My favorite part so far is when you get to Scylla, one of her dialogs is how she and her band were making a new song called "We will Claw (Out your eyes and drown you)" and during the boss fight that song ACTUALLY plays in the background. 10/10 love my murderous singer fish wife.
After spending hundreds of hours in the first game, my first two hours here was essentially "why the hell is the dash recovery so long??" "o yea sprint lmao" 10/10 gardening sim
This reads like an IGN review if you swap "hundreds of hours" with "an hour" and leave out the part where they figured out how to sprint. And they would give it maybe 6/10 because it isnt call of duty or fortnite
@@diego9681 I'll just hop on to the second one... I started playing not long after playing the fires one and the movement mannerisms were getting in the way. It's better to just learn the new movement mechanics.
Bruh you know “early access”‘ means it’s a complete game right? It’s not “early development”. Stop having low standard just because those money grab publishers keep feeding you garbage. Having a bug-free game is the benchmark, that’s like you visit a restaurant and rave about their food is cooked and not served raw
@Thekidisalright not really, the game is playable but definitely not complete. There are tons of placeholder sprites (keepsakes, Narcissus, Echo etc) and a couple of missing weapons/tools, and the dialogs are still subject to change with some being added/removed. Some boons are stupidly broken as well balance-wise

I know we are all excited for the game, but holyshit that jazz sound track is ELITE!!! It feels mysterious and hypnotic at the same time and yet still sound distinctly jazz, perfect for a game about a witch.
apparently it's Erin Yvette doing Scylla's voice, though I don't know if that applies to singing too though Ashley Barrett's still there as one of the other Sirens
this game is just going to be hades 1 but with a female character also the storyline is slighty worse than the first one... they kind of underdelivered
@@aTypicalGabriel The story is less compelling and the artwork is a step back from the first, imo. It's early access, so I can kind of handle the blaringly obvious balance issues (Looking at Aphrodite being the only good Attack and Damage buff atm by the numbers). But the artwork and the character butchering? Nah, man. They did Nemesis and Hephaestus dirty. Helia's in black face, too. smh
It's wild that with a game this good, half the discussion i've seen is people bitching and moaning about how many black people and muscular women there are Like good god man just enjoy the game

@@JustMooshie it took a little 60 hours total the 1st time. This time around i made sure to max out my relationship with achiles and patroclus, but i'm having a hard time getting sisyphus to spawn at all. Its gonna be awhile... still fun though

The non charged special attack on the umbral flamed feels extremely strong (though you xant stagger enemies, it’s amazing for trash mob hoards and bosses)

The sirens were a roadblock for me, but once I beat them, I never died anywhere short of Chronos (excluding experimenting with new weapons). Never even died to Cerberus once. No clue how. He feels so easy, honestly.
If you plan on streaming more sessions, can you move your portrait to the right so we can see your whole build :)? Also you should try a full Apollo build, his boons are BONKERS good!
Was awesome watching your “spin to win” build with the axe live. Getting two “quicker channeling” things back to back and just being able to charge up instantly was clutch. Can’t wait for this game to drop!

Looks good visually, didn't play the 1st game but looks like it might be worth trying, looks fun and isn't like a reused formula, will probably be a new and fun experience and it looks well made
My only criticism to the game is the sprint mechanic, hit boxes and difficulty. With sprint, you have less . now, it’s not necessary bad and I know that many people don’t mind it. but personally, I think it doesn’t fit well in high octane fast pace action game like Hades. As for the difficulty, it’s not a big problem for me but it is for my younger sister. in Hades, it took two runs for her to defeat Meg. in Hades 2, it took almost 24 runs for her to defeat Hecate simply because she took too many chipped damage from mobs. these mob are waay too strong for early game. and my gosh, the armor ! the armor is a lot harder to break than the previous game. Lastly, hitboxes. some attacks in this game have very very janky hitbox. for example, Scylla, her ground AoE attack is bigger than it seems. then we have a dog, the claw attacks have waaay too large hitbox compare to the telegraph animation. and grandpa’s attack is just pure insanity. Outside of that, this game is an 11/10 for me. exceed my expectations in almost every way. I don’t deserve this game, honestly. I bought the game and still feel like I just robbed them.
Its more of a "taste" and "option" The game tries different thing. Like imagine if all souls game feels like demon souls. Sekiro wouldnt happen, bloodborne deffinitely will never be made. Yes people will hate how sekiro and bloodblorne change the regular dodge roll but the devs want to try these stuff AND ITS GOOD. Even DS2 have their own dedicated fans with it's nonsensical level design and clunkiness In Hades 2's case most weapon is more magic-like feel. Tarots, magic staffs, torches, etc. Even the axe have AoE range attack. Compared to Hades 1 which is more physical sword, spear, shield, bow, etc thats why dodging and sprint attack have more i-frame
1:47 shame they still havent sorted out the nonsensical hitboxes of enemy attacks. At no point, not in any frame does anything from the mob that kills him, actually touch his character hitbox. The 1st game had the same issue.
Please watch Shad’s review of Hades 2 where he admits he’s never played the first or second game and wants people to boycott the game, then later on says “I’m not cancelling them I’m just saying don’t give them your money.” It’s such a weird video, him and his milktoast Mormon buddy go on to talk about a bunch of random shit but mostly it’s them mad about how characters in games aren’t sexy anymore or whatever.

The point is that having organic diversity is perfectly A-Ok, but injecting it without concern for the narrative causes a jarring disconnect between expectations and reality. Greek Gods generally aren't obese and diseased, and the consistency of these art decisions clearly seem to spin a tailored narrative, not merely a few stray design decisions truly intended to promote diversity.

I've been waiting for the release date to be announced and then got excited when I heard about the early access. However I think I will refrain from picking it up now as with the early access there's no achievements, the ending hasn't been added yet along with the other content they plan to be slowly adding in increments to have the player base review. Man, just recently I revisited Hades 1 and allthough it is one of my favorite games (300h+), I didnt like coming back too my old save and restarting from 0 wasnt satisfying either because of the out of raid progression system being op and taking ages to lvl. I was super exited of Hades 2 regardless, but the fact that they perfectly adressed the 1 minor issue ive had with Hades 1 is making this an instant classic for me.

For some of them it's probably that the guy characters are sexualized too, and that's woke to them. There's no knowing what goes on in the mind of people who still unironically use the word "woke."
Charlie needs to use his cast xD It took me a while to get used to but I've had most success so far with a good cast boon plus one of the others that lets you aim your cast
