Emotionally independent for the win. That is what it's all about. But if [we] don't work on ourselves during this down time, it is all for nothing. Rumination is normal in the beginning. But think of it as passing through a tunnel. At first the opening behind you is large. With time it gets smaller and smaller, and less inviting to re-enter. It is when the tunnel is no longer beckoning you to return that you are free to make an informed decision - yes emotions are involved too. Go back armed with knowledge and the self-respect that YOU ARE THE PRIZE. You do not take them back a consolation prize. It's got to be an 'equal' desire for fulfillment and enrichment for both.

It’s tough because time is an ally with no contact, but the time seems to move so slow. It’s a catch 22 of sorts. I find myself going to bed 4 or 5 hours earlier than usual just to get to the next day

I went no contact for 6 weeks and reached out and asked to catch up. She said yea we can catch up when I grab my things. She came over, we laughed had fun, she could see the difference and said I'm looking great! I then gave her a letter when she left, didn't beg in the letter just said a couple of nice things but then said I would like to try again with us so reach out when your ready, no pressure and I respect any boundaries. That was 1 week ago today. I dont think I will ever hear again from her and I'm hurting so badly. 😢Back to no contact, I'm not reaching out again...... I keep waking up in the middle of the night sweating and then it all re sets every day. I'm hurting heaps. I wish I never reached out as it was so hard seeing her again.

I was incredibly close to his family and yesterday his Mum text me to say that he is really struggling and even drove to our special place yesterday. Been through this...but went from NC to radio silence which technically I never was on social media. He's contacting you to get an ego stroke, an emotional high; to test to see where your head is at. You have to shut that down. This cycle will only make you feel less valued, anxious and confused. It's so disrespectful and devaluing. I'm not suggesting he doesn't feel regret or care about you. But the dynamic you have with him now is only serving him.
It is only serving him if you let him.. when he contacts just dont say anything needy like 'omg i was so miserable without you please come back' say 'i am fine. Hope you are too'. And if they want to meet then do so and if they ask if you want to try again say you want to take it slow and if they say they just want to be friends, politely say you aren't interested in being their friend, then go back to no contact

My wife moved out last month. Tomorrow she is picking up the rest of her stuff. It hurts but I’m keeping it cool and not begging or making it hard for her. I respect her decision so for now I’m just working on myself. Hopefully she gives our relationship another chance however if she doesn’t I’ll at least be a better version of myself.

We are nearing a month since she left me. While I have since maintained NC, it was not without its difficulties. The weekend of, I buried myself into 4k in debt over a weekend while drinking, gambling, and going to clubs. Of course i was just as miserable when it ended. Its been a few weeks since then, and Ive completely gone sober and have not taken a single day off from either running or going to the gym. Im beginning to get out of my hole financially and feel more comfortable alone than I ever was with her. I did have to block her on social media, as a single photo of her going out nearly caused a relapse. Feeling great, and im choosing to have good days, I will not be at the mercy of my emotions. Im frankly torn at the prospect of her reaching out, a part of me longs for her, though another wants my struggle to continue as its come with so much benefit to my life. Thanks for the vids!

The no contact strategy does work, only if the situation is right for a return. Beware though of buyers remorse which happens after you do go back, she/he is willing but keep in mind that it will never be the same again. So be prepared for change especially your own change!

One piece of advice i can give you is I held onto hope of hearing from her for over a year and i wasted a lot of time waiting for her. Still have not heard from her and its been 2 years. Don’t waste time waiting on someone that doesn’t give a shit!
Me too girl, me too. Somedays I feel energetic and think it’s not my loss, I’m pretty, I’m smart, I’m kind etc. But somedays I feel down and seems like no one will love me like he did. Anyway, I understood that don’t beg a man to stay. If he wanted, he would. We need to love ourselves more than we loved them. They are just ordinary people and our energy and our feelings made them special. They are nothing without our energy. Keep going and cry out as much you are sad. One day tears will stop.

It was June 1st when the breakup happened. I reached out and just said "hey". I got no response I don't even know if they looked at it. I've been watching your videos to see what I could do to help with getting them back. I'm in no contact it has been almost a week. She feels nothing towards me. 10 years sadly meant nothing to her. It still hurts and I wish I could let go. For what reason do I care about someone that never loved me. I genuinely believed putting in the work would allow for a way back together. She got a chance to see it and didnt care for it in the slightest. Now given all I've learned, i see so much more the issues she brought. The lies i was smeared with. The guilt i carried for things i didnt need to. I dont know how to accept this waste that is my life. All those extremely valuable things i gave her i can never give to anyone else. I wish i had never met her.
I broke up with him because of his past trauma. He recently came into realization of his past hurt. Hopefully he gets therapy or help. 5 days NC. It's hard, confusing, and painful, but you don't die from it. We'll see what the future holds. Time is part of the recipe.

Dear Exes, sometimes it's really not you who are at fault. Sometimes you find out that you are being gaslit after discovering your ex has a whole wife and you got dumped because you found out and confronted.
I’ve only ever experienced a partner dumping me and coming back once. Worst mistake getting back with them the way I did. I don’t think it will happen with someone else now that I want it to. It hasn’t been that long, but I did try to get us to save it, they still said no. I said I respect the decision and they needed to respect mine to not be friends. Sounded more sad to lose me as a friend than as a partner. Working on myself either way. I need someone who will love me enough to admit their faults when a relationship gets wonky instead of putting all the blame and need to change on just me, when we’re actually triggering each other.

It's not always about who's more attractive. My ex clearly told me many times that I am way more attractive than her. And I do agree. Particularly physically. And she still broke up with me because of small arguments where her ego got bruised. Besides she has long history of breaking up with every previous boyfriend after both short and long realationships and never coming back to any of her many exes. Also what holds a relationship is love or lack of it. And in my particular case I wasn't as much attracted to her but I loved her. And with her she always seemed so much attracted to me, but her love wasn't too deep on the other hand. That's the difference. And after 3 months since the break up. I don't think she's ever coming back. Besides I don't want her by now.

After 11 months, and the last three months completely no contact, she texted me and said she’d been having bad dreams about me. Did I want to get together and talk…? I was very excited and thought, “It worked!” I went to see her, and she used the occasion to tell me she was dating someone. It was one of the worst moments I can remember. My wife left me 1 month ago. I was doing good with no contact , and then my father died, I told her how much I needed her and got nothing. Doing. No contact has been hard, but we have kids together. Still getting text daily and seeing her every couple of days. This makes it so hard.

After nearly 3 year's I don't think so about him doing anything. 19 months of no contact and still nothing so it's time to move on. Been time. I know this. It hurts some still that. I never got the chance to explain I wasn't doing what he accused me of and was blind sided by the whole thing that our friendship wasn't what I thought. Perfect Timing on this video Coach Lee: I'm at the point on my journey where I've begun to have some feelings about the control element and the valuing, that I realize lies with the one who distanced themselves. Logically, I get that they are the one that stepped back and its their option to decide when and how long it will take to come to a decision to either move forward with their lives, or attempt a reunion. But it is the one who was left that has to deal with being static; frozen. In my case, that's me. I'm having a hard time with the reality that I have no control over this situation and that someone else will determine if I'm worth a second look and what value that will have to them, on a go forward basis. I also accept that the only way out of this quandary personally, is to move forward in my own life as a solitary individual; while someone else is deciding about the relationship. But I'd just like to say, it feels lousy. Yes, I'm moving forward. Yes, I'm personally prospering as a result. But it still feels lousy to have this hanging out there. We have had several contacts since this life adventure started in November, but its settled into a once a month event. I'm suspecting that this is my new "level" of value. And now its up to me, to come to accept things as they stand with this relationship and move forward with me life, without it as it was. Its occurring to me that I need to learn a whole new set of skills to deal with relationships in the future. I'm looking forward to keep living and learning. I begged and pleaded at least once a month for the past 3 months. She’s now unfollowed me on everything after viewing my stories a day or two prior so not sure how she’d go about seeing anything now, also told me she wants me to move on and hopes I can heal so I don’t see how she would change her mind after doing all that as she can be pretty hard headed and even if she’s tempted, would prolly not go thru with reaching out. I find its harder to have a relationship after the break-up. They come back, but all the same issues are there. BOTH parties need to want to fix what caused the break to begin with otherwise you'll just break up again.

We all have been living a lie with her, been stringing me along, our son was born 5 months ago, been sitting by myself every holiday, only going to ultrasounds, the last 15 months I've been by myself. She called my mom at the beginning of June and put on a good show. My mom didn't tell me they talked, and told her he's ready to start seeing other people. I thought things were good in July, days later, after going to my mom's with our son & talking on the way, I told her to say she was mine and did. I thought things were good and felt like a family. I was dead wrong. 4 days after that, she told me she wanted to get 'back into the grove' of work after 3 months of maternity leave. In the last 2 months, almost since she's been distant and not communicating like she used to after being hot and cold the last 15 months. This isn't post partem, clear as day she's been stringing me along.
Almost 8 months of NC here. I'm stronger, and it's getting easier and easier with NC. My Fiancé and girlfriend of 4 years broke up with me during a 1-2 month span of depression i was experiencing. I told her about it ans she broke up with me the same night saying she doesnt love me anymore. This is harder then anything ive ever experienced. We rode so close together such a strong relationship for 4 years. And shit got hard for 2 months and she dipped. Ive started no contact yesterday, i want her back badly but im also scared of what shes capable off, im afraid its done for good. Either way i need to be stronger, god help me get there
good luck i know my words wont mean much but just keep going with your life and don’t give up on anything you currently do. Try finding motivations, distractions or new hobbies and possibly go out with friends or anything and try improving yourself. This has been working for me and its really shattered me and made me depressed but doing all of that has been helping a lot so again good luck.

No contact always worked for me - I had 3 major break ups including the last one. The problem now is that after 3 children you can’t go no contact - you can only go smart contact. My ex partner broke the no contact but doesn’t want me back. he acts like we r just friends, he calls me every day (not like he used to which was all the time). I got to a point where I had to ask him ‘how do you do that? Like switching the flick off like is nothing?..I really wanted to be like you but I’m not’. I wanted just to disappear…the thought of leaving my beautiful home in a desirable part of London is even coming to mind now. He expect me to go on family outings but for me its so hard. I don’t feel I’m being sincere pretending it’s okay and is harming my mental health.

My ex and I broke up like a month ago, the relationship ended cuz we had some issues being the main cause lack of time cuz he worked 9 hours a day in split schedule, we had some pretty bad fights towards the end due to saturation on my side, so after a week without no contact he agreed to meet and we got back together, but after another week he ended and said once again he felt like he doesn’t love me anymore, he just remembers the bad stuff and he said he wants to be by himself. He broke up with me three days ago, after a 3 year relationship …I poured my heart out and was emotional, making it clear I don’t want this. Yesterday was the first day no contact and now we’re on day 2. All over the phone bc he is 4 hours away. I have had a surgery planned for next month and he said he’s still more than happy to take me and make sure I’m safe like he promised - I’m so devastated and sick over this. He’s my rock and best friend and I’ve been completely blindsided - we have our ups and downs nothing major and with long distance and seeing each other every few weeks it is hard. But it’s so worth it if we both work on ourselves and communicate. I told him we are both imperfect but I love him for who he is. I am in the guilt stage wondering what more I could have done and seeing now I should have made more initiation to make plans to see him etc while we were together. My ex who I was with for 20+ yrs cheated and ultimately left me for the other woman, at first it was hard for me to be civil towards him but I started NC and I did have a moment of weakness due to my bday and a little bit of alcohol and I reached out after 2 months of NC and of course I didn't get the response that I wanted and felt horrible after breaking NC and so I'm back in NC again and not to try and get him back but to focus and work on the reasons on my part that led to our break up, it is very hard bc I've been dealing with an emotional rollercoaster and he seems to be off living his best life

26 years here. She didn't cheat but she immediately jumped into another guy's bed the night she left. And she proudly declared that she never cheated. But it's certainly clear thar she wanted someone else. And then she has the nerve to say our breakup has nothing to do with other people but just our issues. My ex has been casually messaging me consistently since she dumped me after our 3 year relationship. She told me 1month after the breakup that she's seeing someone new. It has now been 2 and a half months since the breakup and I'm on the vacation that we were supposed to go on together while she's taking care of my cat. When I woke up this morning she had messaged 30 min ago "good morning i love you ❤" when i read the message she quickly deleted it and wrote: ohh, that wasn't meant for you! I'm sorry... My heart is aching. This vacation was already bittersweet before this message. I have no clue what to respond. I trying to stay strong and work on myself and forget her but I still am in the position where I want to see a future with her.
She is trying to make you jealous, she probably knows you still have feelings for her, and making you jealous gives her satisfaction. It gives her an ego boost knowing that you still have feelings for her while she gets the time of her life with her new boyfriend. Ignore her. Even better if you block her from everything. Trust me I know it’s hard but you will feel better in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was already seeing her new boyfriend while she was still with you as she moved on very easily despite being with you for 3 years.

I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and think it's an extremely poorly timed mistake but if that was the case, Who says good morning i love you with a heart to someone they've been dating for maximum 2 months? Assuming they started meeting after she broke up with me. If i was the guy she was dating that would be abit of a red flag... When i was dropping off the cat she mentioned that she was going up north next week for 10 days to see her dad. She hinted that she is not going alone and I'm assuming it's not a friend who wants to go there with her since there would be no reason for her to withhold the name. I brushed it off and didn't focus on that part of the subject. One part of my brain wants to believe that she is having second thoughts about going with this guy and it tells me that she wants me to react in some way to stop her but at the same time i'm not sure if that really would be beneficial to me in any way... Still, at the moment, as long as it's her who realised she made a mistake and wants me back i would probably be fine with being the backup but i would very reserved about it and want to take it slow. Despite us both being 30 it was both of ours first "real" long relationship and i learned alot of mistakes that i don't wanna repeat and also alot of mistakes that she made. Since i am focusing on moving on though it might be that my feelings have changed completely once she changes her mind.. in the beginning of the relationship i was a completely different person than I was in it and I feel like I am returning to that person i was before now. She was the one chasing me in the beginning while i was abit uncertain about committing. Also after the breakup i told her twice that i need some time alone to forget her. And still every time she has been the one to initiate contact with pointless messages about our cats or pictures of her and her cat... I always responded in a neutral polite way. I don't know if i can muster that strength of completely blocking her yet. I still am dreading the thought of finally forgetting her and not caring about her anymore...
A lot of people say “I love you” to someone they’ve only been seeing for just a short while. Now she might really mean it when she tells this other guy “I love you” but I really do think that this guy is just a rebound and she’s just trying to make you jealous by sending that message. Maybe she doesn’t really love this guy and she’s just infatuated. I think this woman is playing mind games with you and that’s why I think the best way to go is to just ignore her and maybe you should just take your cat back since it’s yours anyway and so that she can’t bother you anymore. If she wants to come back to you in the future that’s her problem, it’s not your job to fix what she broke.
