You ain't lying, who animal control paid this much, we got the same kind of dog catchers over here in labelle , Florida 33935. How can I get this guy to come to my county and catch these guys doing the exact same things. I've literally pulled up to the main dog catcher at Wal-Mart and winn Dixie mid afternoon doing grocery shopping and then loading all their grocery in the dog catching truck. I call and complain about all the big dogs that come into my yard and chase all my cats and all they do is drive up and the down the down really fast and are never to be seen again and then the very next day, there are the same dogs coming back into my yard and again chasing my cats to the death. So now since the county won't do their jobs, I've had to take things into my own hands and I had to purchase a .117 4.5 c0 2 powered bb gun that keeps them at bay now and its not fair to me that I have to get my hands dirty by drilling my neighbors dogs with stainless steel bbs but its what it come down to until the county does their jobs.

(She needs to be fired and the others con artists need to be sent to jail for fraud and forced to pay back the money they stole from the tax payers... take their house and cars and auction them for the amount owed.)

She’s a director. High level positions in each of those fields you describe have similar or higher pay. Not saying She’s not responsible, but she probably does the same, along with the people below her.

Need to overhaul the department. Put camera in the vehicle and make them wear body cam like cops.. They should upload the vide at the end of their shift each day.

Many (maybe most) Animal Control Directors are DVMs.... (Doctor of Vet Medicine). Which is why that salary range. I don’t know if it’s a hard requirement in every state/county, but it’s often the case.

I work for a socal utility company. Any kind of falsification is grounds for termination. These animal control guys seem to have no management or oversight, ridiculous theft.
I would be lovely to see a reporter like Goldstein in every high position in America. Politicians and city workers would always be on their toes. The reason there is so much corruption in America is because there is zero accountability.
The politicians are stealing from us taxpayers also they are the head of the city and state workers that's still in the money look at the homeless, LAHSA, they just received 800 million dollars and they are throwing food away who is getting this money, and these guys just received a billion dollars and look what they're doing, give these jobs to people who needs and wants to work that will appreciate it and for one lady to make over $300,000 a year that's just ridiculous. If some of their salary comes from pet licenses then how are they getting away with so may false reports? This behavior is most likely already known at the top.
LA County is big, that department is big, and as the director she probably doesn't even know who they are. There's several levels of supervision between her and them.
You will find this type of abuse in all divisions of city workers . This happens in all states . Be it park workers , to police. Even those we elect . No workers are grown adults . Adults do not need baby sitters just hire people wanting to work .
Reminds me of the janitor at the SF Bay Area Rapid Transit BART who was making over $300,000 a year. A JANITOR!!! Then they found him sleeping in a closet. Haha
Sounds crazy! But some counties in California the Animal Control is handled by the Sheriff. I think these officers are all connected to each other through family, blood or marriage. They don't need an auditor...they NEED A GRAND JURY INVESTIGATION!
All over in various local government departments you should save the paper you were going to print your resume on if you aren't family or friends with someone already in that system. Even local departments that are Federal, I am thinking specifically of the Post Office, can be like that. It isn't every one, but it is a prevalent problem. The average person doesn't stand a chance at getting many of the positions that pay well and have great benefits, people who might be willing to actually work hard and do a good job. It happens all the time, in both government and private sector. The difference is, a private business fails and closes if changes aren't made. A government organization gets the same funding no matter how poorly they do the job, sometimes getting even more taxpayer money if they say they are working hard but there is too much work for their current size. The lowly well paid worker benefits from sitting around all day and getting paid. The supervisors benefit because they can show on paper that hard work is done but more is still needed, justifying an expansion of their department which makes them more important, inflates their ego more, and gets them more money.
Can we do a follow up and make sure these people are fired? I’m so sick and tired of us not having a say so in what goes on with our literal money. Don’t even get me started on how they never ask a city before starting a construction project, it’s all bs.

What's even worse than these people are the ones who sit back doing nothing to help society but buy stocks and collect the money that should be going to the employees doing the actual work.
Just buying stocks is not a crime. You are basically getting with a bunch of other stockholders to loan a business money. The business might need that $ to stay afloat or even expand, which helps employ more people. If you have private knowledge that an industry is about to be deregulated, a hot product is about to be launched, etc before you buy, that's insider trading and illegal.

As a former City Supervisor - I've witnessed a lot of this stuff first hand. People beg to get a Government Job but after the pass probation, don't want to work!
This is typical for city and county employees. I've found patients that were sick for days, moaning and out of it, having to be sent for emergency care. Other patients point out sick people and I'd get them cared for. This happened again and again!
My sister does care- I think she goes to their homes. I can only imagine… knowing her- my gosh. I wouldn’t leave a plant with that girl, much less a person. I guess it takes a certain kind of person to do these “bull shit jobs,” without conscience.

That is sad my girlfriend is an animal lover and she's been looking for a job just like that and she would do her job she would knock and make sure that the people are taken care of their dogs and have up-to-date shots that would be my girlfriend's job she would love that type of job she's been looking for one like that but none are open it's who you know and what you know that is sad

I lived in a mid sized town in Arkansas, Where we had animal control officers who would come door to door to sell the licenses and Rabies Shots. They were GREAT.!!
