The acting from every single actor in this scene is perfection. Look at each individual performance. Analyze it. Spectacular. All four actors are all time greats.
when Richard Pryor hit's the warden but then realised what he did,his reaction was priceless.. Pryor and Gene Wilder are two of the best ever..I remember me being a very young boy maybe 7 or 8 and my asked my to watch this with him and I moaned and said I don't want to watch an old man film, but what do you know it is one of my favorite films ever and I have a priceless memory of me and my dad to boot.
Brian Houston omg omg my dad said exsacly the same thing to me he told me I wouldn't like it you would find it boring my dads face was priceless when I laughed from start to finish this is now my all time fav miss gene and Richard
Joseph Mccracken Richard Pryor died in 2005. The person you're referring to from Sanford and son isn't Richard Pryor. That's Damond Wilson known as on that show as Lamont or dummy ... He's still alive though..

@Red & White Tigers At that point in his life the story is likely true. Mel Brooks gave the script to John Wayne and asked him to play the role Gene Wilder played. Wayne thought the script was funny but declined because of the off color humor that didn't fit his image.
Don't honestly know how many times I've watched this film. It still makes me laugh until I cry every time. Truly amazing. Love both these actors. R. I. P. X
I remember watching this movie the day after Gene Wilder died and I’ve never laughed so much! RIP Wilder and Prior two absolute comedy legends! (Look Ma, I’m dancing! 😆)
Gene wilder would do some of these things off the cuff, like climbing on the bull backward, brilliant comedy actor and me and my son laughed all the way through, he’s 7 and loves this scene! 😂😂😂😂😂
There are a lot of times where they totally break character in this movie, making each other crack up. 02:31 Craig T. Nelson doing his best not to smile here.
Four great actors in this vignette; Pryor & Wilder of course, and C.T. who can play A-holes better than just about anybody, and last but not least veteran stage and screen actor Barry Corbin. Who's "Cousin Ellis" finally reveals the mystery of "No Country For Old Men"
Also played Uncle Bob in Urban Cowboy as well as in Clint Eastwood's Any Which You Can as the Rich Texas bettor. Also plays great in anything he's in. I saw him in a Columbo episode as well.
I’d say it’s tied with the scene where they first meet their giant cell mate & start crying. I also luv Gene’s reaction to the verdict during the courtroom scene. “WHA?!...WHA?!...WHA?!”
love this bit,me n me mate knew every bit of dialogue on this flm when we were at school, been a fan of Wilder n Pryor ever since, two totally different comedy legends, this is by far ,their best outing...GREAT MOVIE!!!!
Incredibly images with late intelligent Gene Wilder, Richard Pryor in successful and talented 1980 Stir Crazy and pure Comedy guaranteed and ride on crazy Horse!
2:27 Two things : 1) the immediate regret of Pryor's face after hitting the warden was brilliant, i must have re-watched this part like 20 times, it was that funny. 2) This "air fist" and the scream "wohoo" reminded me of Luigi / Mario. Just look at the resemblance.
R.I.P Gene Wilder and Richard Pryer, I enjoy all their films. Stir crazy would have to be my all time favorite next to blazing saddles, first time I watched this with dad I couldn't stop laughing. This scene was great
