This videos explains how to install the GROM USB Android iPhone and Bluetooth Car Kit into Lexus RX 300 1999-2002.
The installation is very simple giving the fact that CD changer is easily accessible in the glove box.
Takes around 10 minutes and require the screwdriver.

Once GROM car kit is installed, you will get the access to the following functionality (depending of the type of your GROM car kit):
USB port to connect and play your music from USB Flash Drive, iPhone/iPod/iPad, and Android phone
Bluetooth integration (GROM-BTD Bluetooth Dongle is required) for hands free phone calls and wireless music streaming
Optional 3.5mm phone jack with USB charging for any music source (MP3 player, iPhone, etc...)
Your smartphones (Android or iPhone) and music on USB stick will be controlled using car stereo/steering wheel controls.

I just installed this in my 2001 RX300, works great, set up was fairly simple, can finally listen to music from my iPhone. To think a local company wanted to charge me 400 bucks!

is the audio good and clear? i’m using an fm transmitter and don’t feel like it’s necessary to swap out the whole radio but i want to get clear audio with bluetooth because the fm transmitter is too staticy

I love this company! It worked for my German spec BMW and I will be purchasing for my JDM Toyota Harrier aka Lexus RX300. Takes a little fiddling but it beats the alternatives for this car because of the way they integrated the A/C controls into the dash.

Jessica, for RX 300 1999-2002, yes GROM will disable CD changer. In general it will disable external CD changer, but built-in changer will keep working. Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion and feedback. As for the video speed, you can probably stop it at the certain points that are interesting to you. Regarding to the dash mount, we film on your clients cars. Not all want the dash mount. if you are looking for the dash mount, check our website. We have aux and USB ports dash mounts available. @Thug9030 It is usually written on the front facia plate of your stereo. Or you can also check the stereo manual, or you can take the stereo out and check the sticker on its top or back. But usually it is written on the front facia. Thank you.

$134.99 costs GROM-USB2P kit that includes everything for USB audio. If you need Bluetooth dongle, AUX and iPod cable - they are being sold separately. We also have Bluetooth kits with built-in Bluetooth (GROM-BT3-TOY) where you will not need extra dongle.

Yes you absolutely can. The track up-down will work on Pandora, using car stereo or steering wheel buttons.

@redmonddad Yes you are correct - in that case with 99 RX300 there is no built-in CD player, so the external CD player ( in the glove box) is being disconnected. Thank you.

brandon castillo it connects to the back of your stereo to CD changer port. It provides phone jack, as well as Bluetooth for hands free phone calls and wireless music streaming, USB to integrate iPhone or Android, or USB stick, and HD radio. For more info please visit gromaudio.com

I have the "Toyota / Scion / Lexus GROM iPod Adapter Direct Interface V3" installed in my 2002 Lexus rx300 (non-Nakamichi) and it works good except when ever the car is on I get a high pitched buzzing from my speakers that I did not get before the install. This buzzing only occurs when the car is on, and increases as I increase the throttle. Do you have any ideas on what could be wrong and how I could fix it, thank you.

Yes you probably can do that, if you do not want to install the CD changer interface. Maybe via cassette player?

+Sam Hillyer it is the CD changer plug. Your CD changer is being disconnected once you install GROM kit for this Lexus.

Do you make an interface for the 1999 Lexus LS400 without nav...it's the premium audio (pioneer) not the nakamichi, saw a good price on one on eBay but it's overseas and will take a while to get to the U.S./midwest... any solutions?

You can completely remove the CD player, right? Does the GROM have a mount or some way to secure snugly in the compartment so it looks appealing when you open the glove box? lol

Yes, for this vehicle you have to completely disconnect the CD player. We do not offer the mounts of some way, but some users use the velcro to secure the unit in the glove box. Usually you do not see much of GROM while using it. Thank you.

My RX was not built with a CD changer, in the glove box or elsewhere. Are the hook-ups still there behind the glove box? Where else would I install this product?

Nick Wilson yes the connector should be available in the glove box. What year is your RX? The adapter will fit to all 1999-2002 RX, except Nakamichi stereo.

Yes, for the Lexus RX 300 1999-2002, the CD changer in the glove box will be disconnected with the installation of the car kit.

what's the best way to secure the box? I was thinking velcro inside, or some sort of faceplate where the CD changer was that will have the sockets for USB and charging in it

We recommend placing the box in the glove box. This way you will have it accessible for future firmware updates and add-ons. If not in the glove box, but behind the stereo - velcro can be good to use to secure it. Make sure to have teh USB cable out (glove box?) so you can easily access it. Also make sure to make secure and tight connections. Thank you.

Unfortunately it will not work. It works with 1999-2002 models of Lexus RX with non-Nakamichi stereo.

I have a 1998 Lexus gs300. I want to connect behind cd changer in glove box since my stereo is Nakachimi. Wil this work. I am pretty sure the disc changers is the same port as non nakachimi(just the radio port is different?)

I have done exactly as this video and followed the instructions, however, it didn’t work the Bluetooth is connected to my phone, but the stereo wont select CD to play the music , when it does press cd , no music is played from my phone

Здравствуйте. Я купил адаптор yatour для Lexus RX300 2001. Устройство не могло нормально работать при традиционном подключении (адаптор+чейнджер+штатная магнитола) пришлось подключить (Адаптор+штатная магнитола)Все работает! Единственный вопрос как записать музыку если на флэшку записаны 2 папки? При записи по инструкции(CD01,CD02) вторую папку не видит и не проигрывает, а первая без проблем играет. Заранее спасибо
