Regardless of how the inside looks, the White Sox new park needs to have a red brick exterior with Roman style arched windows modeled directly after Comiskey Park.
I’ve always said the Sox stadium should be next to the Chicago River and we need a district to bring more life around the area.... I would love to see this happen 👏👏👏
I don't understand why some renderings have a circular shape with stands that curve away from the foul lines like a multipurpose 1970s stadium. Shouldn't the stands follow the foul line in a baseball only stadium?
Mixed thoughts on most of these except White Sox. That idea and concept is a homerun easily. Perfect location. Of course everyone wishes the A's were still in Oakland and the "eco future" design for a new Oakland stadium looked way cooler than the boring Las Vegas dome designs. Yeah there are questions about the Rays staying in Tampa but I like the new pyramid stadium design, I think it legit looks really cool. I still really like Kaufmann stadium even if its in a bad location. The new proposed stadium designs in downtown just make it look much more generic and lose the charm that Kaufmann has. I hope they reconsider the designs.
I went to Kaufmann a few years ago and that's a really charming stadium, I'd be sad to see it go... but also I'd happily take the chance to return to KC to see a new one, that's a great town
If the Royals move to Downtown, the Chiefs should build a new stadium in place of the Kaufman stadium, and a football version of the battery in that complex.
@@sirchi8731 The Royals and Chiefs are really not asking for much. I mean look at what's going on in other cities where teams are asking and getting a much higher percentage of the costs for new stadiums. Regardless, if KC wants to keep the teams, there will have to be some public money involved. It is what it is.
NFL stadiums are not good anchors for much of anything other than parking lots. That's why the Royals are leaving and moving downtown. Arrowhead is rarely used and needs a ton of parking. It's fine where it is, but it will never have anything around it nor does it really need anything around it. The Royals are a different story. Baseball stadiums work better in urban areas.
@@kc2dc444 I been to Sofi Stadium (Los Angeles) and Alliegent stadium (Las Vegas). We live in an era that if your stadium is outdated, you're left in the dust.
For anyone wanting to see the Rays new stadium design, just go to your bathroom and lift the toilet lid up. Congratulations you just seen one of the new stadium designs for the Rays. Instead of the roof going across to open they want it to go up like a lid.
Really solid summary of the four current stadiums in the planning phase and the weaknesses of each project. If I could add 2 more potential potential projects in addition to Anaheim, there are two 20 to 25 year old retractable roof stadiums in Milwaukee and Phoenix where the roofs are broken. Those will either need major renovation or replacement not that far down the line.
The Trop was outdated before it had its first game... but as for Orlando... someone has got to tell me why they decided the best place for it would be between the Convention Center and SeaWorld Aquatica. That interchange is blocked up on _average_ summer weekends (say what you will about SeaWorld. Us locals still like it more than Universal. Go fig.) so it would be insane to try to get people down the Beachline or I-Drive to a game there. And I have had my doubts about the light rail system they've been trying to get to the Convention Center from the airport, because they've been trying that for all my adult life and I'm turning 47, and the way you get to the Convention Center from the Airport now? City bus. Not even an express east of the Florida Mall (which means it's a half hour in no traffic down Sand Lake Road and believe you me... as someone who did take that bus... there's usually traffic. Honestly, there are so many better locations for a stadium than that place.
It's amazing how so many American Cities are copying Toronto . Thirty years ago we connected all Transportation to the stadiums. Two blocks away from the Highway . Hotels / Mall & attractions all in the Downtown core . I Recently the city has built tons of Condominiums around the Stadiums and Scotiabank arena as well. I would hate. To see Oakland lose another professional team .
It's funny how they're already talking about a new stadium for the White Sox, but no one is talking about a new stadium for the Cubs despite Wrigley Field being much older than Guaranteed Rate Field.
That’s because Wriggley Field is an iconic stadium as well as a beloved one. It would be a huge loss to see it go. I would say the same for old comiskey park, but they already demolished it and now we are here.
No need to demolish Wrigley, as it’s already in a prime location and has history.... Plus, didn’t they just renovated it a few years back? I’ve been saying the Sox need a complete overhaul and moving them next to the Chicago River with a new district would do wonders for the team… Also, it wouldn't be too far from their current spot, Bridgeport, as they are still the Southsiders..
The question is when will the Red Sox New Fenway Park will ever be built? The Red Sox old stadium Fenway Park is the oldest stadium in all of Boston. Is it that time the Red Sox need a new Stadium?
tampa bay should have used to the rays design close to wherever fans can get too ... n they just fucking up shit more for the fans smh lol ..... ready for the orioles renovation cant wait for my hometown new designs for camden
I get all these teams needing new stadiums..there wasn't much foresight when they built the current location. But public funding is a sore spot with me. The public helps these owners build these amazing sports palaces, then when they get completed they forget the common fan and reward them with $20 beers $150 nosebleed tickets. Sounds fair, right? A few years ago i decided to go to Rockies opening day. Unfortunately i didn't get to the downtown area until the game was in the sixth inning. I figured it would still be fun to see a few innings. ...i figured i would pay mabe $20. I get to the box office, full ticket price $100 for less than 3 innings. Thats how owners reward fans
Does anybody think the Vegas deal won’t fall through last minute? An somehow they end up staying in Oakland? Just curious on people out look of the situation.
I feel like even if they do stay in Oakland, the bridge is totally burned - those fans and that city are not going to forget this, and won't give a single solitary fuck about the team until they get new ownership, a la the Commanders
I could actually see them getting stuck in Sacramento or Salt Lake City for a decade when the Vegas stadium plan collapses after they move to a "temporary" home in 2025.
The Angels should move to Brooklyn in a reverse move from the Dodgers haha 😈 Brooklyn would embrace an MLB team. Then move the minor league team in Coney Island to Richmond County Ballpark in Staten Island. SI gets affiliated baseball back. Have them return for 2027. Even if they had to share Yankee & Citifield till their park was ready. It would be the 70th anniversary year of the Dodgers in LA. Make it year one of that franchise in Brooklyn! Make it happen MLB! Move the current team in Staten Island to Trenton. Then they have a real team again even though it’s the Independent League.
No one knows. They threw this together in 20 minutes and now they say wad it up, new and improved renderings coming up soon. That was 6 months ago. This ownership is a joke.
If the Athletics actually end up moving to Vegas the easiest solution to the ballpark issue would be an Allegiant renovation- to make it equipped for Major League Baseball. A decision to play MLB baseball at Allegiant would save Vegas taxpayers well over a billion dollars.
There's a reason Oakland Coliseum was the last multi use stadium. Sounds practical but a terrible football and baseball experience. 40 years of trying has taught us this can't be done.
@@BoulderCityBlues You may be right. I just wanted to point out that there is no way the Athletics will be able to build a better ballpark than a theoretically renovated Allegiant.
The TAMPA BAY AREA would take a BIG L if they don’t put the stadium in Tampa imagine having the stadium NEAR A BRIGHT LINE STATION that would be incredible. Not to mention the stadium in Tampa would be accessible to more people. Tampa has a lot of potential they should sacrifice whatever Has to be done to bring the stadium to Tampa.
I hate rich owners asking the public for money for their fancy new stadiums. Not only that but now they always want public funding for stores and bars around the stadium that the owners will own and profit from while the public pays for it..
The plan Las Vegas has is perfect… taxes collected inside the tax district pay back the bond … if you don’t want to pay them don’t go into the stadium….. period!
@togoandmoss and it will be MLB's LA Chargers. Fans of the visiting team coming in no matter how you try and sugarcoat it ➕️ I see that with the as in Vegas it'll be how the Chargers are in now, Spanos is in total debt with his move because his projections are as low as he expected and people are getting compensated by being their biggest apologist defending the owner.
No one goes to Rays games, so why build a new stadium in the TB area? Public funding has been rejected many times already, so the Rays best choice is to move out of Florida. Other than that, I really don't see why some teams feel they have to have a new stadium every 10-15 years. It's a bad investment for taxpayers, and proper maintenance should keep any ballpark going for at least 50 years, if not more.
Royals should stay at Kauffman Stadium. It’s one of the best ballparks and the only reason that fans haven’t shown up is due to how bad they’ve been after 2015

Which is really stupid. The Royals need to move downtown. It's in the best interest of the team and the city. They are not staying at Kauffman long term. If this drags out to the end of the lease, Sherman will just sell the team and they are worth a LOT more in a larger and faster growing city with a modern stadium, so they will be gone.
@@kc2dc444 The Royals do NOT need to move downtown. A downtown ballpark would be a freaking nightmare regarding traffic and parking...and if you can find a place to park good luck with having your car not missing any parts when you are ready to head home.
@@HawklordLI Well people like you who are scared of cities can not go. You will be replaced by others. But they are either moving downtown or leaving the metro. If people vote down a new stadium, they will keep Kauffman, but it won't have a team much longer.
@@HawklordLI That's all you got? I can debate this for days with real facts and reasons. Can you? And traffic, parking and crime are only things people say who are scared of cities. Maybe most royals fans are country folk or something who don't go near tall buildings? Example one of why the Royals desperately need to widen their demographics of fans. Talk about being as sharp as a bowling ball.

Royals are not getting a dowtown park... Anyomne thinking(or wanting) that is on crack... Nobody wants another downtown ballpark. Parking and traffic would atrocious. Disrespectful to Kauffman family.
It doesn't make sense the Cubs need a new stadium way more than the white sox. The red sox, cubs and tampa bay are the the true franchises desperate for a new stadium.
Wrigley Field is in better condition than many modern parks. Plus whenever I go there, I always have a great view of the game. Not so in Fenway. The last time I was in Fenway, I missed the first three innings because of late-comers blocking my view.
This is so stupid and wasteful. Tropicana needs to remain. Renovate that mess! That's it! Stay far from tampa though. They can redo that dome easier than any other stadium ever could because it's already got the essential chassis foundation. They could easily cover all the industrial crap with proper interior design materials. They could invest like $200M and get a great effect given their attendance.
I don't see the point of moving, especially when the White Sox can move their ballpark into an area that used to be a dreadful slum and add to the gentrification efforts even more.
So white Sox’s the royal s rays and a s are planning to move to the new stadium 🏟️ so rob manfred the commissioner of major leagues baseball is expected as promised To build the new stadium 🏟️ for in near future so I am very excited for 4 teams Al the rangers has new stadium in 2020 days before Covid goble life filed was built 4 years ago and now we ahed to rest of the feature for white Sox’s royal s rays and A s to make the new stadium 🏟️ s be likely to feature but orkland As if they want to stay last games in orkland before they move to Las Vegas .
