I tried out the quest hand tracking, and it’s pretty fun if you’re just standing there, but it makes moving around and selecting things harder than they should be.

Tip for people who want to access their emotes/expressions without switching to controllers 1. In VRchat, open the quick menus using your thumb and index finger on your left hand. 2. On the left or right side of your quick menu, pinch and select one of the wing panels. 3. Scroll inside the wing panel until you find “Expressions” and select it You should be able to change your expressions without having to switch to your controllers

i actually love the quests hand tracking ! its not the best way to play vr chat, but extremely immersive and good for hanging out. plus u can jus pick up controllers if u suddenly need them. honestly kinda slick~

Forget advanced haptics, I just want glove controllers.

1:29 I used to use Leap Motion Tracker to track my hand while my phone connects to my PC as my first "VR headset", it was much jankier than it needs to be, everything is being held together by several different drivers and tapes. I played a good few hundred hours of VRChat using that...

Istg this was already a thing when I first got my refurbished quest 1 for $200. And then it just wasn’t an option anymore. I had messed with the settings and found the emulate controller option or whatever it was and when I put my controllers down inside VRChat, it just worked. Really strange how it went away for a while.

Technically, there is at least one method to get an emulation of Quest hand tracking for PC. I don't know if there are other options, but if you use ALVR, it's a wireless PCVR streaming app, it has an option to simulate Valve Index controllers, and that supports finger tracking. I don't think you can press any buttons or anything, but at least you got hands! If you use the quick toggle feature of the Quest, where you tap your controllers together twice to turn on hand tracking, then you can just drop them and hope you got your safety wrist strap on, you have a quick way to swap between hand tracking and controllers. Last time I tried this, there were some issues, like the grip button not actually detecting being fully pressed, but I think those are fixable with controller bindings settings.

What are your thoughts on the Contact gloves from DiverX? Might be right around the corner

I play alot of vrchat and wanted a headset with tracking features but I am not sure if the meta quest will even be good because i do also playfully fight my friends

I dont think its a decate away u tecknicaly just need glives with tubes that got sensores and a wire running though or a a sensore that dedects how much the string is pulled tracking how much fingers are bend with a wrist tracker thst detects place and rotation of the hand finger tip sensore that dezects spreading its simple but expensive to execute

I was curious about Leap Motion, but I guess users need to make custom mounts to the headset or make a chest mount? I don't happen to have a 3D Printer guess I have to pass. Might be neat for people doing content while seated by a table though I guess.

pleeqaaase somebody just tell me why my headsets tracking is so fuckiNg awful my hands are constantly spazzing out and if i move them at all it loses tracking its literally always been like that too i thought it was the same for everyone for a pretty long time until i saw it actually being used i mean i got it at launch not like i could return it and swap it for a new one
