I'm going to try this! I was getting frustrated with the hack squat because it wasn't feeling right for me, exactly what you're explaining here; not feeling the weight on my feet/legs.
Ya have to really support your back though. Super tight core. You can't let the weight compromise your spine. Then yes, everything can go through the legs. I have my elbows out and keep my shoulders back to keep my back from rounding out. How do I know this? Disc herniation lol. Thoracic. Flat back. Shoulders back. Tight core. THEN legs to SHIT lol.
I love leaning forward and feeling the entire push through my legs rather than my back, shoulders, etc. Really emphasizes that this is a leg exercise and not a compound movement.
You have such a great way of breaking movements down. My pressing has gotten loads better thanks to your ques. Tried this today on hacks and it felt great. Thanks again for the content
He’s right please listen my legs have definitely improved from this mindset alone. I also struggled to grow my legs hack squat seems to work for me leg press and traditional squats were not really owing to well for me
Hi Mike, since I've seen a lot of your videos I understan the message of the video (and it has helped me improve my leg training). However sometimes it can be a bit unclear if you're talking about what to do or what not to do. Thanks for the content, it's helping me develop!
Yeah I'm with you there sometimes but I'm pretty sure what he saying here at the end is what you don't want to do... which is use your whole body to push the wait up you want to use your feet and your legs to push the weight up/drive the weight up not using your chest and shoulders to do that too.

Not true, this actually helped me out because I was doing exactly what he was saying which was holding the weight on my shoulders and traps instead of putting the weight into my feet and legs which are what I'm training on this machine in the first place
Just go be certain: are hack squats those squats which are done via a machine as opposed to using a barbell, or other types of free weights ??? Or is it more than this ???? Thanks.
