As a former behavior therapist who visited so many daycares in observation of clients, I can say that every single daycare I have seen was scary. Daycares are absolutely horrible places for children.

I’m not surprised. Daycare doesn’t make sense. One adult for five babies, how can anyone think they would do a good job 😮

Exactly 😢 Not being able to care for your baby, leaving him/her in the care of someone who does that for money, who will never have the love a mother has for her child, is a nightmare 😢 I am so grateful to God I have been able to be with my three kids 24/7 from the day they were born 🙏

Think about it this way, 95% of childcare workers are women. If more “free daycares” open we would need more women to work in these type of jobs. The women hired are most likely to be mothers with children of their own. Essentially, it would be mothers taking care of other peoples children and not their own. On top of that it is one of the worst payed jobs in the US. The idea is horrifying.

We really need the return of the single-income household. I have a cousin whose husband was eventually able to make that work so that she could quit her corporate job and stay at home with their kids, but that only happened when he had achieved enough to own a successful small business. And she still does some work-from-home stuff on the side for a supplemental income.

I feel like this would help single moms who have to work and need childcare . But yes I ultimately agree in any other case . Mothers should stay home with their children and the husband providing for their families.. I am blessed by God to have that . Raising my daughter is the hardest most fulfilling thing , I am so grateful to God and my amazing husband.. I pray for the single mothers , you guys are amazing fighting to raise your children alone . I be pray for woman to be educated on how important it is to Live for God first and find a good man to marry so they can raise their children and be taking care of .

Daycare should be a million dollars. Children are priceless and women need to return to the family. Struggling families do not exist, poor choices of women getting pregnant by men who cannot and will not fully support them is the problem. A society that respects the family does not expect mothers to work nor does it promote work as birth control for young women. If you cannot live on one income you need your extended family network, not govt kick backs leaving your children vulnerable to people who do not have your interests or values.

What is "wrong"? That children belong under the safety of their own family networks? That only promotes healthy families based on trust, commitment, and sacrifice. Children are not public property.....

The sadder thing is if this policy were enacted at some point it would probably indirectly and directly put a greater burden on the families choosing to struggle and live with one income so the mom can stay home for the betterment of their children.

My country in nz provides 20 hours free daycare for children ages 3-5 which inthonk is good for people that need it you dint need to use the whole 20 but very useful for people that need it

In an ideal world, mothers would stay home, and fathers would provide. Unfortunately, we live in a world where costs for families can only be met with 2 incomes for many families. Ideals and principles are important, but we also have to recognize what makes sense in practice. Free childcare as an option seems sensible.
