I know it's a stomp but I still love this matchup. I love the idea that the entire fight would be black and white but when Travis either starts winning or after he kills Jack, the screen turns to colour. Also I just like the rivalry matchup

Travis is one of the few characters with the privilege of (at least arguably) winning all his popular match ups and though Jack isint the best show of that he certainly is one of the most appropriate. This track really does justice to him, i hear a lot of shinobu and Gold joes themes in this at least in spirit. I think i also hear a little jazz which is probably more a jack thing. Hopefully if this gets vocals its a rap thing cause both series have a lot of hip hop. Glad to finally see this mu represented

Ok after a few reslistens, I can say that this will have vocals in the future. The way the music switches up matches the different games in tone so we might get a gull-on rap battle for these two.

Now I think we all agree that if this track doesn't get vocals we riot, right ? More seriously, this matchup is one that I've heard about a few times by now and while I get it, I wasn't particularly a big fan of it due to a number of reasons. I don't dislike it but it had nothing that really appealed to me, even in terms of musical potential. So when I saw it being made as a commission I was a bit apprehensive as I feared it could end up being a "listen to it to make my review, never listen to it again" track. And in the end I'd say that it does a decent job at staying out of this zone. I mean, it's not a track I'm in love with, I'll admit that much. But I still think it stands out pretty well. It catches the absurdity and brutality of both sides of the matchup but it also does a good job at keeping the intensity and tones it has all throughout its duration balanced enough that it doesn't feel out of character for either. It feels absurd, yes, but the funky kind of absurd and that makes it sound very entertaining. Now as someone that knows nothing beyond the basics of either franchises I can't really go into detail of what I think each segment represents but I most definitely can note at least one segment which I really like in terms of raw quality. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, that'd be the ending starting at 3:40. I mean, a similar segment plays roughly a third of the way through the song but the ending intensifies what I like about it by sheer virtue of being longer. It still captures that absurd and groovy feeling the rest of the track has but in addition to this it also adds a more tense and grand feeling which just makes the song stand out more to me because it sounds cooler. What ? Not every song or segment needs to be a grandiose showcase of depth and greatness of writing for me to find it cool. Sometimes something as simple as "it sounds good" is sufficient to make me really like a segment. And I think it fits for a matchup like that to have a segment as such. Overall this track isn't one that'll go down in history I'll admit. But not every song needs to be legendary and this song is proof of it. It fits the characters and the matchup (or at least what I know of them) and most importantly it just sounds really funky for its entire duration which is enough to make it stand out. Amazing job as always with this.

I love Travis so much and Jack is cool as hell too, would love to see them fight.

I hope this ages and Madworld gets a sequel. It was a great game.
