I hear people say, Sony made a bad choice to buy Bungie. I think people are underestimating Sony here. Sony obviously had the foresight, to write into the purchase contract, if Bungie didn't maintain certain financial obligations, Sony gets the captains chair. It was a win win for Sony. Either Bungie ran a profitable business. Or Somy could do what they are doing now, and not only absorb talent, but create a new studio that IS NOT under the same 3rd party contract as Bungie. They got another first party studio to make exclusives, AND still have Bungie working on destiny and Marathon, even if its a scaled back version. Sony prefers smaller more concentrated teams
Personally never have and never will give a damn about Bungie as a studio, I just find it funny how Xbox Fanboys can blame Sony for Bungie's self-inflicted fate AND have the nerve to act like "This never would have happened if Bungie was still owned by Microsoft" especially after what became of Arkane & Tango Gameworks. But we all know this is just Xbox Fanboys still trying to cope with the fact that Bungie were willing to be acquired by Sony and not MS, months prior to Bungie being acquired by Sony, I remember Xbox Fanboys were begging MS & Phil to buy back Bungie and 'force' them to 'bring Halo back to its glory days' despite pretty much everyone who made Halo no longer work at Bungie anyway.
@@GamingGrindhouse - But like I said; those people have long since left Bungie, ironically most of those people are scattered across many studios working for or working in collaboration with PlayStation Studios.
Xbox is bringing in billions of revenue and have over 500 millions users who are using other hardware to patronize their gaming platform. How many user do Sony have? Over 16+ million PS5 sold are not turned on, and that is a big loss for Sony. Users of your service is more important than how many console are sold. Apple IPad or phone playing Xbox games is just as important as selling AMD Consoles.
Tango and the lesser Arkane team were closed because they didn't profit on their last 2 to 3 games. Bungie was simply mismanaged by Sony. There's a reason Jimbo hit the eject button and I can't wait to see the reactions when it plays out.
Let's be honest Bungie has really shit the bed (again), and why should Sony pay for it, in some ways I bet Sony knew this and they have been waiting for this because they can step in right the ship, and then tell Bungie the games are going where Sony wants them to go, seems simple business to me
Of course that’s their goal, that’s the point lol That’s what we’ve been saying for years😂 they are getting rid of the console and going full third party and services oriented. Xbox is no more and all their games are going everywhere.
