I first experienced the uplifting power of Slide in a Bennet Phoenix 8sr, so we're talking the 70s. I was the first time I watched my wingtips flexing SO much that I was certain they'd break off - we had chutes by then. It's a flight I survived and will never forget. It's also the site that I first saw the UP Comet fly and after that my life with a double surfaced gliders began. Good times and great memories.
I could say the same thing because my first flight Was in 1974 under ( deltaplane) then i fl flow under " mouette " then albatros and finished by "master ( 70% of double sail) very nice souvenirs
Ha! I flew there in '92 or '93, on my way up to Lakeland. Just my group of a few going over that guardrail (is this really a launch site?), personally getting flushed initially but recovering to up on top, and running along and above the peaks with spectacular views of Lake Tahoe.
Too many did. Not much was known back then. But picture yourself soaring in magic air and 10 ft off your wing is a brace of BALD EAGLES wanting to play. One can't buy those experiences.
"wind-noise saturated cellphone mic" is not the alternative. The ideal is a well muted mic so there's no noise, but slight wind sounds and atmospherics: voices, birds, nothing irritating like this 'music' that has no relation to the video.
garbage music... and not much flying...down in Mexico... never had it so bad... pack your bags... with some decent music... next you're down in Mexico.
