Purchased a 1948 Super Speed (apparently broken, because doors wouldn't open when knob turned) for about 8 of your Dollars (5-6 UK pounds) from the USA. Placed the razor in a container on a piece of kitchen foil (think you say aluminium), sprinkled baking soda over, added a couple of spoons of white vinegar to start the fizz then covered in boiling water. Soaked for about 15 mins. Gave a clean with a toothbrush (makes it shiny) and then voila...the doors came unstuck! Undid screw (turn clockwise to undo) to remove screw and knob, cleaned inside and added a couple of drops of mineral oil, then put it back together again. However, when the doors became unstuck I got the drop knob issue (have to laugh, in the UK a knob means a blokes fella, so this sounds painful!), but no matter what i did I couldn't fix it. Thankfully I found your video, which did the trick in a couple of seconds! thank you very much, your a top man! Forgot to say, you'll need a special screwdriver for the screw, just file a dip in the middle of an old screwdriver so you've got 2 prongs, which will work on the security screw. Thanks again
I found your YT channel some time ago and I'm wondering if you have any plans to make new video's? They were very interesting and it's a shame you don't record them anymore. Well, hope you're doing fine. Take care and write back if you can.
