This is a better option for diasporans instead of trying to build which is a whole headache. These homes are still half cheaper than homes in the west and u can rent part of it right away as Airbnb to generate more income.

You may have done a tour earlier but I must share that it brought me to tears because Ahmaud Abrery was murdered because he was curious about a construction project and went to look at it. If we black people don't get the implications of living in societies that totally work against us, I just don't know. For me, that was the straw that broke the camel's back for me, because I did that so often when I was young. I'm working on moving to the continent, I don't know how but...

Most common problems I noticed with many African Estates development from Nigeria to Gambia or Zaire designs is lack of "adequate planning for working drainage system" A closed type where rain water drain into underground channel pre planned often about 6feets or more underground into bigger wider pipes buried underground that carry all run off rain water into nearby river. Most drainage system in Nigeria are open gutters with an eyes sores, smelly that often threatened lives of road users. With after thought cover or no cover. "They remain life threatened". all highlights no critical planning for a working drainage system; your road will not last and water will constantly caused serious damaged to your road. I called it lack of adequate planning and lack of visions or foresights. Either you want it or not; rain will come and heavy storm often lead to flooding where there is no proper drainage system planned into road designs

Very true! In some countries like In the Caribbean, that is a common problem. Poor drainage and heavy downpours during rainy season cause so much disease and flood damage. In Western countries we have sewers to carry the run off. Hopefully, more Engineers will be involved/ consulting on these new developments.

For a country with so much land, why are the plots so small. The average property in the UK appears to be larger. The houses are lovely but the plots of land too small.

@corrinn01, I give thAnkhs for what is a very important question... Global Properties who owns this estate as well as other estates is owned by Gambian's... The contractors Swami International are from India. this estate is in Kololi. You are most welcome..!

Now that’s the kind of living I can get with in The Gambia...I’ll sacrifice a lot of land to have a better standard of living any day...BEAUTIFUL HOMES...I JUST HAVE ONE QUESTION....WHY ARE ALL THE HOMES INSTALLED WITH BARS IN THE GAMBIA? Just that alone will make some assume it’s not safe there

Rise Up, You pose a very good question 🤔 it's ah shame I have not yet got the answer... but what I can tell you is that in Gambia I feel much safer than when I was living in london... there are so many cctv cameras on the streets in UK... I haven't seen one yet in gambia... The people are the "eyes and ears" here...

Bars on Windows are everywhere now. In Africa and in the Caribbean. Where there are human beings there will be crime. Sad fact of life. You can always opt for a security system but how many monitiring companies are there? Who will dispatch police in the middle of the night? Bars = 1st line of defense.

Around 20 minutes walk to Senegambia where you have all kinds of amenities like banks, supermarket, restaurants, bars, clubs, craft market ... The nearest beach Palma Rima is around the same walking distance away...

Thanks for the info. I’ve contacted Global and they currently have no properties already constructed on this particular development. Other option is to get them to build one but it will take approximately 1 year to build. Did you buy your home already built?
