I used to have a friend and enjoyed my conversation with him till he became a father and began telling me about his kids . I got very annoyed to the point where i blocked him on my phone and my Facebook as well.
Thank god for George Carlin. Parents are always like "Well, you would say that because until you have a child you'll never understand." Well, George Carlin has kids and still has enough sense to speak the truth.
I dont have kids and that is still my opinion!! They are their parents whole fuckin world or their parents worst inconvenience!! One or the other!! Unbelievable!!

I was lucky- I had cool parents that let me watch the Carlin HBO specials starting when I was about ten years old. I finally got to see him live shortly before his death. You were the best.
My parents were the same way. Carlin was my favorite comedian. Funny thing my parents kind of encouraged me to watch him because of how insightful he was. My mom told me “you could learn a lot from him”.
Remember when he predicted the stock market dropping 2,000 points in a day, and people in the streets engaging in a civil war with police officers? No doubt in my mind he's gonna be right this time too. If his timetable is right, we've got 30 years left.

George Carlin sometimes speaks such truth, that I don't even find it funny because I'm genuinely horrified of the truth he speaks. This is one of those times.
I laugh at it because no one else would be rude enough to say this stuff. These are all things that we are so polite and sensitive about. And it's almost unbearable to think that our kids have no future. So its an ideal subject for humour - something no one would say. I cried with laughter the first time I watched this, though I can't say I agree with all of it.

Wow. I never knew Carlin even knew RU-vid existed. It's completely different than it is now but holy shit. I feel much less disconnected from him and his later era after hearing him say "RU-vid"
Only people who like to hear stories of someone’s children is so when it is their turn to talk about their kids, they can tell you how much better their kids are than yours.
I understand his frustration. I've been trying to wake up people for a large part of my life. It's exhausting. You have to be strong and able to keep motivated to not get bitter. Its a hard job. You often stand alone. Even when your surrounded by people it can feel alone.

Just six weeks before George moved onto the next plane. What a comic genius! When I first started listening to Carlin (early 70's), he made me laugh. In later years, he made me think. Love George!!

Saw Carlin live five or six times....just brilliant...delivery, thoughts, nothing staged, pure truisms, with a dose of cynicism, sarcasm, and a dash of time.
George you left us a few years back but I can attest that we have arrived at that ball of shit in less 40 to 50 years. This planet has been put on fast forward.
If you really see past his seemingly hate for kids, he actually loves children and understands the need to be free of expectations and autocratic parents artificially controlling and paralysing their kids. Totally loves this man.
As amazing as he was, it’s definitely a blessing for him that he passed away when he did. He would definitely be overwhelmingly infuriated with today’s society. However he’d have no shortage of things to complain about.
