Welcome back to another woodcarving! This time we are carving a heron out of maple and joining it to an Ash stick. Carved, shaped and sanded the head but kept the stick itself a little more natural for a contrast. Also something different is to paint the carving, not something I normally do but it looks really good on this one. Finished with Teak oil and polyurethane for protection and a little shine.
Hope you like the carving. I liked it and enjoy the shape, very comfortable for walking.
