GM HOLDEN 308 V8 Build Part 4 (Rocker covers and waterpump) 

Rebuilding my wifes old 308 ...so thought i would watch a refresher video as its been a while since I've done one. Boys what a great video to watch...i appreciate the time to film , edit and post. Very informative. Paul from Beaconsfield.

best engine ever made . i run 400hp out of my 308 for years and years . twin point , high rise manifold, 780dp loved it

Quite similar looking to the Oldsmobile engines of the day with a big block Chrysler oil pump.

Top stuff, great information on how to prime these engines. keep it up.

I once packed a 308 oil pump with Vaseline with a fresh rebuild…. 20 seconds after start up I’m holding it at 2 1/2 RPM to break the cam in and the Vaseline plugged the oil filter and blew it off the motor….. Huge mess…. These days I see in the USA they prime the motor with an old dizzy shaft and a cordless drill…. Wish I had of known that back in 1989……

why not show the inlet going on? so much detail and missed many

seriously painting the outside of rocker covers but leaving them clearly rusted on the inside and installing them and calling that good.
