"No good deed goes unpunished." In his closing arguments, defense attorney Matthew Tucker said Hannah Payne was just trying to do the right thing after a traffic accident and never intended to shoot and kill Kenneth Herring. Payne, 25, faces a possible life sentence for shooting Kenneth Herring in the abdomen when she was 21.

A lot of criminal defense attorneys know their client is guilty. The fact that Hannah was 21 years old when this happened is NOT a factor imo. At 21 I was working full time as a registered nurse. I wouldn't have followed a vehicle involved in a car crash after running thru a red light. That is the responsibility of Law Enforcement. Two witnesses testified that Hannah was enraged. Yelling "get out of the fu**ing car, moth**fu***r" repeatedly. She chose to involve herself in a car crash that she had no part in. Perhaps she needs to consider not carrying a firearm until she deals with her violent temper, rage towards others & involvement in a situation that was none of her business.🕵️‍♂️👮🚔

I heard her on the video saying "Get out of the fu**ing car" and I was in shock! Is she a cop wannabe? What was she trying to accomplish? That wasn't her place to point a gun at him or demand he exit the car as she is not law enforcement. I do feel a little bit of sympathy that a young person has thrown their life away but I can't stop wondering, what on earth was she thinking?

Another Black 65 yr old man in GA who was chased down by a White person ( woman ) in a vehicle with a gun who had no authority to do so, especially for a traffic violation that she wasn't a part of. The 911 operator told her not to chase after the guy but she continued to do so and then confronted the elder gentlemen which led to her pointing and firing a Springfield DX 9 millimeter handgun into his abdomen , killing him. This is the same story that happened to Ahmad Arbery ,also a Black man that was chased down by 3 White men (,the McMichaels) in a pickup with a shotgun while on foot and murdered for going inside an empty house under construction that didn't belong to them. Hannah Payne got life in prison. 30 years is a life term in Georga. Those who committed serious violent felonies on or after July 1, 2006, must serve 30 years before being eligible for parole. Life in prison is mandatory for murder in Georgia. She got 30 years plus 13 years. That is 43 years. She will be eligible for parole when she is 68 if she does the 30 + 8+ 5.

To the Herring family. I am watching the trial from Ontario Canada. I was very touched by your brother. He did not die in vain. If he hadn't died, I would not have known what a great man he really was while he existed on earth. Ken's life on earth has touched many people.

What a BS argument. 1) He never explained why she cut him off preventing him from driving forward when she was supposed to only follow him. 2) He never explained why she decided to exit her vehicle. 3) He never explained how she got close enough to get into a physical altercation with someone that never exited their vehicle.

Even if everything he said is true, getting yourself into a situation where the other person could pull the trigger already seems overboard, especially when you consider the authorities typically dont want the public that involved. I like that people in the public try to help officers, but i dont like untrained undividuals pulling guns in situations that dont need em.

She pursued and trapped a man, everything that happened as a consequence of HER actions alone. She is a loose cannon literally with zero judgment. She shot and killed a man, if she didn't pull her weapon, Mr. Herring would be alive today. A man lost his life because of Payne and should suffer consequences because she should have known better but defied officials telling her to return to the scene because she was nothing more than a witness and witness don't chase down a fender bender and kill him. Geeze, she should have pleaded out.
