This storyline is amazing. The game is just brilliant. I can see why the devs included the obvious Mockingjay actor commentary in the bottom left screen. It just adds to the experience. This is truly masterpiece.
Honestly glad Charlie speaks out to audience members that think they know "the right way" to play the game. I legit will spend 30 minutes in a single area sometimes just trying to find every possible hidden collectable, I play games to 100% them not just for the storyline.
Me in Pokémon be like:” there’s a 1% chance to encounter a super rare Pokémon early in this route? Time to slaughter everything in my way.” During gym battles: literally 15 levels above the gym leaders and able to slap them regardless of type advantage.
It's the difference of a viewer who is only there to watch that game be played vs a viewer who is there to watch the streamer and engage with the community.
Odin: "How about Peace?" Past Kratos: "If all of Olympus will deny me my vengeance, then all of Olympus will die. I have lived in shadow of the gods for long enough. THE TIME OF THE GODS HAS COME TO AN END!!!" Current Kratos: "no..." Update: HOLY CRAP! There are so many bots in the comments, lol. I appreciate the likes, but I think this joke came off the wrong way with some folks. It is not an insult to the new or old version of Kratos and if you ask me, I really like the new version of Kratos more because it shows his strong development as a character. Both versions are great though. This comment was just me shootin the shit and trying to post something funny. It's totally not a problem if some didn't find the joke funny, but I wouldn't try to look too deeply into this. God of War Ragnarok has been fantastic so far!
They definitely took the complaints about recycled bosses in the first game to heart and knocked the bosses (and mini bosses) outta the damn park with Ragnorak Edit: holy crap didn’t realize this comment blew up :) now back to the game BOY!
Whether Elden Ring or this wins GOTY, they are both undeniably absolute masterpieces and should be an example for the rest of the industry. The bar for quality has been raised and BOY has it been raised high
Well god of wars more of an interactive movie then a game AND I think it won’t be in this years awards, being released in November and all. Elden ring earned the goty this year
@@GeoGosha no they released the game the last week it was possible to be nominated for game of the year for 2022. If they had released it next week it would have skipped out on this year's and gone to next year. Good strategy since it'll be the game that'll be the most fresh in people's mind when they decide the winner.
@@carl_consumer.of.reality agree Odin slapped, I wish the first Thor fight got switched with the Final tbh, but I dont understand why he didn't get something on Baldurs scale.
11:32 Just in case you didn't know, the dwarf here is the same dude who made the ost in both GoW 2018 and Ragnarok, they literally had the games composer in the game lol he was also using the same instrument to create the iconic GoW music whenever Kratos engaged in combat
I love the fact Bear McCreary has a cameo in the game, the man absolutely elevated these already phenomenal games. His theme for Kratos is legitimately one of the very best thus far in this century.
I’m about 5 hours in and it’s already one of the best games I’ve ever played. I really don’t game much anymore since I’m older and don’t really get excited for games at all. When I’m at work all I can think about is coming home and playing this all night lol.
I absolutely love how This Guy shuts down idiots In Chat Telling Him to Skip the Side missions..He's enjoying the game, exploring everything to the fullest..A game like this releases once every couple of years atleast take it all in
This game really is incredible. It does almost everything better than gow 2018. Combat is way more fun, there’s so much enemy variety, mini bosses are so fun, boss fights are incredible, the story and characters are amazing. I can’t express how happy I am with the game
I absolutely love that this game has so many collectibles and all of them just aren't pointless at all. You are rewarded for your exploration and its amazing. Artifacts are sold for hacksilver, ravens can be used for opening Nifilheim chests, Lore markers are self explanatory, chests give armor runic attacks health and rage upgrades. Exploring in this game feels genuinely rewarded and I loved the 100% of the first game. This game really breaks the loop of games just rewarded your exploration with a number going up or trophies.
One of my favorite things about the two most recent God of War games is how Kratos isn’t as fast or as nimble as he was in the older games, because he’s an old man now. Thought that was a really nice detail
Imagine willingly watching a streamer play a game and than getting mad that he isnt playing it the way you would want him to and capslocking your frustration.
@@woomyzooms3781 “I kinda like the short snippets” “just watch his streams them” ah yes, the streams that are most definitely, short snippets. Good reading skills brother.
13:49 my friends said the said stuff to me when I was doing side missions. It sure does pay to do side mission especially when you're on the hardest difficulty. First, you get better gear and equipment. Second, the side stories tie in a little to the main story, giving you more information
10/10 story 3/10 gameplay. I fight the urge to lower the difficulty to not be bothered with combat at all and just platinum the game asap. Closing your exploration at beginning because "we don't have instrument/magic yet" and then making you backtrack when you finally get the needed part only for it to drop some material is infuriating. And best part the map don't even have a marker functionality so they expect you to make your own mental map and remember where have you passed before each of these previously blocked chests. At least decent open world game will allow you to put custom markers on map in 2022 (and 2017). Same with metroidvanias where it will at least make an icon of discovered but not yet accessible door. Here they just don't value your time and make you waste it. My advice? Finish the story ASAP and only after that go and explore. Sure most of equipment you'll find that way will be trash. But it is trash to begin with anyway.
@@rumotu ??? You know you can record your gameplay in case you find something to come back to? The game is supposed to be one where you backtrack lmao just like 2018. Weird complaint imo considering some of the greatest games of all time require you to backtrack. Doom being one off top.
“Man, my Exploration is wild. My instincts are just crazy.” My cobber, I felt the same way when I was playing Doom Eternal! Deadset would go through a map, and then say to myself, “Surely there’s a Secret around HERE…”, and surely enough, I’d find that secret almost IMMEDIATELY after saying that.
6:34 I think since Sindri's been helping Atreus for quite some time, he didn't actually go there by foot. I mean I have no idea how the Bifröst portals work, so they might no have been able to directly pop-up on top of a shrine, but maybe there are access-points nearby.
I literally watched that 15 hour play-through video that has the side quests, dialog and cutscenes only. Holy crap. Ive never played a GoW game, but hot diggy shit this is so amazing to watch. The little details, the overwhelming amount of dialog. I just loved it. The ending leaves a lot open...without spoilers; I'm sad about the end of the end part.
I like how Charlie is using the charge attack, I just end up playing it like the old god of war games and juggle enemies until they’re dead or stunned.
I think what makes this game so much better is Kratos’ relationship with the characters is so much more in depth and the story is a lot deeper and meaningful
Agreed my brother I mean it's quite the improvement from 2018 but that game is still great though only complaint I have is maybe the UI is a bit of a downgrade? Though the armour upgrade is cool they actually have different looks when you keep upgrading them and I love how there's new shields more variety to that but I miss the shield skill tree and same with the rage tree but they did somewhat improvement the combat by making some moves you had to unlock with xp a main thing and some runic attacks a skill, though I'm bit sad how long the cooldowns are now for runic attacks. Characters are great in this and are explored more now I like how you can play as Astreus I was thinking we were gonna play as him in Ragnarok I mean would make sense.
True, i didnt like that transmog was only available after full upgrade and the ui is a big downgrade for me. Also i feel the difficulty was kinda crazy as i had really good armor nesr the end but was taking too much damage even on normal difficulty.
This game is amazing!! literally i’m playing RN just past this part - what an opening !!! ( I didn’t think they’d be able to top the baulder and fight in the beginning-- oh yeah and to the moron that told you to not play this side missions that’s where you get the best armor and stuff to upgrade your weapons so by the time you’re a quarter through the story you could be pretty upgraded
I'd recommend pressing the three buttons on the corners of videos about gow Ragnarok and clicking not interested just to avoid spoilers, that's what I did for a couple days until I finished it
Absolutely love it , idk why people complained about ironwood , I love the vibrant colours when u enter combat with the two of them , I didn’t wanna leave yet
I’ve been waiting for this. Watched both of your other God of War vids that were hoursssss long absolutely loved them. I hope we get another 5 hour video
The cutscenes in this game is amazing. It’s like watching a movie. There’s so much stuff in this game that talks about the original trilogy. I didn’t finished it yet since I go for the side quests for the lore while doing MQ. 10/10 for me.
@@CrimsonHero81 this argument makes no sense. You can say that about a lot of video games. Suddenly cutscenes are bad because they tell a story? Especially when the story is the main focus of the game?
It’s amazing to think kratos would have allies, even some you might called friends. Everyone else he’s worked with usually ends up dead or trying to kill him, or both.
Man I would love to see an ARPG use this type of control/view. Can't help but imagine something with a variety of classes, skills and overall depth like D2 done with this kind of play style. PVP would be amazing...
I'm so proud of ragnorak man this is one of the very few instances when video game devs actually took inspiration from the community and preformed well.
I can't wait to see some reviews and gameplay from moist and others when i finished this game. So far it's exceeding my expectations and i had VERY HIGH expectations for it. I have to force myself to turn off my ps5 because since launch i've been sleeping at 4-5 AM now 😂
Man I'm so happy to finally see a game deliver, and even exceed expectations after the absolute drought of decent games we've had since the pandemic. Not a playstation player, but I'm super happy for you guys!
I have been playing genshin so it took me a little bit to get back used to the combat system but once I did it all came back to me. I absolutely love the series, my first tattoo was of the blades of chaos.
Only problem is found a few bugs with side quests and one specific is the mission for vanihim, the dragon refuses to attack so can't complete the mission super annoying
@@ssamhg if it only happened in this game, it'd be brushed off. When it happens all over the entertainment industry, commercials, Billboards, THEN its concerning. So no, tokenising them is pathetic and thats all that'll ever be
@@Ag-kt3je heehee look at me ive insulted someone that ive assumed to be a man for allowing himself to cry like a regurlar and healthy human being and not my stencil cut version of a MANLY MAN im so big and strong and tough
