QoTD: I've been trying a team with Revaroom because it's just such a silly Pokemon I can't help but love it. One thing it has going for it is Spin Out and Shift Gear. If you can get 107 speed on it then it will outspeed Dragapult under tailwind/Shift Gear, or underspeed anything 55 base speed and higher after a Spin Out. I have it on a hybrid rain/trick room team. Haven't been able to play too much today, but I did go 2 for 3 so I'm pleased so far.

Super thrilled to see a Toedscruel team, it's been a fascination of mine. I've been exploring using Grafaiai/Toed as an opening, so you can doodle away Toed's negative ability and have the fastest Spore user to ever exist. It's caught some people out, and if you Tera Ground it Earth Power is enough to one shot a Torkoal team. It's a really interesting counter meta combo.

I only started playing attention to VGC content with Scarlet/Violet and you quickly became my favorite content creator for it. I'm happy that you are doing so well with it and keep the good stuff coming! I'm looking forward to seeing how you do competitively.

Ive been a fan of pokemon for a long time, but this gen is the first gen in which im going to try to play competitive pokemon. The way you speak in your videos, explaining what is happening, what could happen, or what shouldve happened is insanely helpful. From what ive seen, Pokemon is an information game, the more you know about the game and its interactions the better of a player you will be, so I have a feeling youre going to help me learn a lot about the game and help me catch up in terms of game knowledge, so for that, thank you so so much.

I played against this team earlier today! I think I just barely won, was super close. QOTD: I ended up making another gimmicky team like my Slaking one, this time centered around Oricorio. Oricorio's revelation dance chances based on tera type, so it was super fun to mess around with! Team was Oricorio-Electric/Volcarona/Quaquaval/Farigiraf/Torkoal/Lilligant.

An awesome vid. Nothing wrong with the length in my opinion. It was great to see all of the matches. QOTD: I started with a snow based team, using Slowking's chilly reception, slush rush cetitan and braxcalibur. rounding out the team with an umbreon for support, amarouge and tyranitar.

I've been running a kilowattrel brambelghast team without paradox or legendary mons even before the official format, so i'm pumped to continue adjusting it now that a lot more mons are viable. Really been enjoying using discharge into terra ground gyarados. Also using brambleghast is awesome, it ohkos basically all non-resistant mons after tailwind and life orb boost and people keep using hurricane and heat wave into it which is hiliarious. Thanks for your wonderful content Aaron - i usuallt don't comment, but I've been enjoying watching since 2014 so I feel really grateful and it's wonderful to see you getting more of that oh so deserved attention!

QOTD: I've been experimenting with a defensive team that focuses on getting into an endgame position with Garganacl (ID/body press/salt cure/recover) next to Arboliva (protect/leech seed/giga drain/pollen puff). it's hilarious how bulky they are. supported by Arcanine and screens Grimmsnarl. scarf Gholdengo and LO Hydreigon round out the team for specific matchups.

hadn't played competitive in YEARS until the last few months of Sword and Shield (hey life gets really busy!). Had so much fun with Sword and Shield and all the new mons/strategies that came with it. Still a few weeks away from beating SV most likely (again, life...) but i'm already super pumped to get back into online play with all the new pokemon i've been seeing. so many awesome new strategies to employ and new pokemon to try! keep up the videos, i am enjoying getting a primer on the meta before i actually get there myself lol

So glad the QODs are back. My teams currently is Meowscrada, Talonflame, Sylvan, Cerlegue, Rotom Wash, Glimora. Really similar to a team you featured in an earlier video. Still ironing out the team structure. Feel like I’m really weak to water. With three mons that crumble to it. But really like the general idea of the team.

hey aaron! ikaros here. glad to see youre as hype as i am for series 1 of the new game. hopefully we'll come across each other at some point on your road to ranked :) QOTD: Im playing a sun team with a trick room mode where the main pokemon i try to use is armarouge. that thing is so dang cool. tera dark armarouge/indeedee/torkoal/tera water liligant/daschebun/tera normal dragonite the main thing i try to do is go with eject button indeedee+covert cloak armarouge to set up follow me into trick room. if indeedee dies, not a big deal. if it doesn't it switches out. either way, i get torkoal. torkoal has charcoal rather than specs but is otherwise a standard trick room turtle, using eruption if armarouge can get away with an expanding force, or lava plume if i need to use heat wave in order to power it up. i also have a sash chlorophyll liligant+torkoal mode available when i cant use trick room in order to go for speedy sleep powders or an after you eruption. assault vest daschebun is an option to take on targets that can wall armarouge like houndoom and tyranitar, and with well baked body and body press actually likes being in the line of fire on lava plumes. dragonite is a basic banded espeeder, but i also gave it aqua jet and fire punch as a secondary priority option and a way to abuse sun respectively. im kind of thinking of switching to tera water and dropping the band in favor of an expert belt or something. undecided, and open to advice.

Can't wait to see the kind of teams you try out in this meta. I'm messing around with Garchomp, Arcanine, Grimmsnarl, Armarouge, Indeedee, and Garganacl at the moment.

You and wolfey convinced me in the last few months to give VGC a go and I've been really enjoying it, and I'm glad I'm able to get into scarlet/violet at the start. QotD: Just got done making my team that uses meowscarada and ceruledge as the main heavy hitters, tinkaton as a bulky attacker, Noivern for tailwind and a special attacker (normal terra + boomburst is fun) and jumpluff and sableye running support. Sableye can will o wisp ceruledge to activate flash fire, and generally be annoying, jumpluff is a case of role compression as it provides tailwind, sleep and redirection. It's quite a lot bulkier than I was expecting though! Only managed 2 games so far as its 2am and I need sleep but won both which is promising!
