@Riz P kinda hard to explain since its a kind of personal matter that everyone thinks of differently. but i think they're referring to the feelings and mindsets and, well, happiness i guess that comes with youth and fades away slowly as you age. the idea is that in heaven you get all of that feeling back, but thats just my interpretation. i encourage you to find your own that works for you and your experiences
Mum´s and wife´s have a creepy skill to find things. They can go to the same drawer or cupboard where you already have look 6 times, and they find it after 5 sec.
@@Fjertil it actually funny but talking how men differentiate from women we want results we dont have time for unecessary mouvements will women can focus and calmly find ur lost things sometimes u lose something ur wife didnt see but she calculate and asume u put it above tv coz it is ur fav place to rest after a long day of work and u just exausted and tv close to door .... (just exmpl) thats why women complete men (if they understand and care for each others of course) woman can read u as a book if she care about u and live with u.thet have also the superpower to tell if u lie or not 😂
Hunter/Gatherer division of labor between men and women. Men can track moving objects better (hunting). Women can find stationary things better (gathering).
My grandmother used the " it's in the last place you look "...so, when I found something, I would keep looking for it ( while I hold my watch in my hand ) just so I can say '''HAAA, it's NOT in the last place I looked !! Used to drive the old woman crazy...LMAO
Probably the greatest comedian of all time. Certainly my favorite. Some of his Clips I end up watching again and again because they are just so funny. Thanks George and rest in good piece.
One of my Mom's favorite responses when l couldn't find something..."Well, if it was up your arse you'd know it!" "Yes, thanks, Mom... I'm fairly certain I would." RIP Mom
I don't know if George knew, when he was here/living, just how cosmic he was.Natural sensitivity, great intuitive talent. What a gift to this world he was!
Then there's this curious phenomenon called hiding in plain sight where the object you're trying to find is right there in front of you but, for some reason, you don't see it and continue to look high and low. And then, in the fullness of time, your eyes alight on it and you go "I don't frickin' BELIEVE it!"
This happened to me with a lighter. I was looking for it for over 2 days. And somehow, someway, I looked in the spot two feet in front of me, which I KNOW I even moved and checked a billion times over, and it was sitting RIGHT THERE. The 4th dimension is real 💀
“You’re in the land of broken dreams and shattered hopes and you’re next in line for the human sacrifice.” “I think I’d rather be lost.” -in Robin Williams voice no less.
Dude, how can that be when he was already being famous before Robin Williams started to became famous. If I remember this is just one of many skits he has done on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. So now explain to me how the hell he sounds like Robin Williams when Robin Williams wasn't even around at that point of time?
It's kinda like in South Park. The Underpants Gnomes take everything. They hide it in their underground lair. Step 1, Stolen item step 2 ..... Step 3, profit.
Carlin was even funny when he wasn’t cursing. By that time he had gotten fed up with a lot of us. And had to make a point. Miss him dearly. He’d have a field day with what’s going on in this messed up world right now.
I've Loved George Carlin since I was about seven years old. He is beautifully hilarious and a gorgeous man in every way. I am so sorry he's gone now although I'm sure he's much happier we sure could use him now in the country of America in 2020. He was like a cool breeze on a really hot day and quite intelligent, how rare that is among comics these days. I love him still and watch his interviews and stand up on RU-vid as much as I can. 😇
I guess I was about 7 when I first saw him on Johnny Carson. But only the past year because of U Tube I've listened to his uncensored comedy! What a genius
I can't say enough about George Carlin! I love the way he brings to light the most obvious and everyday things.. putting his sardonic slant on it to really bring home the hilarious points that eluded me about the subjects initially! I recommend him to all my friends
On the subject of coincidences to lost things, something in life I’ve often found amusing is when you experience losing something, finally giving up on it and moving on, maybe buying a new one, then what seems like immediately, you find the thing you lost, but absolutely no longer need it.
one time i lost my suspenders that i kept in the top drawer; and i kept coming back to look for them there; and they finally showed up after about 6 tries.
I was visiting my mother and during the visit, my stepfather lost his hearing aids. We looked everywhere and didn’t find them. About 6 months later my mother called and said she’d found the hearing aids. Of course, I asked where she found them and she said in the waffle box in the freezer. We thought we looked everywhere. Apparently not.
Carlin's mind worked in a weird and beautiful way. He saw the simple strangeness in everyday life, as did Robin Williams. Unfortunately, they may have had difficulty communicating their personal troubles.
Yeah, i think that may be what's wrong with this country. Too many men sharing feelings every 12 seconds. Don't care to see any men that cry more than women do. Please. :)
I hope when I get to Heaven, someone finally explains where all partners to the other sock went. It's one of life's greatest mysteries. Love you, George Carlin.
He missed the part that I often do: "Let's see? What am I looking for now? Car keys!! Maybe I have forgotten what they look like? Small, silver pieces of metal, hooked on to the key ring, leather flap and black plastic with car opener button. Yea, probably already looked at them and didn't recognize them. Better start over again."
I lost my laptop charger. It's just gone... And I can't for the life of me recall where it could be. I came to youtube to look for this video because I needed some comfort from the fact that I'm not alone with this kind of problem. Thanks George.
this was a few years before his role in Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. he looked young here compared to his last stand up. rest in peace Mr George Carlin.
The thing that always got me was when someone said "I found it in the last place I looked" well of course you did... once you found it why would you keep on looking ?
When people say they lost their mind, where do they think it goes? No one is ever looking for their mind, they've either lost it or they have it. Same with memories, if you lose your memory, where does it go?
The saying that always made me laugh when trying to find something is "It'll be in the last place you look", then why not look there first, but it's never there, lol
I got lost last Christmas season in London. It was outside the front door of Harrods when all of a sudden my parents weren't behind me anymore. I held my ground for a bit, then went to look for them. I looked everywhere. The Pret Manger we ate lunch/dinner at, the grocery store we browsed around, back in Harrods, even the nearby McDonalds. Nothing. I was scared. Here I was in a place I had been to for the very first time, and it was nearing Christmas. I thought I'd be lost for a very long time, and I didn't have my parents' switched out cell phone number either. I was on the verge of tears. But then I remembered something I read in my first ever "Boys Life" magazine. When you're lost, you don't panic. You STOP. That is: Stop. Think. Observe. Plan. I had to get back to my family, and the best way I could do that is if I could get to neutral ground where they were sure to come to eventually. But where would that be? Then I remembered the Ibis Hotel we were staying at. If I could get back there, they'd surely come there in time to reunite. Problem was I didn't know how to get back. I had to find a way to get to the hotel. I didn't have my phone, but there were still those payphones nearby. With luck, calls to the police and emergency services were free like in America. I made my way to one that was working and called. The police officer listened to my story and asked where exactly I was and what I had seen. I told him we had been to Westminster Abbey so he directed me to the nearest Ibis Hotel. Unfortunately, that wasn't the right Ibis Hotel. But I went inside anyway and explained the situation to a receptionist. She called several other Ibis Hotels until she got the one my parents were registered under. She then told me to tell the workers of the Underground Subway System to direct me to the nearest train station to our hotel. It was dark, but I found my way to the subway, asked for directions to where I needed to go, made it to the right Ibis Hotel, but my parents weren't there. The receptionists assured me that after awhile they'd come back to the hotel and after an hour or so, I heard a knock on the door. Imagine my happiness to be reunited with my parents who at one point I thought I might never see again.
When I was a kid, about 7 or 8, I had a lovely little toy derringer. Yes, I lost it and it bothers me to this day. Like George says, I just want to know where it went because I am 70 now, way past the age you play with small toy guns. In my mind’s eye I can still see it.
He does another bit similar to this discussing the difference between lost and missing and it's brilliant, like doesn't missing violate some form of physics, you might be missing from where you should be but not missing from where you are, lost is different, YOU'RE the only one that knows, truly awesome
