MY SON AND I MADE A HOMEMADE JACKSHAFT FOR OUR GO KART. ITS A GREAT WAY TO OFFSET YOUR FRONT SPROCKET SO THAT IT LINES UP WITH YOUR REAR SPROCKET. THANK YOU FOR CHECKING OUT OUR VIDEO.

balabay77 hey prevet guys!! Great video!! I just bought the same chassis go kart in excellent condition also complete with everything on it like yours . I bought all the parts, new predator engine and everything. I was wondering if you guys can help me out with mounting a few things on it. I noticed you live right by me. If you can please help me out that would be great. I could bring it to you and we can put the parts on! Please let me know Thanks a lot guys!!! By the way ya tozje ruski .
Kade Spade Hey buddy how are ya? Yeah the seat is sturdy and looks nice as well. This kart was listed on Craigslist for several months and the guy was selling all separate like motor, frame and seat. He was forced to sell it because he needed the money. I talked him into selling the frame and seat together. I think this kart is a keeper LOL.
With a pod filter, jetted carb, and exhaust along with removal of the governor, that predator will easily hit 12-20 horsepower. You should look into that, they're very simple modifications
Austin Willis Thanks for the tip and advice. I'll look into getting a kit for this engine. Do you know any sites that specialize in all that? Cheers mate
Walmart sell a stage 1 & stage 2 upgrade for that harbor freight 212 motor - stage 1 will make it go from 6Hp to 6.5-7Hp and stage 2 will make it go up to 8HP - but you need to remove the governor & it will do 50mph
Carlos rosario We usually type in go kart or sometimes people list them as carts. Also look in ATV section because that's where you'll find many listings for them. Try shifter kart or racing kart as well. Good luck with your search.
Ok guys i hope u put the spring end in the number 1 or 2 hole then try your kart again and watch what happens when you give some gas better hold on and possibly be ready to be looking at the sky as this littlle adjustment is like giveing the cvt a stall torque converter try it youll like it
what is that part you added to the torque converter to bring the sprocket to the other side!! I just got my first go kart its a top kart with a 2stroke kt100 and have been wanting to swap to a built 212 but because my axle doesn't have a key for the gear to sit on the side id usually needs too so I haven't done it but this is a PERFECT solution !!!! PLEASE LMK ASAP got a guy with a awesome motor that I've been making wait for too long because this issue
MIKE TV Yes sir we live in Sac and indeed we got this kart on Craigslist. Lol Glad you were inspired and I hope some day we'll get to see your project on RU-vid. Thanks for watching. Cheers
Could you do a video on the braking system? Master cylinder and caliper set up. I'm running the same Brembos and I'm having trouble finding the right master cylinder.
Diego Campos To be honest with you I don't know much about these karts and the braking system. I would imagine that any master cylinder that have the right brake line connectors would work just as good as the original. All 3 of my go karts comes with MCP master cylinders. So your best bet would be to match MCP cylinder with your brembo caliper. Does you brake disc caliper have 2 line connectors or just one? What type of brake lines, 3/16 nylon tubing or braided stainless steel hoses?
Hello Bill When your rig (go kart, Minibike or whatever you’re using it for) is idling there should be no tension on the belt. Once you place the belt on the driven pulley, it should freely go on the motor shaft with maybe a small tolerance just enough for it to be loose. Watch some videos of people install these torque converters on mini bikes or go karts and you’ll notice how loose it should be. Good luck and I hope I explained it well enough for you to visualize it. Cheers.
Thats a trackmagic kart a 125cc chassis. your missing the chassis torsion bar i broke a clamp they dont make them i got mine for 250 with a 250crf honda motor im still working on it i need to do a lot of mounting but itll be dope if the engine is good. I wish they still made parts but the company is no longer around since 2006.
Its a gokart, most ONLY have a rear brake on a solid axel. The front brakes are a liability because gokarts lift a rear wheel while cornering, and any braking of the fronts will spin the kart round. Im adding front brakes to my gokart this week, the upgrade cost is about £1000, £850 for the brakes, £250 for a 10mm kingpin set, and 4x5dot caster/camber adjusters. They will be hand braked on my kart, with rears using the foot brake. In addition, the brakes im fitting are not even race legel now, as most racing organisations are banning them. I think only the big shifter karts still use them.
Danny Halili From motor shaft to jackshaft or from driver pulley to driven pulley is 5.5 (5-1/2) inches. From motor shaft to rear sprocket on the axle is 12 inches. Good luck.
Thanks for the info David. Many of these frames look identical so it's hard to figure out who made them. In any case, these frame are solid and fun to ride.
Did you half to make that mount and run the gear on the outside? Could you have used the jackplate the way it came? Or is your frame setup where you have to run on the right side like that?? Thxs anyinfo would be great
MACVSOG 5th SFG. I wanted to make my own type of engine mount and also wanted to have the small sprocket on the outside so that it would be easier to service my chain. The frame was made in such a way that it was challenging to fit everything compact enough without interfering with the wheel and the seat. There are many ways to set up your engine mount so be creative and let me know how it turns out. Good luck and thanks for watching.
@@balabay77 yup right now I have a built stag 2 gx200 and I'm running a 2 disk Horstman clutch but it just don't have much take off power/clutch grabbing and get up and going! So I think a series 30 or 40 should give me that power off the line I hope!👊 thxs for replying
MACVSOG 5th SFG. Sounds like you’re running a top of the line clutch with modded engine. I don’t think a torque converter will improve your takeoff by very much but you’re more than welcome to try it. With our setup the kart maxed out at around 50mph so if your kart goes faster than that then it’s not even worth your while to swap for 30 series TAV2.
I have a tonykart running a prd fireball... its been getting pimped up, new decals, front brakes, carbon seat, then i covered my seat with padding, and black pu leather with green stitching to match the decals. An alfano added, phone, bluetooth(i can listen to music, or make phone calls) multiple gopro's, recharging for cams and phone, new plastic style rear bumper and i swapped the otk standard pedals for billet aluminium CRG pedals because they look better. Im also going to swap the red plastic screw spacers for green aluminium as a final touch.
Haha, ikr everyone wants upwards of 900 for a bare sprint kart frame from the early 00's. I have an old Legend SS and an alcohol flatty laying around packaged up from the racing days i want to put back together...
Ed Williams I live in Cedar Rapids too. Would you happen to have a 10 tooth, 3/4" bore clutch laying around? I'm looking to buy other stuff for my kart but that's the 1 thing that's stopping me from riding it
Trentz pkn Do you know any good engines out there? 2 stroke engines are powerful but they are too loud and expensive. Four stroke engines are much cheaper but there's a lot of knock-offs on eBay. Thanks for watching and commenting.
great deal you got there but you could have saved alot of money by just splitting the rear drive sprocket rather than all the extra engineering that's what we done back when I raced those karts
Pratyush Singh You can find this kit here rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F152718367965 Or you can also look on aliexpress. I’m sure they sell something similar there as well. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Jack shaft mount was made out of scrap metal therefore I didn’t go into more details on how to make it. Your scrap metal pieces wouldn’t be the same as my pieces so you would probably have to jerry rig it to your specific frame. Besides, many couch experts probably would of commented that they would of made it better or different. All I know is that my mount worked out great and lasted for entire time we owned this kart until we sold it. If you are having issues with fabricating something similar than there’s always an option of buying it online. Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting.
balabay77 go power sports has a ton of aftermarket parts.. my pred 212 has a upgraded cam different piston billet fly wheel and straight pipe and a little carb work and it hauls some serious ass! All parts bought from go power sports
Any chance I can get some static images and info on the jackshaft and sprocket tooth counts? Do you have social media or an Instagram? I have the same chassis, looking to do the same swap on my shifter kart. Thanks
Unfortunately we sold this kart awhile ago and I didn’t take any pics of the jackshaft. 12 tooth sprocket ⚙️ is on the jackshaft and 53 tooth sprocket ⚙️ on the rear axle. Good luck with your project and let me know how it works out for you. Thanks for watching and commenting.
flywithdream pattaya We made this engine mount and jackshaft specifically for this frame so I'm not sure if it will fit your frame. It would be a shame if it didn't. In your opinion how much do you think it's worth?
Obviously you don't have to answer this. But does your son always join you by choice? Or by ruling? Asking b/c I want to spend time like this with my son, but he has zero interest in this stuff. Sorry for such an invasive question. This is just a dream of mine and I feel like I'm competing with youtube for my kid's attention.
When my kid was younger he gladly joined me in these projects but as he got older (around 16 years old) he lost interest and decided to get his own channel going where he rides and fixes bikes. Now he’s completely abandoned everything and just hangs out with his buddies. At least he’s going to college to get higher education and not like some other kids who sit home all day and play video games. Start working on your project and maybe your son will join you? Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting
Here’s my sons other channel youtube.com/@DanielB4life Find out what your kid is interested in and maybe you guys can find a hobby that you both enjoy. While my son and his friends were riding bikes, I came along for the ride and got a great workout as well. Even though I was in the background as a camera man, I enjoyed every minute of it. Cheers
Steam- garage
