Why you didnt prayed yourself..Jesus says in Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened Pray to JESUS He is our Intercessor , Judge & High Priest . Only he has the power to Forgive our Transgressions.

@@rlrett1 Merits? 55 years of going to different protestant churches who had wildly differing doctrines, watching and listening to the "reverend" Wright, RCIA, and talking to several good friends who happened to be Priests. Based on your snarky question, I'm wondering when you stopped learning from others. Also I didn't convert, I was already a Christian; I went home to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

@@leeolson1 , i was in the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH for 53 years, i hope it doesn't take you that long to find the truth about her! She definitely is a "MOTHER CHURCH", the mother of harlots! I do have to agree with you with the wildly different doctrines within what we call Protestantism, another masterpiece of Satan! He owns most of the professing church today, Catholicism, Protestantism..........., maybe Jesus's words ring true *Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?* When i left Catholicism, i went on my knees and asked God to bring me to the truth, God has answered this prayer, praise be to him!

@@rlrett1 I would venture to guess that you know very little of the Catechism of the Catholic church but you have evidently swallowed all of the lies and hatred of the so called fundamentalists. Everyone who doesn't believe and pray like you and your fellows do are not of satan and you should feel ashamed for saying something so hateful.

Such a powerful interview. I couldn’t agree more with her experience within evangelicalism as I’ve had a similar journey and newfound dissatisfaction with the evangelical approach to Christianity. There is so much of an emphasis on emotion, subjective experiences, and one’s own individual approach to God. One becomes the final authority on all theological matters. I’m so grateful to the Lord for leading me home to the true church. I’m currently in RCIA and will be welcomed home this upcoming Sunday 11/20/22. Happy to find your channel.

You make atholicism sound like a cult, with PLENTY of idolatry...worshipping Mary (praying to her, ascribing attributes that ONLY pertain to GOD like omniscience & omnipotence & sinlessness, building altars to her & bowing down, offering adoration, etc). Mary is not God (not co- mediatrix or co- demptrix, as is creeping into Catholic doctrine), according to the Bible. Please worship ONLY GOD. Don't add gods or goddesses.🙏🙏🙏

Your husbands are blessed to have you two amazing women. If you wouldn't mind, I would appreciate your prayers that I find my way to a great marriage. Stupidly, I became distracted by career, travel and "fun," not realizing that getting married young (as my parents did) and having children (my parents had seven) is one of the greatest blessings in life. I love being an uncle, but being a husband, father and role model to my own children - attending church together, imparting wisdom, raising them to be Godly young people - that would be amazing. I hope that it's God's will.

Another thing that I admired while watching this: Both of you are so smart, wise and humble. Amy describes her original defensiveness as a feminist, but letting go of that enabled you to trust God (and your spouse). You are so even-keeled and analytical about your faith, rather than going on how you feel. Being a cradle Catholic, I can only imagine the kind of courage it takes to shift your entire frame of reference and convert to a new and complex faith. Wishing you many blessings on your continuing journey.

I was a cradle Catholic and believe it or not it is only maybe a few years back that I truly understand what it meant to be a real Catholic. I was just doing the motions of being a Catholic but without real conversion of the heart. I was receiving communion unworthily and still keep sinning. The reason why I had a real conversion is when I started watching Protestant converts like Steve Ray and Scott Hahn. Converts like them were the one who really convinced me fully that the Catholic church is the true church of Jesus and you have to obey everything they are teaching. Once I am 100% convinced that the Catholic church is true, there is no other option for me but to be holy like the saints and martyrs of the church. There is no more middle ground for me, it is either you are with me or against me. Before, I was only picking some teachings of the church that is comfortable for me and ignoring other teachings that are hard for me to follow. The Protestants converts were the ones who really opened my eyes to the reality of the Catholic church as the true church of Jesus and everything she teaches is true and should be followed. Even though I have heard thousands and thousands of homilies from priests during the mass, the Protestants converts are teaching about the Catholic church in a different perspective, in a different angle that is quite different from a priest method. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6dBkKoYC2-8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DCD6QF1jCyg.html

I'm 33 minutes in and I think this is a great interview. When I was in my early 30's there was an older neighbor of my grandmother that was trying to convert me out of the evil Catholic Church and he was a die-hard Bible thumping anti-catholic Protestant and he had me sitting on the fence thinking that the Catholic Church was evil (that's not to say that there isn't many evil things going on) and false and I was really having doubts about the Catholic faith. He was an intellectual type that used to work in a hospital in the HR department and he too was also impressed with these Nuns that worked in the hospital with the sick. I think he was surprised that Catholics would actually do something like this because we were so misled. One day after a Bible study at my house he confessed to me that he was trying to get me out of the Catholic church and convert to be a born-again Christian and the reason he was confessing this to me was because he had made the decision himself to convert to the Catholic faith and it was partially because of these Nuns that impressed him and a book that he read called Surprised By Truth by Patrick Madrid. This was back in the early to mid-90s and is partially where I got my name that I gave myself for RU-vid because of how many Protestants I'm always running into that are constantly trying to tell me that my Catholic faith is false. He invited me and my family to his baptism the following Easter and I did not believe that he was serious until he got remarried started having children and sending them to Catholic schools from kindergarten on up and then after maybe 10 - 15 years of seeing his kids going to Catholic schools I started to believe that maybe he was serious about the Catholic faith. He was so anti-catholic that I just had a hard time believing that he was serious but I guess he was.

Most of the time Protestants question where this, or that said in the Bible. They search for the answer in the Bible but don't see what is written there. They are familiar with the certain numbers of verses but not knowledgeable about the Bible. Whatever Catholics believe are from the Bible. But Protestants still have objections and they don't want to see the truth because they have their own interpretation. In the Bible clearly it is mentioned private interpretation is not allowed. First place they disobey the Church teachings. Eph 4:4-6 says one Lord, one faith, one baptism, what it means to Protestants. Jn 15:5-7 I am the vine and you are my branches and when they are divided in the Church how can they be the branches of Jesus. Staying separate they can't be obedient to Jesus. Protestants are blinded and don't see the truth. If you ask them their church history they won't go beyond 500 years. I think Martin Luther too wasn't familiar with the concept of one Church or willingly he divided the Church. Today most of the Protestant Churches are like business organisations. We should pray for them to see the truth. Because of their private interpretation they are divided and when it comes to Catholic Church they are United to criticise. They always claim Jesus told them to start a new Church and I feel that they want to prove Jesus is the liar. Jesus found only one Church. True Church is Catholic Church (Universal Church).

Maybe in the Old Testament these women are prophesizing the beauty and Our Mother, the New Eve, The Ark of The Covenant for us in the New Testament!!!

I am thankful Amy found a church that has her on fire for Jesus and the Gospel. There are a lot of different Protestant denominations. I am an LCMS Lutheran. Unlike the more liberal ELCA church, as well as certain other liberal churches, it's 100% Bible based, conservative, and know the Bible is the inspired word of God. So I think it's vital people find a church that doesn't contradict the Bible, teaches well, values don't change and has strong membership and leadership.

What she said about non-profits being led by their emotions not working struck a chord. My aunt is involved in an organization in New Delhi that helps poor school children get the school supplies they need; pens ,paper, etc. It may sound mundane, but it has helped many children get an education and climb out of poverty. Recently, however, new people involved with this charity have said that they should also feed the poor. The problem is, there are many groups already doing a good job of feeding the poor, and this entity is helping people out of poverty permanently. So you really need to see what really makes sense and not just go with your feelings.

Yes, it's a difficult line to walk. I have worked with many non-profits, and many do some good work and our made-up of wonderful people. The problem is that sometimes our helping becomes hurting. I truly thing the Catholic approach-permanent convents of single men or women is a very good model. Sure, it can fail and hypocrisy creeps in, but I think it is the best option.

I enjoyed Amy's lucid testimony but I hesitate to give this video 5 thumbs up. I spent my Freshman year of college at ORU and, while Charismania certainly has its share of problems, so do all other denominations Filed under "Christian" Faith. Listeners should understand that Amy's testimony presents just one perspective of ORU, in spite of the annoyance to many of the hypocritical prosperity gospel that originated with Oral Roberts, and persists to some extent at ORU today. A university with ~ 5,000 students, from almost every state and multiple foreign nations, will have as faculty, students, and staff, those representing a broad spectrum of Christian doctrinal beliefs and customs. In fact, that's one thing I found most enjoyable about attending there, and many times wish I'd never left. BTW, still an evangelical Protestant, so no offense, I really enjoy hearing these testimonies to Roman Catholicism.

So far, I would say that the percentage is very low. Unless a person has recently been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and in search of a Holy Spirit-filled church, the spirit of discontent that prompts one to convert from one church to another church institution is not present with one who has found contentment in Christ and the Holy Comforter.

Everyone IS the arbitrer of truth. This means everyone is responsible for obtaining and validating what's true. Everyone is responsible for fulfilling their epistemic duty. We cannot responsibly outsource that duty outwards as children. This doesn't meant we create the truth, but that at the bottom line it is you who validate X as knowledge or not, and such a knowledge is presented as knowledge or not to the individual. If the outsourced authority tells me that to to commit acts of terrorism is good and I do it, I am still the one validating such acts as justified and am responsible for my own actions and remaining in such an organization. I first validated the outsourced authority as legitimate and I did so not by outsourcing my responsibility but using it in such a way(maybe even irresponsibly).
@FiledUnderFaith

Yes, good point, we are all responsible to seek the truth and respond to it. I think what Amy was saying is that Protestantism, and evangelicalism in particular, uniquely encourages Christians to decide for themselves how to interpret Scripture and decide on theological issues.

@@FiledUnderFaith Not only to seek truth, but determine when we've found it or not and HOW we respond to it. I cannot just say ", well God says so", or "God told me to do X". Or in this case "the Council says so" without the underlying "I say that the Council is authoritative and that it says X", for I am the one validating and responding to it as authoritative and as truthful. I can only export my responsibility towards the group if I've already assumed my personal responsibility in vetting the group and in sharing the responsibility of the group

There's a characteristic that is shared between Protestants and Catholics, and it's that there are ministers, clergy, priests, nuns who are not doing a proper job of representing the gospel. I can assure everyone that Protestants do not teach that you are your authority when reading scripture. The essence is to go to the church fathers, spend time in prayer and conferring with ministers and others with wisdom. It's no magisterium, but it's not just "whatever I get from the text is good." And the prosperity "gospel" is NOT core Protestantism either, similar to Fr. Martin does not represent core Catholicism. Unfortunately, many of the things identified in this critique are very common. It's a problem, for sure. But, it's always good to ensure that apples-to-apples is the comparison when looking at experiences of faith when using that to justify conversion or leaving one tradition for another. I love this discussion. It's legitimate as a reason for thinking through what's going on.

Oral Roberts was a bad choice, the prosperity gospel etc. The Bible is the ultimate way to Jesus Christ. The Roman Catholic doctrine are full of idolatry and many anti biblical practices. Not the Gospel message which Jesus thought. God's Word is the only arbiter of Thruth. You cannot be saved through good works. We are saved by Grace through faith. I think Protestantism teaches God's Word is the arbiter of truth compared to Catholicism that teaches the Church is the arbiter of truth. Basically it's Catholicism that have a problem with Sola Scriptura, and critically they believe the Church which means a small curia up there in the "boys' club" are the arbiter of truth and they have the power to withhold the truth in God's word if it does not match their truth. The pillar and ground that should uphold truth actually believe they are the truth themselves. The bible does not teach that.

Jesus is not threatened by you or me asking saints in heaven to pray for us any more than he'd be threatened by you and me asking for each others prayers. We ask for prayers from each other, and we ask for prayers from the people who are literally before the throne of grace. As Jesus said to the Sadducees, "have you not read what God said to you, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” The saints in heaven are alive, and they are ready to cheer us on by bringing our prayers before the Father. Feel free to pray for me and Amy.
