Hey guys, How many of you have struggled with the same problem? You drag something off the back of your trailer and something catches the back edge and does this! No fun!.
Well, Kick back and see how I fixed this problem.
Thanks for your support.

I keep full ( 4 x 8 ) sheets of plywood for working on rough or gravel areas...even if grass it makes it easier to keep track of parts/tools ..i also have foam pads i lay on...getting too old for hard surfaces...also helps when ground is wet or snow ( that weird white material we get farther North of You !! 😉 🇨🇦🤓🤙

Plywood sheets come in handy when working in Design Technology classrooms with rubber floors and you have to cut and reweld workbench frames. Ask me how I know? 😂 I had that as one of my jobs at work over the Christmas school holidays. Turned a curved bench into a straight one! Benchtop was 32 mm particleboard with 3 mm steel glued on top. Bought the Milwaukee 18v cordless metal saw and made up a straight edge for the full length of the bench. The cut then became the easiest part of the job. The saw also came in handy for breaking down the subframe sections to shorten and rework them. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

@ICWeld Great job. The strongest welds ain't always the prettiest. My welds aren't always the best looking, but knock on wood, in 30 years of hobby welding I'm probably above 95% of my welds not breaking.

Man, I gotta say I respect the way you “take things apart” you use just enough of whatever to get things separated and no more. Arc gouging down to that M-12 saw. Right amount of force for each cut. That is a sign of experience and wisdom. Pay attention people this guy is the real deal!

I ran into an "abrasive's" manufacturer years ago that was shutting down. They were clearing the place out and the 2 guys still working there sold me a boatload of discs! Zip cut & grinding discs alone would fill a bathtub.....plus another tub full of 9" & chop saw size stuff. I am easy on my abrasives so I figured I had at least 2 lifetimes worth at hand.....all for 60 bucks! NEVER would I run out, nor have to buy any!!! Anyways, a long story short...the damn things had gone up in price considerably since my last purchase.

I bet you were in for a real case of sticker shock when compared with the previous large purchase. 😢 Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

Fun to see a good, straightforward repair! This is the kind most folks could tackle with relatively basic tools, and it's fun to see it carried out by a professional. :)

I had the chain hook on my excavator shift between planks and snagged that board edge guard, 2x2 angle vs excavator wasn't much of a match for the 0.01 seconds I saw what was going on, ripped it clean off the trailer. Installation took a little longer than removal

The whole repair is great and the way you laid out the light holes and cut them is easier than having the pattern for the light. Your skills with the plasma cutter or torch make it look easier than it is!

Probably looking a lot worse than it actually is . Tear down looks like a lot of bits to cut an grind to reveal a simple repair . Quicker and easier to fabricate the rear plate that try to straighten that top edge back , way too stretched . A nice half hour video for us but i guess an afternoon's work for you . Really liking that press brake very delicately operated on the straightening of the back piece . Thanks for bringing us along as usual great video thanks

If that trailer is primarily used for transporting shipping containers the customer should have had you make modifications so it's better suited for the job. Installing rollers on the back of the trailer would prevent damage like that. Edge guides or rollers also really help when loading containers. I have modified a few trailers for container hauling.

Hey Isaac, another great repair!:) I'm rebuilding the support frame for my F350 dump body. The original frame railed and the front supports for the rams failed and crushed the back of the cab. Yikes! Someone attempted a repair but not a very good job. A little frame straightening, a lot of body work and reconstruction of the support frame. Lots of fun! Thanks for all the great tips!😊

I have trailers dropped off all the time in my driveway to be repaired, and my neighbor asked one of my clients the other day why he brings it to me. And his response was because I don't mind paying a little more to get it done right the first time. I've seen more work these days done by people who don't take pride in their work and are just looking for a quick buck. Makes me sick.

Man I HATE battery operated power tools. I much prefer an extension cord and toting a small Honda generator around if necessary. Unlimited power rules! You’re also the expert as I’m NOT, but I’m surprised you didn’t plasma cut many off those angles and such. I understand not using an oxy torch due to the plastic lights and the wood deck, but man you have some serious patience with using an angle grinder and a cut off wheel for all that cutting. Respect!

I’ve had that little M12 fuel Hackzall since it was released like 9 years ago. It’s a nice ergonomic little saw but I really only ever use it for thin metal conduit or drywall. It definitely doesn’t have a ton of grunt for heavier metal. When I cut strut I usually use my 18V metal cutting circ saw. The key to that little hackzall is big batteries and fresh blades (Lenox Golds best I’ve found for my use case). The saw needs all the help it can get since it’s 12V. Still waiting on a Gen 2 and maybe some pouch cell batteries.
