Recently my daughter was diagnosed with hemochromatosis which the doctor who was not British told us through gritted teeth that it was called the “Celtic curse”, I of course knew this because my ancestry is Scottish. Funny how biology and genetics don’t lie and don’t go woke.
When Morgoth says a throw-away line like "...tolerance and inclusivity and all that shite" my heart sings. Morgoth Hate Reading the Guardian: We are Dante to his Virgil as he leads us through the circles of Hell. And a priceless guide he is too.
This is how inclusive the snp are ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qUCFDzzZLKI.html It was the speech that made me think wtf are we doing here?
I'd love to sit in a little Northumberland pub with him, sinking some Exhibition, it would remind me of my Prudhoe days. I would love to listen to him thinking out loud, he could insult me too, it's all part of the craic, and, frankly, I'd be offended if he didn't
Jenkins is not only a declinist he positively revels in it. Smug ,conceited , self loathing and full of himself. All the attributes of a guardian columnist.
The last time i read anything by him i felt solidly nauseous for an hour afterwards. And it says something that i remember it because this was a good ten years ago
Was in a bar today..the staff wore 'no justice,no peace' T shirts and it sold 'rainbow cake'..in the corner were two old fart retired teacher types reading the guardian. It was nauseating.
For those journalists (if one can indeed describe as such) who exist and work in the metropolitan cess pits, is there any wonder they can’t understand an English identity?
It's depressing listening to most Americans discuss various European ethnic identities. It's like their brains can't comprehend the notion that European national identities are based on ancestry and genetics. With non-European groups they understand the concept of exclusive ethnic/national identity perfectly. When you highlight that double standard, they almost invariably pivot to an attempt to subvert/deconstruct European ethnic identity and indigeneity itself. They are programmed to deny the existence of any identity for Europeans that isn't based on liberal globalist inclusivity. It's quite a chore to get them to break that programming.
This question has been bothering me since I heard of the SNP the first time. Why does Sturgeon want to wrestle power from the UK when, as soon as she gets it, she's going to hand it to the EU. The only answer I've managed to come up with is that she just has an irrational fear of the english.
So they can replace Scottish people faster and with more Africans and Muslims using the EU and also it's a gravy train of free money for them for replacing Europeans
I don't think that she really wants it. There is a massive fiscal blackhole that she has presided over, with independence she can't blame Westminster. She is probably hoping for a spot on the eu commission but it will take years for Scotland to meet the criteria to join and Scotland will go through massive upheavals first
I wonder what Nicola would say if you asked her the following. If a wealthy Englishman born and raised in England to English parents decides to buy a house in Scotland does he become a Scott? I’m guessing she would instinctively say no because he’s A wealthy and B English. Yet if asked the same question about a Somalian “refugee” she would answer yes because “we are an inclusive country. “
She has answered that question, and her answer was "yes". Nicola gets a hard time, and rightly so, she's a div, but she is just a tool. Nationalists talk about her like she's Stalin or something, when in fact Scotland has shown that it is willing to kick out parties it doesn't like. People used to say Labour would never lose in Scotland, but they were wiped out a few years ago (their leader hasn't won an election since 2010 and is only there through election maneuvering). Large parts of Scotland have gone from Tory to SNP, to Labour, back to Tory etc over the last 50 years. My hopes for Scotland are far brighter than those for England.(Scotland is still 97.5% huwyte, while England is now about 78%)
@@BuJammy I guess you have at least got the weather on your side few peoples of a swarthy decent can weather the weather up there. But Nicola would have you back in the EU before you could blink an eye.
@@BuJammy England is much lower than 78% English. That figure includes Wales, which completely skews the figures and it also includes the descendants of the 2 million or so Eastern Europeans. England is likely much closer to the 50% mark than we'd care to acknowledge.
@@BuJammy jesus I hope England is still 78% huwite I think theres some obfuscation at play & now the diverse 2nd generation is classed as English born & bred
How did Scotland get away with charging English and Welsh students tuition fees, while at the same time allowing any students from Europe free tuition? Imagine the outrage there would have been in Scotland if England did the same to the Scots - they’d still be calling us racist today - and the bbc would agree with them, but not a peep about Scotland
Similar bs happened to Serbia within Yugoslavia, but the audacity of the "opposers" was merely compounded by laying down ever more complaints and demands.
I watched one of Academic Agent's recent offerings yesterday. In it there was an examination of HSBC's woke attempt to present Britain as a non-culture, a non-nation. This was in their advert that claimed that Britain is, instead, all nations. Someone in the comments made the point that all those nations mentioned in the ad - Columbia, Sweden, India, Belgium, etc., etc. were awarded nationhood within the notions of the advert, but not Britain. We are told Britain is a mere amalgamation of everyone else. I casual observer of the advert, even one that might be irritated by its premise, might easily overlook this particular piece of perversity. But once it strikes you, you can suddenly see how deadly the situation is, that we have found ourselves in
As an Irish Republican from Belfast who was brought up in the old traditional ways I genuinely have nothing in common with the Irish or Scottish independence movements. I’m completely disillusioned and detached from that whole world now. This is a perfect synopsis of the situation as usual cheers morgoth.
White people have to forget our petty grievances. We face a much larger problem now and we can only survive if Nationalists of different countries chain up and fight globalism
@Brian Óg MacGabhann As a Scottish Unionist from Glasgow, with family in Belfast, I feel completely the same way friend. Both the leaders of Unionism & Republicanism have long abandoned any pretence of actually representing the communities they’re supposed to defend.
@@kw8831 I am Irish , a nationalist and even the world has gotten so batshite insane ,that I see myself sort of admiring any group that says no to globalisation the empty consumerism the deracination and constant hypocrisy. I actually was happy they pulled out of Afghanistan. I was happy for them they went packing. I admire some up the north who pushback on our extremely pozzed government ,yeah I'm talking about unionists ! And I've had relations who lets say fought for Irish unity. We are truly up there with sweden . They hate us all , we should if we get through this have a good balance between local power and European brotherhood. Ireland and Britain should be separate countries , Wales and Scotland too because we are different nations and even within those nation states power should be more local. On the bigger scale given our shared history and similar cultures , even blood we should be in some sort of union . One that works for protecting the islands , shared military and industrial might . One that shares technical and scientific research etc Hold it in the Isle of Man sure too why not . London is the epicenter for many of our collective demises. At this rate I wouldn't like to see the north come back into a united Ireland because the Irish government is rotten to the core .At least up north , despite all its obvious troubles , it feels more authentic like there is a national identity there . We are basically one of the main posterboys for "modern" values , we are one of the most pozzed countries on earth . Long term if we ever get out of this , I'd like to see a better relationship with our neighbour. A system with strong local power, less centralised and based on mutual defence ,trade and recognition of true diversity in the indigenous peoples of our islands.
Same as Sinn Fein here. both are like cookie cutter globalist "nationalist" parties. espousing the same globohomo slogans - live here, work here, belong here etc.
Pretty damn close to the truth...Morgoth is definitely one fine man, and fine Northerner too, he probably has little idea what beautiful fresh air he sweeps into many many people's mind's by making his content.. god bless the man..
Thanks for this Morgoth. It made me think of Roger Scruton's characterisation of the 'somewheres' and the 'anywheres' , those rooted in context, place, landscape, peoples, versus those anywheres like Simon Jenkins, who float free of such considerations, to whom place doesn't matter - Brussels or London or Amsterdam , the more similar they all are the better. It's clear that the anywheres just cannot fathom the devotion and connection so many of us have to home, family, tradition, custom.
A Pedant Writes: The distinction between "somewhere"s and "anywhere"s was not Roger Scruton's (although it might otherwise well have been!) but was actually made by David Goodhart.
There's an excellent article called "Citizens of Nowhere" by Paul Kingsnorth that sums up the 'anywheres' well. It was written several years ago, but it's probably out there on the web.
I've had cause to talk to the 'anywheres' for a couple of years now and I think you're absolutely right. They're in "the UK" until it's more attractive for them to be somewhere else.
The modern subversion of Nationalism in Wales and Scotland is disgusting, up until only a few decades ago Welsh nationalism had an ethnic component, with the founder of Plaid Cymru and the Welsh Nationalist Movement in the 20th century, Saunders Lewis, was a massive traditionalist and a Catholic, who said that the Welsh language was the method in which civilisation in Wales is preserved
Sturgeon says she is embarassed by the word “Nationalist” in her party's name. The SNP isn't a nationalist party in the usual sense. It is just a means of enforcing socialism in the area known as Scotland.
Yes, these serpents are masters of word games. That's why she says "People of Scotland rather than "Scottish people" in other words, if you're just off the boat from Somalia, you've just as much right to be here than someone who's ancestors fought for The Bruce.
To the SNP, to 'ScotNats,' to default-setting, central-belt socialists, the defining feature of being Scottish = being more left wing than the English.
So-called Scottish nationalists would mock an American guy with the surname MacKenzie who has Scottish great-grandparents on both sides for calling himself Scottish, yet scream blue murder if anyone dares suggest that an Eritrean or Iranian who's been in Scotland for a few weeks isn't as Scottish as you or I. These arseholes can be found in abundance on r/Scotland and r/Glasgow. As you point out, their desire for Scottish independence isn't borne of the ingenuity of the Scottish people but on a hatred of Thatcher/the Tories/the English. As if hatred of someone/something is a strong basis for a personal character trait, let alone a national one. It's a shame, as I would be in favour of Scottish independence, just not the type these lunatics would inevitably deliver. Would be a combination of the late Weimar Republic and today's enriched inner-city England.
This is by far the simplest problem to explain but incredibly frustrating to us- in that anything that is suggested by liberals, is just ridiculously flawed and is incredibly easy to find these flaws by just calling them out on their own hypocrisy. One personal example of this is me trying to explain that there is infact a significant difference between ethnicities, lets say for example, between white people and Thai people and there would be an incredibly negative effect if we were to just throw these people together -(one ethnicity would suffer more at the hands of the other, or BOTH). My stubborn liberal friend was having none of it and trying to as predicted say we are all the same. I responded by asking him, Do you believe in evolution? Yes. Do you believe we have evolved from chimps? Yes. Do you believe that some chimps have evolved differently to other chimps? Yes. So you agree there is significant differences in genetics, depending on where we have geographically evolved? Errr no! I then reminded him of the lessons we used to get in primary school about the declining native red squirrel population since the introduction of the non native grey squirrel. I said both squirrels are virtually identical other than the fur colour. He agreed. But I reminded him of the slight genetic advantage the grey squirrel had in terms of physicality. (He sees the point and proceeds on a mad rant saying that I am talking gibberish blah blah blah.) My point is this. We are simply dealing with self indulgent, stubborn, narcissistic lunacy. The problem is simple but you may as well try to convince a potato. There's no getting through to these crazy cunts.
It's simple: if you recognise that (1) children inherit physical traits from their parents via DNA, (2) the brain is a physical organ, (3) personality is created by the brain - then it's completely obvious that the observable physical differences between races might also be accompanied by mental differences. End of discussion.
Smaller the better, closer the power, the more accountability. A city-state or English feudal manor system would be preferable to the expanding hellish Global Governance that stares back at us, beckoning us into a highly unnatural future. I wonder if America really will balkanise and separate. It seems smaller countries are doing better now, compared to larger ones at the beginning of Boomer Truth. Monaco, Lichenstein, Andorra etc hover under the radar.
I still hold that America is Yugoslavia 2.0, albeit with so many different groups this time around that the splintering will be much more profound. England herself will face waves of muslim aggression that will coat the hills with red, but this, alas, is something that needs to happen for the Englishman to excavate his soul from the ground once again.
As always it's a trade of. Representation and local governance or power? The city state can feel more represented, but could be easily wiped out or annexed by the near by empire. A nation state is a nice medium. Stronger than a fiefdom and more stable and easier to handle than a vast empire.
I disagree, we need a proper leader who is solely accountable, one who can't worm out and blame everyone else around him. im sick of this romanticised republicism and democracy, they are just the aristocrats in public servant clothing. at least aristocrats used to be bold about it! For more than a hundred years the conservatives have been at war with the people, dicing up what they can and can't do telling them what they deserve and how THEY will pay for it. Now we get certain countries stating employers have to give their workers the right to work at home? When you don't even have the right to defend yourself! I am reminded more and more everyday of Brazil! the film. Its not so funny anymore.
Eventually they will just designate each country an economic zone that's represented by a number. The only distinguishing feature will be the zones GDP, and culture will be relegated to the exact same global tiktok trend.
True. Majority of Scots (especially in the low lands) have Anglo Saxon blood, but love to cosplay as being Gaelic Scots which their culture is mainly based on Victorian era mythology
Not according to the government. Everyone is just British now. According to the government there are no nations here anymore. That's why they're replacing the people.
Your deconstruction of their balancing act of states being distinct and sovereign but also all being heterogenous, amorphous and sharing the same values is perfect. One of the best takes I've ever heard.
They can always identify nations quite precisely and unambiguously when they're looking for an excuse to blame their own home country for doing some alleged wrong to some other country far away that they don't actually care a whit about.
We have the exact same issue in Quebec with the fraction of civic nationalist separatists that wants Quebec to be independent from Canada to be even more woke than Justin Trudeau’s Canada. “Sure we have the same core values as Canada, but in Quebec we are even more inclusive and green, we can do it mooooore”. No need to say it’s a political dead end that gets almost no traction. In the mean time, what’s left of the separatist movement is getting more conservative by the day.
True story, recounted by Taki in his 'Spectator' column. At some social occasion Simon Jenkins said to the historian Paul Johnson: 'As I get older I am becoming much more left-wing.' To which Johnson replied: 'That's because you're a c**t.' Quite so.
In the future Nicola S will still allow traditional games like the Highland games to continue But the tossing of the caber will not be between a McDonald and mc coy it will be between a trans Somali and a non gendered Afghan
Back into the sewer and into the sewage of mainstream newspapers! Thats all these majors outlets are. Best of luck chap! By the way, the new Jurassic World movie is out and I’ve seen your review on the previous one. Could you do a review on this one or at least reference it in another video or article?
I have never read one article by Simon Jenkins, certainly wouldn't even have my fish and chips wrapped in that newspaper, and in no way am I defending the utter bollocks of what he has written here, but I do love his book England's Thousand Best Churches. Its a great reference guide to have at hand while traveling the canals, mooring up for a few days, exploring those hidden away village and town parishes and old sometimes neglected graveyards.
I am having a hard time paying attention because I keep thinking about the intro...Was that someone gradually descending into a tank of feces? The intro music ends as our hero takes the final plunge--I am amazed.
"These newspaper editors of today, who are the. Do they have to have their thoughts tested against the best minds in the land? No - yet they set public opinion, and that is dangerous." Soren Kierkegaard.
Those who control our countries are very adept in exploiting petty "nationalism". The "nationalist" country in question nearly always ends up trying to out-liberal the perceived "oppressor country", mostly out of nothing but spite. Scotland is but one example. In eastern Europe you see a lot of the same dynamic vis-a-vis Russia (this goes way before the Ukraine war). For example, the Baltics are very openly and proudly flouting their gay pride parades and have become visibly more diverse in recent years, mostly as a statement of being "western and progressive" in opposition to the perceived "backwardness" of their neighbour to the east.
@@thethinredline4714 I know some basques and they are incredibly based. Not the same thing. There is a reason why the Scots got a referendum to achieve independence, meanwhile, the whole EU united to disavow Catalonia.
I hope you do more hate-readings of the Guardian! I practically choked on my avocado toast when I saw the opening titles! You’ve done a man’s work sir!
In the film The Wild Bunch when they are crossing the river to Mexico one of the Gore brothers says that it looks like more Texas to him. Scotland looks like a miserable version of Northumberland.
Their argument for independence amounts to so little I have no rebuttal. There's just nothing in it to mull over. Their first order of business would probably be to stop drilling in the North Sea close all the army barracks. They'd dismantle a third of their economy overnight.
The English are a culturally germanic, genetically Celtic people. Let’s bare in mind, when the Saxons invaded there weren’t airports and ferries. They came over in relatively small numbers and replaced the upper strata of society, effecting a top down change culturally. They didn’t replace the natives. Did they add to the gene pool? Yes of course, but like adding a few drops of red paint to a bucket of yellow, the change is limited. Shall we start saying the people of Mann and Dublin aren’t Celtic because their cities were largely founded by Danes and Norsemen? It’s strange that people are able to mostly understand that the Saxons obviously weren’t replaced by Frenchmen during the Norman invasion, but instinctively believe that the Celts were all herded into Wales by millions and millions of Saxons who were somehow able to come over in such great numbers despite having no access to mass transit.
Wales does have a strong sense of national identity - but it is also suspicious of politicising that identity. Its wacky nationalist party - nominally left, but has all sort in its ranks - barely scrapes into double figures in polls. Wales voted Brexit and only about 40-ish percent turn out to vote in its Assembly elections. The majority have no interest in Welsh politics. The anti devo majority in Wales are not committed to vote. Wales is therefore ruled by a pro EU and woke minority. This was put in place by cretins like Jenkins, who campaigned for Welsh devolution - which was passed with about 25% of the electorate voting for it.
I think the argument is that the people in some economic zones (such as Scotland) are more devoted to globalist values and that they can accelerate progress by temporarily separating themselves from people in slightly more "backwards" economic zones (such as England).
This is what the inevitable outcome is of where I'm from. We have 11 official languages, and each group identifies with this rather than with the country. The nation has dissolved into a country or regional area, that consists of 11 ethnicities. I identify as my group first, from this region.
I support genuine science (when I can find it!), but while there is unquestionably a solid theoretical basis to genetics its misapplication to human individuals and populations is dispiriting to witness. Many a faux-British or even -English nationalist has become embarrassingly bewitched by "DNA evidence" that purports to show improbable lineages for the present population of the UK when the real science simply cannot make the precise determinations claimed for it. As an Englishman I am quite happy to trace my ancestry in these islands back to the arrival of the Angles, Saxons and Jutes halfway through the 5th century AD as related by such Dark Ages chroniclers as Bede, and by much later historians such as Palgrave, Stenton, Whitelock, Blair, etc.; I do not require a fanciful lineage stretching beyond the last Ice Age to stake any territorial claim to England.
