I felt sorry for Philippa. She wanted to change the direction of her daughter and the Empire. Unfortunately this was a change too big to be accepted by Terran culture.
No she went about it to fast she should have removed the problems before she can make change read 40k the emperors son is making a big change but he’s taking his time and being tact full not like here
@@trajan4770 in the second season which i re-watch Phillipa said to larell the klingon chancellor when she rescued her and her baby that she had kids of her own but never took care of them she commented that she wouldn't be able run the empire she actually said get things done so he e r children would take over the empire with the help of her loyalists Lorca would have to be dealt with or whoever the emperor is wouldn't last the year
@@delmardonte906 True but there are instances where actors improvise. If that scream was improvised it may very well have been a genuine expression of shock from Michelle Yeoh. speaking personally? I've rarely not been rattled by a yowling crazy person charging me with a weapon.
Michael is highly emotional in both universes (ironically being raised on Vulcan in the Prime). She also has likely experienced even greater trauma in the mirror. Being Terran, highly emotional, and having a serious survival instinct, her madness makes a lot of sense.
Man, Sonequa sells the death scene so well - shocked eyes in disbelief, drowning in her own blood with blood gurgling out of her mouth, while twitching at the same time. Probably the most brutal, savage and violent death in all of Trek. It's the mirror universe and DSC goes all the way
The sword moved funny when it was thrust through. I noticed it immediately lol. That got by the FX quality control!! It looked so fake like Michael was made of air.
dude its a show get over it they do their best to make it look real and thats all that matters if ya hate the show dont watch it their is enough people that love it to keep it alive
@@warwargr3654 who gives a shit its not a bad show ya all just want star trek to stay 1960 and this is 2020 things have changed this show is going to keep going with or without you us REAL trekky fans will make God dam sure of that
Philippa should never have died in that scene the wound she got could have been taken care of by the medical staff on board in a instant the writing staff are heartless but this was Michelle's last and final good bye on Discovery with a bang
@@liamloxley1222 this happened to phillipa in front of witnesses captain killy and the other ones with her just shrug there shoulders and pretend the fight didn't take place not to mention imperial high command would run an investigation because it was the emperor one more thing someone is going to have to take her place now that she left her home universe to go to the Land of make believe
So... does it mean captain Killy became the next empress in that universe? because she was the most loyal captain of the empire and the highest-ranking officer present at the moment the rebellion was put to death and, of course, the most trusted officer of the empress and an officer capable of putting aside her instinct to look for personal glory in order to do what's best for the stability and interest of the empire.
in this altered Terran timeline Killy probably did become Empress. Because in the one we know Spock became Emperor and that ended rather spectacularly didn't it?
Yeah. All the out of place antagonistic attitudes/dialogue and angsty writing would actually fit in the mirror universe. Even after season 1 where things started to get a little better, it still never quite felt right or "Trek like". Old trek always had it's hefty share of cheese and the occasional poorly written episode too, but it carried a subtle sense of class/dignity. Characters in discovery are (generally) just too pent up and over dramatic.
I thought they actually killed each other with simultaneous knifing blows? Although Georgio’s death is not shown on screen there was a lot of blood seeping out!
Omg, this is so dramatic and epic. How have I not heard of this show before!? Eeee! I know what i'm doing for the next week. Couch old friend Daddys coming home. Also can we talk about the costumes and makeup, A+ my dudes.
MIchelle Yeoh, forever Miss Malaysia, forever martial arts actress/philosopher/teacher and empress. Long Live the Empire! Love seeing her do some of her martial arts in ST.
why is it they only look cool when they are playing their evil counterparts? if starfleet looked like they would have conquered the whole galaxy with drip alone
the only thing that slightly annoys me about this is how the crew members of Discovery somehow are intricate and high (enough) ranking characters in the mirror universe. how does that make any sense?
This has been a thing with all the Mirror Universe episodes in TOS, DS9 and ENT essentially making the main characters major figures in the Mirror Universe. It makes more sense when you think of the MU as a Mirror to our own as opposed to an actual parallel universe
Love just about everything Star Trek. Really want to like this show. This scene is a master class in a B movie script with a massive budget. Only the costumes are nice.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wait, were you serious?
I could watch Georgiou kill Burnham over and over and over and over again. Wish she also killed the Discovery "prime" version of Burnham and end the series on that high note.
I understand and perceive perfectly well. You’re the one who can’t see reality. Like so many others, you are oblivious to your own inner bigoted, racist rhetoric. There is no school for you to go back to....you’re a lost cause.
No thank you Burham is an Eye candy , the things ill do to that woman lol she can be all mary sue and discovery can be woke trash but I just turn my brain off and watch it
TO start, I have nothing against the actress, but I've known some women with attitude like Burnham in real life the way the idiot writers in STD wrote her (both mirror and normal Burnham type). As "hot eye candy" as they are, their attitude is something you'll never be able to settle down with for the long term unless you're also a psychopath to "even" things out. Some crazy chicks are reportedly "amazing" in the sack, but not even I would want to get near a possible psycho. To be honest; a female cousin of mine who's still enlisted in the army says that a woman as insubordinate as Burnham in the show are fast-tracked out of military service with a dishonorable discharge - no demotions, no bothering for a second/third/fourth/what-have-you chance - just a straight up court-martial and kicked out ASAP. And depending on the severity of the infraction for the dishonorable discharge; may include a stay at Leavenworth - be it temporary, or permanently. Unlike Tom Paris from Voyager, whose infraction was about covering up his own accidental pilot error - Burnham's "infraction" was intentionally instigating a mutiny on board her own ship in the very first episode of the goddamn series.
I Feel Happy that Georgeu Failed to change the Empire cause what would be the Point of that they were Created to be like that and if you Reform all the Villains in Trek then that would be no Fun.
Worst....background fighting....ever. Simply no gravity to it, just going through the motions without intent, though the Cinematography certainly didn't do them any favors. Two leads did much better, but could still be improved.
@@donpula6349 While I initially felt sorry for the Emperor, I can only imagine how she must have raised Burnham for her to be so evil and mistrustful even by Terran standards. She reminds me of what we saw with Mirror Kirk in the TOS episode.
Sind die wirklich so unfähig grundlegende Prinzipien auseinanderzuhalten? Sind die wirklich so unfähig dazu? Sternenflotte ... ade. Wird nie was werden, wenn man mit solchen Einstellungen solche Projekte angeht.
