Just started using the software after Quik stopped working. It's fantastic 👏 thanks you for creating this software. I could never merge the GPS data from each 17 minute video file using quik but with your software it very easy to do when using the GPS data from my phone.. Excellent work :)
voy a probar en el circuito de kart pero por lo menos en la calle no pude hacer que me de un logo de gps en blanco. o probare en la terraza a ver si me agarra señal
What GoPro do you have? Are you outdoors and under a clear sky? Is the camera right side up? Is it inside a frame that could block the GPS signal? If it never works under good conditions you should probably contact GoPro, but a faulty GPS module is extremely uncommon
Telemetry Extractor (Premium or not) converts the data in GoPro videos to other file formats like GPX, CSV, etc. For custom and professional use cases. Telemetry Overlay displays the GPS and sensor data visually on top of the video and allows to save that as a new video. Telemetry Overlay is the one most users need
Could you include Telemetry data from DJI mavic air (1) also? You have for the newer version of air. Happy with the software. And this video was great because I miss a lot of data from my Insta360 camera.
When I import to Telemetry Overlay with the raw GoPro 8 file the telemetry data is there. But if I edit the same file in Quik (iOS) to apply horizon leveling and then export that file to OneDrive and then import to Telemetry Overlay, the telemetry data disappears. Horizon leveling is the only reason I'd like to import edited videos from GoPro. I don't suppose that's on the list of future enhancements to Telemetry Overlay? I tried a workaround where I imported the edited file and then used the original and imported again for telemetry data. This works ok, but seems to double count laps in the lap timer.
Importing the edited file and the data from the original is the recommended approach. Horizon levelling won't come to Telemetry Overlay in the near future. If the lap timer produces strange results you might have to re-set the finish line or change its length so that it does not cross other sections of the track
Can you tell me how to turn on my front screen? I just got my gopro and the screen will not turn on. Idk what's going on and if it's broke, I'm going to need to take it back.
There's an option in the back screen menu to turn on the front screen. I think it's dragging the menu from the top and clicking on the button that says 01 within a square (I think)
So there is the possibility to take any camera (drone/photo camera/action camera/phone... ) that has GPS/telemetry recordings if not (backup) phone .... then combine it and make a video with all the data...If I link it with G-Earth 3D maps (your other video) and mark certain points on the map (like - stops, difficult sections, road repair, street furniture, barrier, damaged road...etc.) can I print out on paper these points (in sheet format ) ... so It can be used on a road trip data for copilot (like in rally races) to navigate in addition to have a visual in the video for a preview ??? or in a case of cycling or running data for the preview of the track and adding notes in certain sections parts/points of the road ... and then make a video + print out the map (G-Earth3D) + printout sheet data of points/notes/telemetry data(slope/altitude/distance,...) synchronized with points(gps) on the map and video???
Hi Rok, That's a pretty complex use case with some details that go beyound my skillset. I'm not sure how you would convert your notes on Google Earth to a printable format. You can merge what you do in Telemetry Overlay with your 3D Map from Google Earth but you will need to do that in a third party video editor (as explained in the Google Earth video). But I think in order to tick all the boxes you seem to need you will have to complement these tools with some custom workflows
@@TelemetryOverlay the point is if there is an option to put any notes in certain points in video or GPS timeline.. or note for the interval like from this GPS/point to this GPS/point ...(newer used G-Earth) does G-Earth allows putting markers/points on a map/road (then export points in XLM, JSON, xls) and also that those markers would stay when you record the video(like you did with 3D bike video)... later you can synchronize it with GPS camera/data on the sheet(make notes) otherwise nice tool
@@Rok_Piletic You can add markers to Google Earth and I suspect they will show up in the video. I don't know exactly how they export to other formats. You can also add custom titles in Telemetry Overlay, and the next version will allow you to show dynamic text fields from sources like CSV
I tried using the free version but the data is completely wrong, the speedo doesn't even go down to zero, stuck at like 12 when i'm stopped etc. And the altitude is all over the place.
That seems to indicate a bad GPS signal. Either try to improve your recording conditions and, if not possible, maybe record backup GPS data with a phone, smartwatch or activity tracker and sync it to the video
Just setting the GPS Path margin to the maximum value, from the Shape tab. This is relative to the path length, like all the margin levels, so for very short paths the gauge will not zoom out as much, and for very long paths it could zoom out much further
Hi Victor, Thank you for the suggestion. Something similar is on the potential features list but is unlikely to be ready for the next update, as there are many requested features queued. We'll see.
I have a GoPro 11 and the GPS is pure garbage. It never records....or if it does it is pretty much zeros. Is there an Android app I can run to log the data then add to the video in Telemetry Overlay?
GoPro is NOT the only show in town! That's why ppl are moving over to DJI & Insta360! They are NOT addressing user issues (OVERHEATING > No More Quik App Desktop > Max Lens Mod lower Resolution > etc.....)!!!! Yet and still they're going to come out with a GP HB 12 later on this year STILL w/out a FIX on past issues! I REFUSE to support them! DJI all the WAY!!!!! Too bad my Osmo Action 3 doesn't feature GPS Telemetry! That would be cool!
@@TelemetryOverlay sorry for my english, i mean when i turn on gps, that gps logo not blink, i mean not receive any signal.. can i know whats the problem?
Are you outdoors and with no obstacles between the sky and the top of the camera? Do you wait for some minutes for the GPS lock? Other than the tips in this vide, I do not know what else to suggest
@@TelemetryOverlay thanks on the free trial now. Trying to figure out how to export vids from gorpo to software once I figure it out I'm going to buy. It's a cool program
Hi Rodrigo. Most consumer users need Telemetry Overlay, not Telemetry Extractor Premium. And the extractor has a free version with most features included
