I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable about GoPro Heros. Having owned every one beginning with the H3. But I did not know about the 10 second reset press. Thanks for that.
Lots of good information here even though I've had the 8 for a while. One thing I find I have to be very careful about with any GoPro is that the mode is really set to Video before I use Quick Start or regular start. I've got some nice time lapse videos of music rehearsals...
Try to keep your battery/camera as warm as possible - stow it in your jacket while you are on the ski lift - you will see this helps a lot - and use quick capture
