He is massively wrong about folic acid, there's no evidence to suggest it causes ADHD. The FDA agreed to spray seeds with Folic acid because no pregnant women don't get enough Folate in their diet which causes all sorts of issues for babies it has nothing to do with a 'conspiracy'. Any excess Folic acid is urinated out.

This RU-vid video by Chris Masterjohn explaining in considerable detail how Brecka's understanding of nutritional science is limited/wrong is, in my view, much more informative. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kMPvCiOkEtQ.html

What’s funny is, CDC and National Library of Medicine have both stated this whole Folic Acid and ADHD correlation is bullshit. However, my son has displayed every symptom of ADHD. We took all folic acid out of his diet, he’s been the most behaved he’s been in over a year, with change to disciplinary actions, just taking folic acid out…

@RioGirl16 I'm honored, thank you. My goal in life is to help people who live with methylation issues and have them understand that being a Hypermethylater or a Hypomethylater brings on similar symptoms, but the treatment is VERY different. There are many genes associated with methylation, not just 3 or 4. Blood tests carry tremendous weight when in the diagnosis stage. It's pretty common now to get another bachelor degree in the process of getting a graduate degree. You get in another related field's grad program, masters or PhD, and in the process earn another bachelors that you get automatically even if you don't finish the grad degree.

I’ve read they spray folic acid because glyphosate was causing neural tube defects. Glyphosate’s the main problem, but another story. Why would 40-60% of people be unable to process folate, the natural form of a vital vitamin? Is it possibly because glyphosate disrupts the gut - where folate’s absorbed? It seems to me, the problem isn’t inability to process natural folate, but artificial folic acid. (In combination with glyphosate’s effects on the gut.) It’s hard to tell when studies conflate folic acid and folate. (And everyone pretends glyphosate is safe.) They’re absorbed differently, so why are they studied as if they’re “the same?”

While the evidence on MTHFR gene mutation is interesting, the evidence is definitely conflicting, meaning as he said, there are correlations enough to question things, but not necessarily enough to say causation because there is evidence for both sides. The carb lethargy is not due to folic acid. It’s due to the glycemic index. You have simple carbs and complex carbs. Complex carbs have a lower glycemic index while simple carbs have higher. In other words, your body converts the simple carbs to glucose much faster resulting in a spike in blood sugar and crash. Whereas complex carbs are metabolized more stable over time. Simply put, quite eating white rice, white bread, cupcakes… etc and start eating brown rice, whole grain bread, fruit… etc.

@OfficialNattyOrNot As a Hypermethylater, rice pushes on the methylation pathway negatively, and histamine foods raise adrenaline. therefore, do the same in a different way. So they are just bad in general. Michelle Anglisano Co-author of Methylation Madness:Insight into the Biochemical and Personal Lives of Hypermethylaters
@OfficialNattyOrNot
@OfficialNattyOrNot 24 дня назад
@anxietymthfrbiochemistrysu6860 There is no conclusive evidence that rice specifically pushes on the methylation pathway negatively for individuals identified as hypermethylaters. Methylation pathways can be influenced by various factors, including diet, but the impact of specific foods like rice on hypermethylation is not well-established. Histamine-rich foods can indeed trigger symptoms in people with histamine intolerance, but the claim that they raise adrenaline levels directly is not universally supported by scientific evidence. Histamine can cause various allergic reactions and symptoms, but its direct effect on adrenaline levels is not clearly established. The general statement that these foods are "just bad in general" is not accurate. The impact of foods varies greatly among individuals depending on their unique biochemistry, health conditions, and genetic predispositions.
@anxietymthfrbiochemistrysu6860
@anxietymthfrbiochemistrysu6860 23 дня назад
@OfficialNattyOrNot Thank you for your words. That is exactly what I am saying. It is the individual chemistry that makes foods good or bad. Plus, the effect of food is an additive effect, not an allergic type effect with histamine. The effect of diet in this instance is a build-up over time until reactions become overloaded. As to effect of histamine on adrenaline and vise versa, if one looks at effects of nitric oxide causing a vasodilatory effect and a concomitant histamine rise, and then add it to the vasoconstriction of adrenaline to balance blood vessel waves it is self evident. In addition, the anaphylaxis shock allergic reaction has histamine as a main cascading effect. The resultant emergency treatment is an epi adrenaline shot. Which cancels the effects of the histamine release.

It's pretty simple just avoid "enriched" and "fortified" label on foods. Buying things with the USDA Organic label is an even more simple way to go about this. Luckily Folic Acid is water soluble, and won't be stored in fat. Meaning you will naturally flush excess Folic Acid through urine.
