It’s funny how much people laugh at the dung eater in the cutscene and then later finding out he’s literally one of the most evil and vicious characters in the entire game lmao.
"IT GOES THIS MUCH EAST?!" (Caelid) "IT GOES THIS MUCH WEST?!" (Liurnia's full scope) "IT GOES THIS MUCH NOOOORTH?!" (Leyendell) "IT GOES UNDERGROUND!?!?!" (Siofra & co.)
@@lmao_nope The Mountaintops of the Giants is a bit barren compared to the rest of the map, but I guess that's a lore thing too. Still could've added a couple more dungeons/caves
@@Supreme_Court. Give them a break. Its literally just one area that is relatively less populated. And you also just said that it has lore implications as well.
@@lmao_nope Meaningful? Could you elaborate? I felt most exploration was in fact the opposite, and it was only justified by the few meaningful rewards, which served to be exhausting rather than exhilirating. Facing multiples of the same boss was tiring too.
We mostly avoided killing civilians. If we didn't, we would've just bombed every single one of their cities into dust and shot everything that moved. I know that's what US haters imagine we did, but they're dumb so that's to be expected. In reality, the terrorists hid and blended into the cities and the civilians and because the US couldn't just hellfire missile their buildings, they had to take their time instead and clear out buildings one at a time.
@@bababo0oey297 i saw statistic that sad US military killed 13-14k of civilians durin Iraq war (7-8 years right?), and now russians killed around 1.5k civilians in a month.
@@andreygusak 160,000-700,000 civilians died directly (depending on the source, it's disputed heavily), the number of civilians dead from lack of infrastructure/medical care as a result of the war is unknown but estimated to be far higher, likely over a million
@@mildlyupset6011 At first I thought so too with the intro and watching him defile those poor souls praying to the God's that abandoned them, but on a grander scale when he becomes their God, why hop it off to some shit eater? He knows he wants to plunder the world in absolute chaos. It's the long term plan I'm looking at.
This really highlights Sam’s pathology… personally, I felt guilt and sympathy for attacking the defenseless villagers. Not so for Sam. He lives to inflict endless pain and suffering upon them, whereas I always kill the armed guard and attempt to liberate them.
Despite what the mouth breathers in your comments are saying right now, this is a common theory in game development and is why so few "villian" games exist, and the ones that do have to hide it in the story convolutedly like Dark Souls/Elden Ring and Destiny (i know right?)
he does liberate them. he's freed them, given them endless purpose that they will always be able to fulfill. The purpose of suffering for the rest of time to entertain sam.
WOW YEAH HE SAID THAT IN THE VIDEO! THAT HAPPENED IN THE VIDEO! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS IN CASE SOMEONE ENDED UP IN THE COMMENTS WITHOUT EVER THINKING ABOUT WATCHING THE VIDEO
I'm happy to also see you were perfectly able to recreate your own face and put it on your character. Giving your character blonde hair and blue eyes has got to be your biggest power fantasy.
After recently re-watching him, brian, and bizzle playing through dark souls 3 using the first person mod, I feel I can comfortably spoil the rest of this series - They do all the work while Sam sits back in a corner and maybe throws a semi useful spell out here and there lol.
Martin came up with the with every single stat, weapon, and gameplay mechanic as well. This greedy FromSoftware company stole all of it from him and slapped their name on it to garner success and praise. George R R Martin actually wanted to make the game much harder but Miyazaki said that he doesn’t like making difficult challenging games and would much rather make a game with the difficulty akin to a V-Tech/Leap Frog plug-n-play childrens game from the early 2000’s.
@@OhFrittata idk where you got this from but george R.R. martin was in charge of writing elden rings history , what came before the game , and what came before the games before the game . he was responsible of creating the narrative for the games current storyline and bring a real historical lore you can follow into the game . we know more about what came before us than we do about what’s in the game . they didn’t steal it from him it was a good partnership that worked out incredibly well
@@Slender_Man_186 literally every RU-vidr that covers game of thrones is just roasting him bout it and it brings tears to my eyes his confidence to not give a fuck ;-; truly a master of his legacy
The scary thing about Sam is he’s not the guy you’d expect to be psychologically tormenting you and your family before killing you during the apocalypse.
Ah, finally an Elden Ring video I can watch (I can't afford it, so I'm avoiding spoilers as much as possible) because I know there's no way I'll actually learn anything useful from Sam playing a Souls-game.
Wow, I can’t believe it the game even gave him an evaluation of his fighting ability when he swapped to catch flame. It’s right there, in that black rectangle above his equipment slots!
that mechanical kitty cat was the first boss I fought out the tutorial area, in my first soulsborne game. Absolutely terrifying and a 10/10 experience.
@@hannana.4319 Yeah ignore him, entire bollocks. He wrote the mythos of the world and its original setting. Almost all of the demigods, the ancient heroes and old lore were created by him. The development team then brought that mythos far into the future and corrupted it with some classic miyazaki motifs. This information comes from the interviews that Kitao did prior to the release.
It may be a little off topic, but I really appreciate that you introduced me to jippy. His music is so great for just chilling out and torturing defenseless peasants.
I honestly think you have a great knack for making these videos, just everything from the editing, setups, and jokes not to mention the pure genius here. A true class act Sir.
thanks Sam, I appreciate you giving me the pep talk at the end I really needed that to boost my self esteem after my wife and her boyfriend yelled at me for not stopping the microwave at one second so it didn't beep and they could have sex in peace.
dung eater is the most terrifying npc from all fromsoft games so far holy shit, imagine he cursing your soul by desecrating your dead body so hard that your grandchild is cursed as well wtf
Glad you got out of that goddamn cast Mr. Sam. I've appreciated your content for years and I hope to continue to do so. I just hope this video doesn't get lost to time like the goddamn Dark Souls series. The green screen is getting better and better I can tell you really enjoy it.
I saw an interview where Martin went "yeah, they would come show me tech demos and then leave" I genuinely think that's the extent of his involvement with the game lol
@@TheIrishMugFug hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah oh my God bro you are so witty and funny hahahahahahahahahah can't believe you came up with such a cutting insult hahahahah well done sleepy Joe doesn't have shit on you you're so clever it's so cool when people talk about politicians hahahahah oh wow you rule dude let's go brandon
Funny enough, I got that exact feeling Sam had in the intro when I found a bunch of em in the swamp just chilling. It felt badass af summoning the ghoul boys and edge-walking towards them as the boys get to work
I like how Sam is like "There will only be 3 parts because we are busting through it really quick" ........he has no idea wait till he sees the whole map All these replies talking about beating the game in under a certain time......I'm talking content wise sam is prob going to have his hands full of footage. Keep bragging about how your brother beat the speed running record tho
@@decoyhunter8832 You can beat the game in 20 hours on your first run... easily? Tell me you have piss jars under your desk without telling me you have piss jars under your desk.
@@decoyhunter8832 Ah yes. He probably found all of that out by himself. But for real spoiling the game for yourself, using guides and farming exploits doesn't really represent a real playthrough of a game.
These villagers are literally unable to die because of the "curse of the land" with no say in it, which is why they look so goulish, I wanna say you are freeing them from their torment, but really this is just high level bullying with extra steps, steps on someones face who's already wriggeling in the dirt after being punched down so much.
I like how Sam says he "plays the game different" as if we don't already know he plays every game like touching a single ounce of meta will give him a serious rash...
The comment about how long of a process it is to play with friends is so true. I understand they want the main experience to be solo but some people enjoy doing co op thru out an entire play thru. For example I originally hoped it’d be more accessible (even tho the other soul games aren’t) and was gonna do a solo character and a character to play a co op run with friends, come to find out it’s really not worth co op-ing unless your at a fog wall
The Dung Eater is easily one of the most evil NPC in gaming history. Which is weird for something I originally laughed at for basically being a shit-eater
The game is what you make it. Which is why in Rust, I run around with a bucket on my head playing the guitar, eating mushrooms, and giving out free loot. I often befriend the majority of a server and if anyone attacks me, the whole server comes down on them. The game truly is what you make it. :)
