Giannis Antetokounmpo won his first NBA title last night and did it with the team (Milwaukee Bucks) that drafted him eight years ago. After the game, Giannis threw some shade at superteams while not talking about leaving Milwaukee, saying quote 'this is my city, they believed in me...I want to get the job done, it's easy to go somewhere and go win a championship with someone else..this is the hard way to do it and we did.' Marcellus Wiley, Emmanuel Acho, and Ric Bucher debate whether Giannis' title means more than others who left to win a ring.

When you're a top 10 player joining other top 10 players you're less responsible for the championship and each superstar gets less credit. That's why Giannis ring means more. You're decreasing your level of competition by joining forces with the best players instead of facing them. Would we respect Jordan if after losing to the Pistons he joined the Pistons? If KD got 1 ring with OKC wouldn't we respect that more than his 2 with Golden State?

I would have to disagree. The take was talking about if giannis ring means more. His ring means more to him for staying but there are tons of all time greats that have stayed with there original team and won championships. What set these teams and players apart are there legacies (i.e. Jordan winning 6 championships and never going to a game 7 in the finals), Tim Duncan winning 5 chips, etc...the paint is still wet on Giannis career this could very likely be his one and only title or he could win multiple championship.

If he only wins one in his career as a two time MVP is that a disappointment? if you count this as two or three championships then is he in the same company as KD, Shaq, Kareem Abdul Jaber, or Lebron (players that left their original times) since his title means more. That makes absolutely nonsense. A title is a title especially if you are the best player on the team when you win it. At the end of the day this is all subjective and i disagree with you. Giannis did it like MJ, did it like Dirk. Thats the difference! He didnt go to a team with a stacked roster or another superstar waiting for him or both! He didnt quit on the organization that drafted him! He stayed in a small market team and by ascending his game he pushed Middleton to keep up and also pushed the Bucks front office to keep up. And it worked !!!! Those kind of Rings are worth much more than the superteams ones! FACTS! And to finish and to make people understand why this Chip of Giannis s is worth much more .....imagine what will happen if for example Giannis teams up with Luka !!! Its over for the League !!! Easy !!!!! So give Giannis his respect and thank him for not teaming up. Now he wants to make the Bucks a dynasty! That boy is crazyyyyyyy! It's true it matters most to Giannis and fan's of his and the team as well. What to me was funny is that they were comparing them to other title that stick out in memory so actually in a lot of ways the story behind the ring matters as well. Wiley is such a mark for Superteams! This ring the Bucks won is historic for the last few years on so many levels. With the exception of Golden State first ring, don’t sleep on that championship either. Golden State already won a title before KD Lebron title when he went back to Cleveland was also impressive, that was not a Super Team either

It obviously is subjective which rings mean more because Lebron's ring in Cleveland doesn't technically mean more than his 2 in Miami and KD if he ever wins in Brooklyn doesn't technically mean more than his warrior rings, but for the spirit of the game he'll yea it does and Giannis ring means more to the game than a super teams ring. I WOULD EVEN SAY LEBRONS LAKERS TITLE LAST YEAR MEANS MORE THAN HIS HEAT TITLES AND KD'S TITLES BECAUSE OF HOW IT CAME ABOUT AND HE WASNT ON A SUPER TEAM.

Wiley likes who he likes...Clippers, Durant et al and also able to work out arguments against those he is not down with, ala Giannis, Jordan, Baker Mayfield. I liked his arguments more when he was with espn and when he hosted the show with Jason Withlock. Then he was an analyst, now his arguments his based on his biases and the perceived intelligence he exhibits-pride.

First of all, Giannis never saids that his ring means more than others. He saids that he could have joined a good team like lakers, net, golden states and win a ring easily( like KD did) but he decided to stay and take the harder road. Only haters will pretend to not understand what he meant even though they understand very well.

Also there’s a difference between Giannis in the beginning and Lebrons beginning, Giannis used to just be another bad member of the bucks whereas Lebron had to DRAG the Cavs around. Where the bucks and Giannis got better over the course of his career until now(including PJ and Jrue), the Cavs p much stayed the same. Plus ppl act like LeBron left after 1-2 years or something, he was there for almost a decade, a full 7 years before deciding that the mediocrity of Cleveland wasn't it for him, Giannis has only been in the league as of the end of this year for 8 yrs and wasn't it this past summer (7th yr) that ppl wondered if Giannis was leaving? All in all I still want to congratulate Giannis, he is still one of my favorite players and I want to see him win more

I don't care what anybody says, this championship definitely means more than either of Lebron's rings in Miami and definitely more than Kevin Durant's rings in Golden State. On par if not slightly more than Toronto's ring and definitely on par with the first two Kobe & Shaq rings. Definitely also on par with Lakers 2010 championship against Boston.

This dude is reading into things wayyyyyyy too much. Giannis taking a few minutes by himself to soak it in, before going to celebrate with his teammates and fans...is fine. Everyone responds in their own way. He was not rude or disrespectful. Not did he specifically call out certain players. He never called out Toronto. He never said it was the greatest championship of all time. He just said, the did it their way. Stayed the course. Did it organically. Kept working to get better. He didn't bail on Milwaukee to go join a Super Team. And there is something to be said for that. I'm sure fans in smaller markets will appreciate it more.
