Girls Und Panzer Character Analysis: Katyusha 

Vertically challenged Stalin is the best Stalin.

Katyusha is the brains of Pravda but it is Nonna who is the brawn. The manga "Saga of Pravda" shows the rise to power of Katyusha and how the fiercely loyal Nonna makes sure everyone obeys Katyusha. Fun fact is that Nonna and Katyusha are the same age but at some point Katyusha simply stopped growing whereas Nonna is unusually tall and adult looking for her age. Katyusha also fears Maho Nishizumi (Miho's older sister) and the anime shows this in "Der Film" where a simple glance of Maho silences Katyusha.

Katyusha is one of the main reasons why I watched GuP, I remember receiving a video from a friend, in that video there was a platoon of Soviet tanks crossing a snowy plain, and inside one of these tanks there was a small gremlin with sharp eyes singing Katyusha, in the description of the video there was only the text: "You should watch Girls und Panzer". The best decision ever.

Ah yes, we come to the bear cub of Pravda. I always love the scene where Anzu and Momo watch Katyusha climb on to Nonna's shoulders. One of the things that I like about Katyusha is her aggressive style and the dedication she gets from here fellow students. Can't wait for Nonna's character analysis.

Fun Fact: Alice Shimada, who is a literal child, is taller at 4 ft 6 in, compared to Katyusha's 4 ft 2 in.

Katyusha is such an amazing character. In Saga of Pravda, she actually displays a lot of emotional intelligence and conviction: Spoilers During Miho's rescue, rather than being maniacal and laughing at the advantage they had from Miho saving the drowning team, she was actually struggling between letting it pass or, the gamble of shooting Kuromurmine while their Vice was busy. She knew damn well how bad that would look. And she owned all of that. Even going out of her way to protect the younger Pravda's from Journos looking to harass them in a smear campaign for her "Ruthless" victory.

I am stuck in a cycle of rewatching GuP, please help, I need to study for exams.

perfect timing for this because i just finished rereading saga of Pravda xD phenomenal video ascendant!!

In Der Film, the sacrifice was started by Nina and Alina in their KV2, not Nonna and Klara. Plus the interaction between Katyusha and Erika becomes much clearer at the end of Der Film. After the sacrifice she gets in the same group as Erika and ends the movie on Erika's shoulders. She is a great character, beloved by her whole team, especially Nonna and Klara.

In a way, katyusha and the rest of the Pravda team serve as need a wall. Despite her height, katyusha acts as a you must be this tall to ride moment. A gives a bit of a warning to Miho as to how mutch more challenging the last match will be.

I can certainly relate with nonna and klara in the way they treat katyusha...as id be no different. I simp quiet a bit for russian girls and katyusha is no different. Shes a cute little tsundere in my eyes and that makes her incredibly beloved by me. And the same goes for nonna, klara and even nina and alina who have gotten at least some more spotlight in dream tank match. Overall,the russian school is probably my favorite in gup in regards to the characters, tanks and battles...and thats only partially because im a huge KV2 simp as well xd

Katyusha is the greatest commander in the history of Pravda! And her gloriousness cannot be contained! Katyusha is just an amazing multidimensional character who is an arrogant prideful leader, but also respectful and humble in defeat. Katyusha is also pretty cute funny when she goes all chunni and goes really into Pravda's inspiration. But she's also a great capable leader who's very competent and has the love and admiration of her teammates. Katyusha may be funny, but she's not a joke character. Ahd she's not treated as a one-note villain to be humiliated and thrown away. She's a great well written character who is capable, respectful, and honorable. She's peak Girls und Panzer, like you said. Mini-Stalin is a fantastic character and a perfect addition to the Girls und Panzer roster of commanders. The Great Katyusha's splendor will not be contained nor her glory denied! For Katyusha!! For Pravda!! For Senshado!! URAH!!!

If it weren't for the spoilers, I'd totally show people this video series to try and get them into GuP. I know a lot of people who I think would love this show if they knew a lot about it. I find it hard to explain just how great this show is without explaining the ins and outs of it. Either way, I love this series you're doing, and it really points out things about GuP that I like that I didn't realize before. I'm gonna have to go back and watch all the episodes I've missed.

One of the more bizarre thing in this show is the relationship between Katyusha and Nonna it's kind of that of a mother and daughter but the mother is EXTREMELY obsessed with her daughter to the point that in the manga ( sadly i haven't read the manga ) in one of the panels Nonna pretty much tries to breast feed her commander which i mean we all want that but it's kind of a bizarre thing to do in such a manga/anime!

I entered GuP with no prior knowledge. I just saw a Blu-ray in my recommendations on amazon (I legit never bought something even remotely related to GuP, but idk, I'm not complaining) and said ok. And I immediately fell in love with it. Katyusha was one of the best parts. I love her lowkey narcissism but still friendly and caring personality. She's highly intelligent and very skilled, but her overconfidence is what hurts her in her losses. But seriously Katyusha, learn some Russian
