Also I think the initial comment is a joke because of how old he looks with his hair 😂😂 also Gordon is easily the goat at grappling so Jon can't take that from Gordon

@@cobblegilll this "Gordon is juicing" comment is getting old, this might be a shocker for you but Jon is also juicing!! And so are many other fighters that get "clean" on USADA testing. I'm saying you didn't understand the video, Gordon is saying that Jon isn't a specialist, he doesn't have all his stats into one field, he's a great generalist, and at that he switches amazingly through each of his fields. That's what Gordon is saying, your comment says Gordon is wrong Jon is a great grappler, except Gordon never said Jon wasn't a great grappler, just not the best. Jon is easily top 3, but you get guys like Gordon or Bo Nickal who are much better grapplers, it's not taking away from Jon to say he isn't the best grappler, it's just making note to how good he is all round rather than just being good at one field. Jon has very few weaknesses because of his general skill. But again I'm just saying you clearly misunderstood Gordon's message. Because Jon literally came over from wrestling to do mma, Gordon knows very well he's a top tier wrestler.... just not the best.

I kind of agree, PEDs don't give skills, but it most certainly allows one to use them to the best when these skills are heavily reliant on physical prowess and speed, which is what PEDs augment like a mofo. Hence, was Jones really good cuz of his base skills, or were the PEDs the major factor in helping him win most of his closely contested bouts? Look at Hendrix and his massive decline when he was off the rounds, Jones is the same. He a cheat and isn't a goat.

Anyone saying they’re clean (in a big promotion) is bs. Whether it’s for cutting, healing or silencing an injury, so on so forth… they’re on something. Most folks don’t know what SARMS, let alone if you got money and can get designers even is…. No fighter, no athlete is 100% clean. Once again as a fighter (even as living the dominant hand nub life)…folks think PEDs give you hulk status strength and speed automatically…they don’t.

Give greg jackson credit. He is like an elite NBA coach. The guy will have different game plans and if lets say you hurt your right foot. One of your game plan is gone. So now you have 4 other game plans. They adjust. Greg Jackson is all IQ and jon jones just adjusts and listens to Jackson. It's amazing cause Greg is a freak coach. He doesn't just focus on you but he focuses on your opponent and mold you into the right fighter to beat that opponent. We're talking like gsp level where they will do anything they can do get that win. Jon jones plenty of times didn't go with the game plan and it worked but greg wasn't too excited about that. Lol

@@JacobGov DJ is universally known as a top 2 or at worst top 3 mma fighter of all time. Nobody else does a suplex into armbar. Stands his ground against renounced mma legends. Etc. Khabib wasn’t active enough to overtake Jon jones, or DJ. Fedor never made it to ufc but he was an amazing fighter. Silva and GSP were both active and great fighters.

I think Jon’s ability to make reads is often overlooked by how cool he is when doing everything he does lol. But like Gordon was saying, Jon is very very very adaptable and he very much so embraces change rather than always use what works. He still has the classic moves we all know and love like the single leg into a spinning elbow, or the left high kick, oblique kicks of course and his signature elbows from hell when he gets you on the ground. But he doesn’t always NEED those weapons that work so well. He can beat you in ways you wouldn’t expect because he is just that adaptable to whoever he’s fighting.

Yup, thats why its "Mixed Martial Arts"... if you cant mix it up, like Izzy cant mix things up for example, someone will smack you. I don’t like jon as a person. But as a competitor, the guy is a beast. a few years ago, rashad evans, jones former teammate, said the same thing about him. Jones has been consistent despite him blowing-up into an icon. You compare him to mcgregor, that irish lad went down faster than an american bomb going down on syrian villages.

Jon is special because he has the balls to win at all times, whatever it takes, and does not need to feel comfortable. It’s quite simple. Almost no athletes are truly willing to go to the darkest places to win, Jon is. That’s why it’s no biggie for him to switch tactics when maybe he’s doing good but it’s not the best path to victory. Guys like Danaher and Gordon have plenty of ego and dedication but those are guys who study greatness rather than find it within their heart.

GSP, Jon Jones, Volkanovski, Demetrius Johnson, Dustin Porier, Kamaru Usman are ufc guys that I think fit this label. None of them have mastery of any specific discipline but put everything together well as complete mixed martial artists. Im sure there are a few others.

When John was asked what makes Gordon special, John said it was his ability to absorb information about BJJ. This basically means Gordon is extremely smart. I'm pretty sure he can have his own thoughts about the game.

@@IordanIovkovI feel that’s a fair statement but not totally true. I think John picks certain students who are really receptive to his teaching style and philosophy. Once chosen he then pours all of his knowledge into said student. There is a world where John exists without Gordon but not a world where Gordon exists without John….if that makes sense
