Wow, Kiteman will forever go down in history one the of most wholesome character development I've ever seen. It's sad that he didn't get his happily ever after. But at the same time, he knew that in order to accomplish that, he needed to cut ties with Ivy. I think he knew what was best for Ivy, Harley, and himself and he wasn't gonna play chicken with it. Bravo, Kiteman, bravo!
I just love the brutal honesty he has with himself. He fully acknowledges that he does love Ivy, but he can’t bring himself to marry someone he loves if they don’t love him too. He respects her and himself too much for that and wants what’s best for both of them. As a villain he’s not one of the greats, but if you take the suits and powers away he’s easily one of the greatest people in the show. He’s good at reading people, is conscious of others emotions, and has confidence in spades.
This episode was beautifully written. It shows all the characters development, without compromising them or making questionable decisions. All the characters did what they had to do without losing their humanity. It was difficult to pull it off and make a cohesive story, but they did it. I could not have asked for a better ending, tho I hope there is a season 3. Considering the question mark at the end, it seems not even the producers know if their will be another season.
The whole show has been very well written, which is refreshing because most movies and TV shows are either written by idiots or ruined by studio meddling these days. My favourite writers on this show are Tom Hyndman and Adam Stein but kudos to Sarah Peters for this finale too. I personally like the Season 1 finale more as an overall episode but this is a good ending. I just hope it's not THE ending because there's still plenty of stuff they can do with these characters if they get another Season.
honestly my main concern was if they were gonna dick over kiteman (who is honestly a neutral hero and the best) but im glad it was his choice to break it off. and he understood what was happening
Even better, it's when he finally gained a sense of self-respect and decided to make a hard decision for himself. I think the Kiteman after this series finale is going to be a hell of a guy compared to the one before. He's grown and gained a sense of self-actualization that's super empowering.
God damn that was a fantastic finale I did not expect kiteman to pull a complete 180 on us but it’s to be expected especially after all that and now season two has its happily ever after and now they have to renew Harley Quinn for season three
Cameron McEwen Truth to that, Gordon ruined everything just so he could look bigger!!!!! No doubt he will be replaced by Harvey Bullock as Commissioner.
What fucking dignity, he started off as a sleezeball, took advantage of Ivy weakness. Did nowt but whine and cry and when he found out that’s Ivy cheated he didn’t stand up for himself. Only marrying her because she got him what he wanted. The wedding was never about Ivy it was about what he thought was ideal in his eyes. Only decent thing he has done is walked away, but that’s only because of Gordon, if Gordon didn’t go gung ho, he would of still married Ivy even though he knew it wasn’t what she wanted.
Anyway,im glad they doesnt do my boy Kiteman dirty. He finally stand up for himself.Still gentleman till the end and think the best for all of them.I hope he found his own girls soon.GO KITEMAN!
LMAO he won't ever find anyone else. Miracle that ivy was desperate enough to put up with him in the first place(mostly because she was lying to herself). He's a loser Z-List villian who was forced upon the audience in a shitty love triangle as a foil to Harley. He's a trope and a terrible one at that.
Sober_PopTurt did a man with a kite on his back touch you as a kid or something? Like for real this is a lot of animosity for one of the better characters in the series. Unless your one of the people who only don’t like kite man because he spends a majority of the time being more relatable and showing more growth than the leads of the show. If that’s the case then pop off I guess, dude. Just a kinda weird hill to die on.
@@A-RedHerring Jeez, what is with you and some others for hating on a character this much? Cause it's always the same comment about that Ivy was ether desperate, Kiteman was a "Nice Guy", Kitemans a loser etc. I don't exactly get it, like I understand not liking a character but out right hating on him to this extent? What's the deal here?
I just love how kiteman delivers that "fuck you" that just shows he is just done with harley and all of this shit. And rightfully so. His fiance cheated on him with her best friend (twice) who has belitled him since day one even After discovering the two were dating Saved her life (twice) and tried to be nice to her anyway.and all he gets is getting his wedding ruined (twice tecnically) by that point i would be far done as well
@weed#2 yeah but Ivy did developed feelings for him in the long run , im not saying that I wanted the two to stay together it was obvious ivy and harley would hook up eventually. Im just surprised kiteman managed to go for this long
@weed#2 ok no one deserves to have their wedding ruined because they wanted to marry someone, end of the day it’s up to ivy to say no and cut him off, yeah everyone can see from a mile away she didn’t like him
@weed#2 doesn’t give ivy or Harley any right to treat him that way, just dump him or literally murder him(they are villains anyway) to get him to leave you alone, idc how shitty a person is no one deserves to get cheated on there’s always the option to walk away, let alone kiteman who besides her not being attracted to him treated both of them very well
the beauty is that in the batman cartoon the first time they met they left the scene with a pink car saying! ah, and the beginning of a very close friendship! and here in my opinion it is no coincidence, they took the reference by reconnecting the first exact time of the beginning of everything
This show is just amazing. The plot developed realisticly, It didn't just go off with what the fans wanted because that wasnt natural for the show. Also gordon jumped into that car like an athlete And tbh I wouldnt mind if the show ended here. Also anyone got some lyrics of the opera gotta know what it means
Honestly, series could end there and I would be happy. Because, let's face it, writers hate lasting relationships. Next season would probably have them break up for a dumb reason and then play around with having them get back together again. Would get old and annoying fast.
the producers said last fri that they not breaking them up or putting drama between them if they get green light for sea 3. They want to tell their story of them being happy and IVy learning to open up her heart more.
Pretty much what Ironshadow said. The producers said they wanted to keep Ivy and Harley a couple and not have the question of “will they remain a couple?”... so even if a season 3 isn’t greenlit, that still gives me ease of mind knowing they’re together for the long run.
Honestly, the way they put Harley & Ivy together puts a bad taste in everyones mouth cause thier relationship started out of cheating. Everyone would've been ob board with this relationship if ether A. Kiteman treated Ivy the same way Joker treated Harley Or B. Ivy just cut contact with Kiteman after Joshuas party and never talked to him again. The very fact that thier relationship was because the writers turned Kiteman into a stepping stone of thier relationship just makes this show have bad writing.
1. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are definitely a cute couple as from the beginning of this show to now and their chemistry is definitely quite fantastic to watch. 2. On the bright side for many fans of Kite-Man, at least he managed to find the right woman for himself in the third episode of Season 3.
And there ya have It folks, they lived Happily Ever After all this time, we get a time skip of them being older with kids, and still on the run from Gordon and the rest having their own story to tell; see ya In Season 3!
It might be a little tricky to get the kids dynamic involved. First off, biology (obviously). Second: adopting kids is already difficult enough, and I highly doubt the system would foster kids off to a pair of supervillains. Then again, Ivy could always pull off some BS plant kid cloning thing with her and Harley’s combined DNA, similar to something that happened in one of the comics. I could be wrong.
Nice that my man Kite man went out on his own terms. Dude finally gained some self-respect and did what would be best for everyone. Hope he shows up again or gets his own spinoff
Everyone thinks about season 3 but all I want is a kite man series where he goes through a journey to find his true goal in life and the respect he deserve.
For as bad as Kiteman had it, I'm glad he did decide to finally end things on his own terms. He's persistent and optimistic to a fault, but he's not stupid enough to marry someone he knows wouldn't be happy with him. I just hope that by the series' end, he DOES manage to find someone who loves him like that. Who knows? He could be bisexual too and find a nice man.
In a way, part of me wants this show to end here, its a perfect ending really. Kite-man grew and was honest about himself and didn't want to make the mistake of marrying someone who didn't love him the same way back when they had eyes for someone else, and it took guts to admit that. Its pushed Harley and Ivy finally into being something people wanted to see for a long time. Theres been several character arches wrapped up, so it should end here. But another part of me just wants to see one final season of these characters, and see some stories get wrapped up in funny and satisfying ways. Heck if this season just had a couple more episodes it might have managed to.
@@Commander23c if they show some respect their have kite man find someone who respects him, because let's be serious, it was NEVER going to work out between him and ivy.
Difference between character development and a relationship that is not forced compared to the last of us 2. Magnificent end of season I hope a third season comes out.
When they say that this show was only for "female" feminists always remind king, doctor freeze and kiteman. The best examples of men who can respect themselves and women Which is what true feminism is
Mr Freeze and Kiteman both let themselves get screwed over by partners who it turned out didn't really care about them. Mrs Freeze mourned his death by excitedly banging strippers. Ivy was smooching Harley 90 seconds later. I'm having a really hard time seeing how this is within a hundred miles of a wholesome message.
@@dgd947a15fl Nora is grieving Victor's death. People have different ways of doing that, including doing everything they can to get their mind off it. You saw how devastated she was after he passed, wailing and holding his body there on his deathbed. Plus, Victor wanted to cure her illness so that she could live life. What's she supposed to do? Just be miserable forever? That's not what Victor would have wanted and there's nothing that implies Maxie is anything more than basically a sex toy for Nora, and certainly nothing that puts him anywhere near the level of love she and Victor had for each other.
Season 3! Please, let there be Harley Quinn: Season 3! Season 3! Season 3! This show deserves more seasons. I don’t want Harley Quinn to end. There are many more chaotic adventures in store for ❤️ Harley & Ivy 💚 and we want to see them! ♦️🌱 Please, renew Harley Quinn! I deserve this. We all deserve to see, and hear the best news for Harley Quinn: Season 3!
And...every little touch is perfect, from Kiteman's epic breakup speech to the operatic aria by Clayface underscoring the action to Harley and Ivy jumping into the 'Just Married' car and taking off. This was superb character development without dumbing it down for anyone or compromising any of the characters. I hope this isn't the end of the series, but if it is... What a way to go!
Kiteman always deserves the best, and it’s amazing to watch him go through personal growth and realize than himself and have the courage to tell ivy no. 🙂🙂
Well, that is unfortunate. Ivy and kiteman was a well written relationship. Minus his suburban future payout I really could see them as a genuine couple. While ivy and Harley is barely written out. It kinda just seemed to force Ivy and Harely together. I would appreciate the shipping better of it had abit more substance to it rather Harely freaking out over loosing a friend and being able to get what she wants. I was really rooting for kiteman here. He did deserve better
The first time I saw kite man I was like “are they for real making kite man a thing 😂” but he’s actually like a legit wholesome guy, and yeah they probably had that happen just so harley and ivy can be together but at least they made kite man someone who can sound in character when he breaks up with ivy, you know?
well they pulled the only move they could to not screw him over which is making Kiteman be the one to end it, never thought the Harley Ivy end game would ever make me feel this hollow.... I normally root for it but here it felt.... both not good yet right at the same time
This ending is simply perfect. It shows how a gay relationship can actually be well done without a man being completly forgotten, left in the trash. Ngl, i though kiteman was gonna end up like most man these days in tv series/films/games...but HELL NO he didn't, he literally said "Ight, this is it, both of you, fuck off, I'm done". Simply perfect
Wait, what's that? An LGBT relationship that DOESN'T feel forced? Guess I finally have something to silence the crowd that goes "you just hate the gays" when I point out how a lot of the attempts at representation end up getting botched. Also, good on Kiteman! He deserves the best!
Hmm except that Harley on multiple occasions bothered Ivy to be with her because Harley has been nothing to Ivy but a selfish cunt and btw this isn't "Oh you hate the gays" if Kiteman wasn't used as a stepping stone for Harley & Ivy to get together then everyone be for it.
I know season 3 is happening but this would have been a perfect end. The entire show was set around Harley moving on from Joker and finding her own identity. Later in the season she realised she didn't even want to be evil. She just wanted to be with Ivy. A perfect ending and a perfect redemption arc of sorts. And ace character development for both characters. I am glad we're getting a season 3 and am excited for it to come out but this really would've been the perfect note to end the series on.
These writers are brilliant. They were only given 2 seasons at first and had no idea that the show was going to be renewed, so they made the most of every episode.
I feel really bad for him but I'm proud of Kiteman. Letting go of someone isn't easy or fun and it definitely hurts but understanding the other person doesn't love you as much as you love them and you have to do what's best for you and your feelings is necessary. I can 100% relate to his situation. Ivy really is a piece of work f'real.
I love how 90% of the comment section is just giving kiteman props for standing up for himself, as opposed to the actual focus of the video, being Harley and Ivy. Y’all got tired of the predictable pairing that fast? Goddamn 😂
This was perfect. It makes me want a season 3 so bad. But also this was a perfect ending to the season and to the series if they never made a season 3.
