Thanks for posting! I have to split my case to remove all the piston schrapnal after it disinterested on me from overheating.. worst piston failure I've ever experienced.
Thank you so much for these videos, I just got a gy6 in a million pieces and didn't know the first thing about them and now I am pretty confident about building it
You make the best videos man. I've learned a lot by just sitting back and watching you work on you scooters. Do you run a shop or do you just do this as a hobby? If it's just a hobby are you a millionaire? It's just that you have so many cool tools and extra parts. In one video you pointed out like five brand new engines. You taught me about the Ferrari of scooter parts Taida and even though I'll probably never be able to afford any Taida parts for my 150cc GY6 I'm still grateful. Keep up the good work man.
Thank you, I am trying to replace gaskets on a gy6 dune buggy I just bought and it seems to be leaking oil pretty bad.. Do I really have to pull the entire piston etc off to replace the crankcase gasket ?
Thanks for making these gy6 videos Dan! I'm learning a lot man. whats the name of the radio station playing on most of your videos? it plays a lot of good music lol
nice video man, thank you. My custom stretch job is too long for the original shock so i used a cr 125 rear shock mounted to the outside of the normal spot but i had to lift the whole frame up pretty high and the position of my motor is slightly more vertical now and it sounds like its not getting enough oil to the valves. is it possible to replace my oil pump while the motor is still on the scooter? something just tells me with the higher slanted position of the motor the oil pump isnt getting enough oil all the way up there. ive been running two stroke oil with the gas just in case do you think this will at least help?
Jello i noticed that the crank was easy to move back and fourth i tightened up my bolts and tje crank was hard to move any idea what would cause that thanks
+Daniel Martin Thanks for reply, my friend, i have a problem in my gy6 carburetor, on the carburetor floater there is something like oil, is possible that are a oil leak from the engine to the carburetor? Thanks
HI Sam, You're most welcome. I don not find it likely, oil is being blow back into your engine VIA the head-intake-carb.... Here's what I suspect: Many scooters have a crankcase vent in the valve cover, the excess oil that get's blow out goes into the air filter, then sucked back into the carb.... If you have excess oil in your carb, I would suspect you're getting some kind of excessive blow-by.... Vent to somewhere else and monitor how much oil is being blown out your crankcase vent.Start investigating there. Hope this helps. Dan
