Hello friend, I saw your video and I would like to get a question right, I took my th400 transmission to be repaired but it did not make the third change, I already changed the governor, modular, converter, and it continues the same, now to your great experience what will be the problem for which Does the third change not make the transmission? please help
Hi Samuel, when you say “third change” do you mean third gear? If so, are you saying it doesnt shift into third gear at all (ie it stays in second gear no matter what you do) or can you feel it upshift from second gear but instead of grabbing third gear, it feels like it’s in neutral?
@@nickstransmissions exact friend, it does the first and second gear and from there it no longer does the third gear and you accelerate it and it does not do it as you say, it seems that it was neutral and it no longer advances.
If it feels like its in neutral then the direct clutch is burnt, center support stator sealing rings are worn and/or the lip seals in the drum are torn. Either way, the transmission needs to come out so those things can be checked and replaced. Governor problems show up as no or upshift/downshift; vacuum modulator valve and modulator issues cuase late or inconsistent shift timing (trans fluid inside the hose going to the modulator indicates its diaphragm is torn). The valve body is responsible for sending apply oil to each clutch circuit when governor pressure oil acts on the shift valve (very rough, h/l explanation). All those things seem to be working in your trans.
hello friend, all the clutch discs were put new, I took the mechanic all the new kit for that transmission, everything works well the detail is that the third gear does not enter, the governor already changed it and also the module, the hose Vacuum too, but still the same so does third gear.
They may have been replaced but if you’re “neutralizing” in third gear, that’s going to be either burnt frictions, cut lio seals or sealing rings. Third gear apply oil is making it through the valve body so either apply oil is getting to the piston but the piston isn’t applying due to cut lips seals, apply oil is applying the piston but the clutch is burnt or apply oil isnt making it due to cut stator sealing rings. Do you have reverse? If so, could be the inner lip seal on the piston got cut but the drum seal and outer piston lip seal are fine.
Nothing specific to just improving oil flow that im aware of. Depending on your application, there are other VB mods that can be done to achieve certain things (example: blocking off the 2-3 accumulator for high stall applications when dual feeding the direct clutch internally). The th400 rebuild i filmed covers the internal dual feed). I Would need to know more about the vehicle’s intended use, engine power, converter stall speed, etc to recommend anything in particular.
