I find it interesting that some detectives use a table to separate them from the person being interrogated, and some don't; it seems when they don't, the person is more vulnerable, there's nothing to lean on, stare at, etc. When there's no table between them they get in their personal space, it seems more effective.

I would argue that the intimidation techniques used in all these interrogations are actually very ineffective. They are characterized by older interrogation styles (for example in the 70's and 80's). Modern psychology would suggest the exact opposite in trying to understand or get someone to confess.

The sad thing about this story is that there is about a handful of children indirectly affected by the selfish, piss poor decisions of screwed up adults.....What about the children??? They all will need extensive emotional support, healing, and nurturing in order to prevent them from growing up and functioning dysfunctionally like these so-called adults. Screwed up adults, have children, whom then grow up to be screwed up adults...they cycle will always continue without the proper supports and help in place when children are exposed to individuals like these....

@DougglesMagnificent
@DougglesMagnificent 7 лет назад
+BAD Gurl There's definitely no way that a BBC-produced program would have failed to get footage clearance for the type of video you're talking about. That kind of thing - essential footage and audio syncs that require third-party licensing or clearances - gets taken care of quite early in the media production process (I actually used to deal with the media/IP licensing procurement process quite often in my last job and trust me a studio the BBC's stature will never ever have this kind of issue w/ something completed and aired - it'd be like a dentist sending a newly-blind patient home with her new braces fastening her ruined eyeballs shut and her teeth all pulled for future use in a cruel unfunny prank on the homeless (free (fake) crack rocks)). Sorry for maybe overexplaining but I have time to kill on this bus ride so whatever lol anyway I think the vids are divided like this so as to provide a more easily digestible, episodic viewing, with a neat small info caption for each distinct part instead of one big long vid w/ one big long synopsis that some might not want to take in all at once. Also one big video file makes it easier for others to reup it elsewhere without authorization from the BBC.

"If you didnt do anything wrong why would you automatically assume you need a lawyer?" They portray narcissistic characters like her on criminal tv shows very well. It shows that shes manipulative and methodical with her behavior. She already calculated that it would make her look guilty if she asked for a lawyer. She figures "I'm never gonna get caught so Im just gonna fake it til I make it" and she'll play that innocent card until she dies. Sad that Josh is only serving life for helping her kill Heather but Josh at least pleaded guilty whereas Emilia played the victim and that never ends well. She deserves the death penalty. So does he though.

You should give them the same sentence or give Josh the death penalty mainly. He had a motive and hatched a plan more than Emilia did and had more history with Heather than she did even though she had history with Heather as well with the knife incident. I'm not trying to say that she is totally innocent either. If he was gonna use Emilia's trailer, Emilia should have refused and reported him to the cops and as far as Emilia goes, she should have turned Josh in especially knowing she could throw him under the bus even more when questioned, which he did instead. He got life and she got the death penalty. Fuck his IQ, he seemed intelligent enough to hatch the plan and should be on death row as well. You give one person one sentence, the other should get the same damn thing. This is why our justice system, not just in Florida is a big, fat laughing stock and one big, fat, cruel joke.

@attilafry

Perhaps Emilia knows that she has little responsibility, than she was charged . So she struggles for the her truth.
@frustrateduser666
@frustrateduser666 6 лет назад
That's the difference between pleading guilty and not pleading guilty. If 2 people are involved in a crime and one pleads guilty while the other doesn't, you can rest assured that the one who wants to pretend that they are innocent is going to get a harsher sentence. Now I hope you don't doubt that she was involved in this mess because that part is out of the question given what we know now. So if it was only the disparity in sentencing that was pissing you off then the rationale behind it is that the one who pleads guilty is taking ownership of their actions, which is the first step in showing contrition. The one who steadfastly refuses to accept responsibility is the one who doesn't get a lot of sympathy or mercy during sentencing.

You can shut him down in about 2 seconds with 4 words. I plead the 5th. And just keep saying that every few minutes in between just listening to him talk. Say nothing else but I plead the 5th. He will eventually give up. But the more you talk, even if it's to denie or explain why you couldn't have done it then he's gonna keep at it thinking eventually your gonna crack or slip. When you denie or try to explain anything your playing right into a trap. Notice it says anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. It doest say anything you say incriminating. It plainly says anything you say. You can say something that seems completely innocent but the more words you say the more words and statements they have to twist. When testifying in court about what you said that can actually edit their testimony meaning they can pick and choose to play clips of audio to a court and jury but omit bits of it that either helps your case or hurts theirs. So I plead the 5th repeated every few minutes in between just listening to him gawking and throwing out accusations and eventually he will give up. But the more you talk even if it seems like he's your buddy or. If he's being the bad cop either way, your giving him more and more motivation to keep pushing till he thinks he has what he is after

8:10 Emelia has a rehearsed narrative a lacks a conscious I think she is a sociopath: Superficial charm often with glibness Manipulative and conning behavior characterized by not recognizing the rights of others, but instead have self-serving behaviors, are covertly hostile and dominating, see other people as props or instruments to be used for their benefit and consequently humiliate and dominate others. Grandiose behavior characterized as the right to be entitled to whatever they wish. Pathological lying so that they easily find it impossible to be consistently truthful. As a result, they get caught up in a complex belief that they have extraordinary powers. They are so expert at this they pass lie detector tests. A consistent lack of even the concept of remorse, shame, or guilt that conceals a split off from consciousness deep seated rage. People are seen as targets, props, and opportunities to use like property or objects. There is a deep belief that the end justifies the means and they act accordingly.

I find it interesting and a shame they don't just use a lie detector. "Do you what happened to Heather" "No" "She's lying"....... like cmon that would be so simple and I'm just cringing at the fact that I don't know what to believe...uggggh
