FX Impact M3 - The Slug Test & Zan's not performing 

Been having the same problems as you with my Mk 2 Impact for a long time. The amount of ammo I have gone through. Sticking with pellets, cheaper, less air usage and still good clean kills. Glad to see Im not the only one that can't get Zans to group.

I’ve seen this before, one batch of ammo shooting just right, next batch is crap. Unfortunately no more of the old batch to compare against.

Its very fraustrating, i first got my M3 in .25cal FAC in june 2021, i stayed with the same 700mm superior liner and found a tune that worked for EVERYTHING including zan slugs, this morning after using 39g wildman slugs at 975fps i decided to try some 37g zans ( they used to work) and i was getting similar groups to yours, when before at 50 yards they were tight little clover leaf groups, i dont know whats happened? They do also look a little rough when they came out of the packet, i decided to go back to 41g prohunter slugs at 940fps and they group as tight as they ever have done, along with the 39g wildman slugs.

Try different speeds also. I was shooting jsb knockouts the other day at 1000fps and had a large spread. Slowed them down to 960 and group tightened right up.

Slow the knockouts down to 960 should tighten up even more. Now I consider the knockouts a hybrid because they do have a smack skirt on them which seal the barrel when fired..

Thanks for the video, I have the same rifle, but as yet I've not put the heavy liner in for slugs. Another rifle custom rapid with a stx liner in .177 fac was a nightmare with all weights of jsb pellets and hn knockouts. The I tried pro hunter slugs, bingo.

Well I learned one thing. I should probably buy some h&n slugs.

What liner do you have how old is it ? 960 fps is a good start What head size 250 works the best . Imo the new H&N 34 gr are absolutely brilliant

The new design zans are much better

The jsb 25.39 will shoot better than the hades even in my experience.

Dear, did you re-index the liner? I would advise you to do it

By the way i use the tungsten hammer and the pinprobe, no slugliner

I shoot them out of the standard superior liner at 956 fps and they group well, reg 1 at 150 and reg 2 at 110 hs at 15 and micro at 3.5 front valve at 4 - hs on 4 goes well with the knockouts and on 2 th jsb 34gr fly 880/890fps

Check diameter of Zans against the HH. See if the zans are smaller.

The 44 grain Zan boatails done me well at 990 fps

I had to go with the 800 mm tensioned barrel to get any kind of accuracy with slugs with the 600 mm barrel forget it

do you have the slug power kit/tungsten hammer fitted?

Think you’ve got a faulty liner, the new ones have a 1:16 twistrate (you’ve got the 1:18)

Check the tightness of your scope rail.

The weakest point of FX airgun is their barrel. They've been designing their barrel in wrong direction.

What are your reg settings?

Try zans 37 gr on 950fps

no offence but i carnt see a problem ..if the zan slugs dont shoot out of you gun dont shoot them ... stick to whats good h and n slugs they look spot on for your gun ( same hole with h and n slugs )....... thats brill great video but why do you need to shoot the zan slugs ,,,,,,,,,,,, if your putting the slugs through the same hole stick to them
