The plot of GG is so weird it feels like either A.) Daisuke wanted to make a crazy, over the top game but felt obligated to make a story and just went ham. B.) Daisuke wanted to make a crazy, over the top story and felt like he had to make a fighting game because that's his job and what he's known for, and just went ham.
heres the real answer , hes a genius , he wanted to make a fighting game , with rock music , and a great plot and incredible graphics and refused to compromise quality on any of the game's elements. all aspects of the game were developed to exceptionally high quality
It's the same in Strive when he talks about humanity being selfish itself by trying to survive at the expenses of someone else. He always gets the best speeches out
@@MagnificantSasquatch It wasn't this moment, but when Icarus started playing at the end of SIGN and Ramlethal was being taken away, I was about to cry.
23:58 Ariels erected a shield that powerful that withstood all those combined attacks while she was weakened? That's BOSS mode right there. Saved both Sol and Aria
Is it just me or the animation was a lot better in here than Strive's story mode? Definitely also has more music variety played too. Edit: Just remembered Strive only got 4 animators for its story mode due to covid...that's probably why it lacks this kind of quality. Damn, if only this pandemic shit didn't happen we could have seen (SPOILERS) Sol's send off a lot more epic, long fights with Nagoriyuki, more fights, more characters being used, & the ending would have been a lot longer I bet.
Honestly Strive story mode is a lot more lean and action packed and to the point. Feels more like a movie, while Xrd's is like two seasons of a whole anime series. Both are great IMO
the animation in xrd/rev is in general better and more dynamic, just compare any xrd intro/outro to their strive counterparts, not to mention those insane instant kills..
@@cannonfodder4000 They both succeed in different styles. Strive is not as cartoonishly over the top as Xrd but it has much more weight and detail in its animations. It's much more readable too.
God I really hate how you can see a silhouette of a person inside That Man’s hood. It just makes him much less mysterious knowing there’s just some dude inside that cloak.
@@shobooknight This. He was never a celestial creature or anything. It was always implied that he was either like Sol (a heavily modified human) or like I-no.
okay minor plot question: at 25:45 why did the pratorian guards keel over when Aria was revived? did i miss something? i thought they were just guys that got power from the universal will like St.Maximus.
They technically are but UW binded their minds to hers so they stopped because she gave up. Also didn’t help that her plans kinda went up in flames so had little reason to keep the fights going. Kinda similar to how irl there’s a theoretical way to travel faster than light but we don’t have the means to do it, so why start building the machine when it’s not going to work?
Jack-O didn't exist as a character until Revelator, but Justice's identity as Aria was hinted at in the original Guilty Gear, and the Valentines/clones of Aria (which are basically just like Murakumo units in BB) were a thing before GG2, maybe even before Accent Core. It's pretty safe to say these ideas originated from Guilty Gear.
@@OmegaNitro (sorry to disturb by the way) actually there was art of her in one of the GGXX games, in one of the Anji route's ending with That Man/Ausuka, she did exist in the lore but was not an interactive character just like the Jellyfish pirate
If Jack-O is fully awakened now after Rev's story then why does she still have the split personality in Strive? I don't get it why complicate her even more? >.> If she's still half Aria then this means Justice is still inside her, cause It's not like her gameplay style is affected by her personalities like Tira in Soulcalibur.
Aria and Jack-O are the exact same now, there is no Aria without Jack’O and no Jack’O without Aria, one and the same. As for the split personality it’s just a quirk of hers that has pretty much nothing to do with the story
Let's be real, Ariels really fucked herself over trying to negotiate with Sol by asking "You fall in love"? Seriously, Freesia said more about that than any cutscene ever could
Wiki says some disturbing things about it. Justice we fought in previous games is actually smaller copy with same memory because it was hard for Testament to ressurect her in big form. So... This is her ACTUAL form. She is originally freakishly big.
I know it's been 8 months but basically, he makes peace with his ghosts and manages to control himself. So, because he doesn't fight anymore with his ghosts, he works for Ky's paranormal department. That's why you see him in the backlines.
@@zenthedemonhunter772 I'm not sure if Aria will be playable, but they might choose to have Happy Chaos witg Jack-O''s abilities and Aria with Justice's.
