George Carlin was not just a Brilliant comedian he was a modern day philosopher. My all time favorite comedian. He made you laugh and more importantly, he made you think.
Reality is often depressing, and he makes it funny and he says TRUTH to the face unlike many comedians. Watching him is like being in a class, but actually learning something as we laugh too.
You and all of the other channels, reacting to Carlin are waking up more and more people. I've been listening to Carlin for almost 50 years. That last part is so true today that you’ll regularly see kids with 4+ gpa go into college and drop out because it’s too hard... absolute retardation what we’ve done to these kids. Fear of hurting their feelings has irreparably hurt their education.
This was shortly before he died and he was noticeably less sharp. I saw him first in 1973 and last right around the time this was taped (over 30 live shows) and while still the master he just wasn't the same guy I had been following for decades. Always the top on my list though and sorely missed....if only we could hear his thoughts on our country now...holy shit.
@@themfnjessiah I love that one but my all time favorite show was when he was touring right after Toledo Window Box came out, he did a ton of material from that and Class Clown combined. One show I was at went over two and half hours (pretty sure that was when he was getting heavy into blow). Sadly there aren't any of those shows on video
@@jandreid1056 I thought this was from that last tour....I saw him in the fall of 07 so about 8 months or so before he died. While he didn't tape his last special until 08 he was already doing the material in his live shows a full year earlier but he often did much of his older stuff in later shows so I'm sure he did some variation of this bit at the one I was at too.

I was thinking the same thing they got mad on Slavery jokes i think this one was not as good as the guy who did the of course but maybe because this guy kind of went too over the top to fantasy land he hit some truth but cartoonized it while the other guy hit more factual thoughts. I am glad im not the only one who noticed this. You deserve another like. No im not some fat slob but it was not done very well nor was it offensive just a lil way over the top for me. when i visited the land of the free in 2009,i was astonished by the portion sizes. we went in a burger bar and the construction they brought to us was MASSIVE !! everything is super sized and the junk you all seem to eat is quite disgusting. of course we have fast food here in England too but the portion sizes are about 50% smaller and the rest of our diet (generally speaking) is balanced up with fruit and veg to flush out those nasty toxin intakes from fast food. and he's right about the size of some people there.we visited dallas and there were these monsters waddling about that didnt look human. but i did meet a heck of a lot of "normal" people too,and nice,especially the manners and charm in the southern states.

As a Carlin fan and someone who has watched every special If you want to get to the grit and less political comedy you have to watch his 90's-00's specials unlike most things comedy is something that gets better with time and he was like that really dirty grandpa lol but in his older specials he was especially political and theatrical because of the Vietnam war and Nixon ect ect try "Phonecall" its hysterical

There was a time when George Carlin was the funniest guy in America, second only to Richard Pryor. But after his wife died, he went completely sour on the world. He remarried, but never got over his first wife's death and ultimately he withdrew into a constant state of rage and depression. The rest of his career consisted of performances that were loaded with political outrage and anti-religious rants. He just wasn't the George Carlin America first fell in love with. R.I.P. George.
