Nice to have such good choices - Not surprised you picked the Mav R to have something new - glad you will be beating on it and telling us how it does! I am happy with my Pro R - end of the day the seating position will probably always keep me in a Pro R over Mav R. Would love to see a Pro R with tranny in the future - we can only hope!
IMO after riding in both and driving the Pro R, Pro R has better overall suspension feel, but the Maverick R feels more stable. The Mav R hits bump stop out way too easily on the rear stock. I would sell the Pro R, the upgrades that are coming for the Maverick R is going to be nuts. The Pro R really needs the turbo to set it off, but after a turbo you're already $6k+ into the machine and still having a belt in a hard to get to place. Even a tune on the Maverick R makes it already a much better machine that eats Pro R's power wise. The DCT is the cherry on top. I'm a Polaris guy but after being in that new Maverick R I think i'm going to be converted.
If I were a betting man, I would put money that Polaris will have a Pro R Turbo before long. Hopefully it also comes with a 20 gallon fuel tank at least on the 4 seater.
@@jabroni6199 I don't see them going with a larger tank but hopefully they bring a factory turbo machine to the market. Unless they do the Yamaha route and sell a Polaris turbo you can add on.
You forgot to talk about the. Navigation system “Ride Command”? How with a Polaris you can do group rides and see all your Polaris friends on your screen. See the trail you mapped out. See your past rides… etc etc. What does the Can Am have? My guess is nothing. So you will be lost in the middle of nowhere with a pile of broken plastic. I STILL. Love you man.
Great Review Dallin! The Pro R is so rowdy and fun to drive. The Mav R is overall way faster in the desert. We will have to see on the track. Pro R ultimate comes with a lot more goodies like Stereo switchable drive tunes, shock tunes that are superior to anything else. At the end of the day the Mav R is just faster and handles better. I was just watching the Silver State 300 race and he was crushing it in the Pro R and ended up losing because of the belt. Mav R has a leg up with the Transmission. Game changer!
I don’t know that it actually handles better. It has a lower CG, less body roll and bump steer. But it also understeers, can’t take the big hits as well and has worse braking. That isn’t better IMO. It’s more of a lateral move and the better handling vehicle comes down to the type of riding and driving style you prefer.
Another big factor in comparing the 2 cars is the 2000 cc motor puts The Pro R in a different class. We were floored when the Mav R came out and it was still under 1000 cc, so it can compete in every class in racing.
Another Great video and the RG imposed silence speaks volumes. No need to speak about a non contender! Great choice on the Mav R but I really hope Can Am comes out with a properly sized motor for the heavy beast to complement the DCT.
Robby wouldn't let them test it if they wanted to he's a sxs/off road nazi. After the speed almost lost to the 10yr old x3 in the chupacabra shootout robby threw in the towel
I think one car that doesn’t get enough credit is the Turbo R . I chose that over a pro r for some different t reasons. Maybe you don’t have any buddies with one but we will be out there for the desert bash poker run in December. We would totally be able to link up if you ever want to compare it.
I would drive the pro R 4 first then fully commit to the turbo R. Either way you can’t go wrong. Pro R just has more potential. Downside to the Pro R is that the motor puts it in a class of its own, so it can’t be included in many racing events
Great review I wonder why Polaris is OK with getting their ass kicked in the power department they should just put a turbo on there and sell it for 40 good thing we only have trails here in Florida That is saving me money but Hitting those dunes sure looks fun
Super Villain and Super Villain Hybrid are on the way. The "LISTED" pre-release top speed isn't where the Maverick R is, but the HP is much more on the Hybrid. Completely different machines but curious to see which ones will win a flat out drag.
Buy a 50” 4wd king single row light bar for a Mav. Don’t buy the dual row. Do a review on them. I’ve been preaching those single row light bars and people just laugh and say baja at 8-9x the cost for the same light out put. Not affiliated just want people to get good stuff at a good price. I own about 6 of them. It’s as bright as an s8 for sure. Great optics. No scatter. No glare if you run a windshield.
@@jabroni6199 If you want vague answers about speed and not blunt answers about the good and the bad, other channel’s can do that for you. we are going to say it all or nothing at all.
@@desertsxs yeah I’ve seen pretty much all the reviews from the usual suspects. No one providing blunt answers is reason enough for me not to touch speed with a 10’ pole.
Ya sorry. I am going to tell all or nothing I’m not going to try and ride the fence sorry. If I can’t say everything I’m not going to say anything. I wish them all well. It’s just not for me.
Wish they made the R in a 72 inch. After you put paddles on the R you are just soooo wide. For the trails at the Oregon dunes it's just to wide. That being said buy whatever you want your making the payments.
Definitely much easier and cheaper to swap a belt but if the tranny holds up i would say swapping every let’s say 7000 miles is pretty nice. I average 500 miles probably on a belt on a given sxs. Some people average much more or less
500? wow thats not good. My first can-am this year and I guess I better learn how to change the belt and keep on on board. Thanks for the tip! @@desertsxs
@@DOUGMAC a lot of people get a lot more out of there’s I just like to push the cars and with that comes belts getting roasted blitzing through whoops and racing. Everyday fun casual riding you will go through much less
@@desertsxsso for someone whos coming from a raptor 700r and just wants to get on it at the dunes when we do vacas or just driving around town, whats the best two seater sxs to buy right now ?
@@FragranceFrontier if you are just getting into it pro r is easy and very reliable but a lot of car Cheaper version not trying to win races just drive around town 1000xp krx
Pro r king!!! The maverick r needs about a year to test to see how that transmission holds up and how much it's gone cost to fix!!! That's the only thing!!! The pro r is proven
@@dwayneeverett755 This might be news to you, but not everyone is born owning one of these. Almont everyone is born without one and if they decide to buy one at some point in their lives, they need to make a decision based on the data available at the time. Based on the data available to me, if I were to buy one, I would buy the Pro R. Now, i'm fairly certain you weren't born owning either one of these. But based on your reply, i'm also fairly certain you were born retarded. Furthermore, Notice I did not say the Pro R is better or that YOU should pick the Pro R. I said I'd (I would) pick the Pro R. Since i'm speaking for myself, my statement is completely valid.
My hood piece kept flying off after I took it for the first time around 40-50mph.. then the fourth time I noticed that the two clips in the front had to slide in to be pushed down into the hole slots. Not saying that's how your side piece is but might want to analyze it a little closer. Just based off of my experience with these can-ams. @@desertsxs
That can be reliable but the one that we had wasn’t. also it’s not doing near the speeds without adding lots of extras things break easier at much higher speeds
Maverick R doesn't have navigation, doesn't have speakers because they want you to buy the audio roof but if you buy it your stuck with the stock cage, has weak a arms and sway links I saw 3 mav Rs break down at utv takeover sand hollow 2 were bent a arms and 1 was a broken sway link, soft suspension in the rear, the tires rub stock , it understeers, steering is rough and jerky, its 6 lug and fit and finish is horrible. Speed UTV doesn't have navigation, doesn't have electronic suspension, doesn't have throttle modes, needs upgraded wilwood brake kit which should have came stock, sounds like a leaf blower, looks like a kit car inside and out, it's a one trick pony desert car, it's a Chinese owned company and no aftermarket parts for the hisun. Pro R / Turbo R crap ball joints for 2022, crap cage and crap clutch after 1500miles. Brawley gts it's electric so range will not be good, it looks like it's only ment for rock crawling, I honestly think it's to pretty to bash against rocks and from what I'm told you can't drive it on the street plus it's new so who knows what the bugs are and also this car won't have aftermarket accessories. Pick your poison. I pick pro r alday
I was just at the 2024 King Of The Hammers, the pro R Razor pro R didn’t do shit didn’t prove tiddlywinks didn’t do good in the rocks had to be winched out the speed proved every car competed in the King Of The Hammers broke down disappointed in the speed car disappointed in the pro R they don’t got it
