn't buy close to launch. I may still buy it if it seems to be getting closer to being good but with every month that passes that gets less and less likely, so they better fix it fast. Clearly the development team needs a shake up. Some big changes should be happening right now.

Expecting a developer to reveal that they are artificially boosting play time is like expecting you reveal that you are intentionally making your video 10:01 long to artificially boost your ad revenue.

There’s so much hate about this game. I’m gonna be one of the few to defend it…..I do agree that the “built from the ground up” boast from Turn 10 was a mistake. It made us all think that this was going to be something like we’ve never seen before - truly groundbreaking - but it’s just another driving game. And yes, they need to fix the AI, and also the matchmaking. I’m safety rating A and sometimes creep into the S bracket, but I’m constantly rammed by drivers (some of them very high driver level too, so not inexperienced newbies either) and it’s frustrating, but it doesn’t make me want to bin the game. Here’s why……the handling model is brilliant on controller. I’ve played so many racing games, all on controller over the years, and FM is the best, by far. I’m not a sim racer so I can’t comment on wheel gameplay, but as a casual / serious driving game enthusiast, I love the gameplay. I get a real feeling of the tyres on the tarmac, when they are losing grip, when the car is about to lose it, and when I apply corrective braking or steering using the toggle stick, the game reactes so well for me. The actual game when driving (I prefer cockpit view, but it looks lovely and plays so smoothly from all cameras) looks fantastic and super smooth. So much online hate is comparison car models with loads of other games, and I agree that FM for some reason doesn’t have the shine and polish when admiring cars in the showroom or whatever, but I care about how the cars play, how the game feels to drive, and for me it’s top notch. Last night I decided to install Project Cars 2 which is a game that passed me by when it was released for some reason. This game was really well received at the time. When I started playing, i immediately noticed the visuals are nowhere near as sharp as in FM. So for those who are complaining that it’s not a next-gen title, I disagree. It is next gen, and plays and feels like an up to date game. Fix the AI and matchmaking, and it’s even better

I still don’t know why the career mode in a track racing game has no race cars. Only street cars.

Most of you are probably too young to know how Project Gotham Racing 4 (aka PGR 4) multiplayer worked, but you could host your own public lobby which meant the host could instantly kick anyone not playing by the rules. This made for some pretty spectacular racing since other people knew they had to race clean or it would be their last race in that lobby. I used to have the same people showing up every night. It was the best online racing I ever did. They need to make PGR 4 a backwards compatible game and allow us to host our own PUBLIC lobbies in Forza Motorsport. R.I.P PGR 4 😢.

Not being able to drive all cars, not able to soup them up willingly, shitty car sounds and poor shifting as a manual lands this as the worst game I ever bought.

A big chunk of why the playerbase is so low is due to not having some things for the drift crowd as well. We went from constant activity in drift hoppers to an underground scene, with hardly any people sending it.

The developers over-promised and under-delivered. Bugs, AI and customization can be fixed but those car models are just terrible. Not a single vehicle in this whole game says "built from the ground up", it's just a continuation of previous Forza Motorsports.

One thing I really dislike about this game and prevents me from even playing it is manual with clutch on a stock car is the worst manual and clutch mechanic in any game I played. To clarify, I use a wheel, pedals and an h-shifter to play all my racing and driving games (FH5 and older, Assetto, BeamNG, truck simulators, etc.) and I always liked how the H-Shifter worked in those games, BeamNG allows you to use the h-shifter to select PRND for automatic cars with the h-shifter, and sometimes sport mode and manual mode for paddle shifting, and their manual transmission updates with user timing is great to give a big example. And shifting in other games was pretty much instant, just like a real car, as soon as you select a gear, you're in that gear. In FM, it takes like a second to shift into gear with the h-shifter when using manual with clutch, and its really annoying and very unrealistic.

i think one of the big reason why this game is such a failure is because they built our expectations so high that we thought they gonna make something fresh but as the game released it's all the same sh*t again and is disappointing.

It just got old pretty quickly for me. I made it through about a third of the way through the career mode before I just got bored.
