I used to work at Stirling Castle. It is a very spooky place. I certainly had odd feelings in some of the rooms, though I never saw anything. My colleague had once been a night security guard there and she said she had seen all sorts of things - she called them 'her wee friends.' The one that stuck in my mind was that one day we had a re-enactment, with actors dressed as Jacobites. One of them stayed behind with his kids, after the event, to have a look around the castle. At one point he saw them standing against the wall of the stairway to the Elphinstone Tower. He asked them why they were pressed against the wall. They replied 'we're letting the man go past.' There was no one else there. The kids had seen a man dressed like their Dad and thought it was one of the other actors, and as had they had been taught, they stood to the side to let him pass.

It's said children are very sensitive to these things. That would freak me out! Thank you so much for sharing that and for watching!

I've heard there was a pictish fort where Tillicoultry quarry is now, apparently some of the stones from said Fort were used in the construction of stirling Castle

I've heard that too. A lot of the broch was used for walls and sheep pens during the Victorian era, and probably earlier. Such a shame it has been lost. Thank you so much for watching this.

Interesting - also in some manor houses in Latvia we have tale of green ladies' ghosts haunting people, even in relatively recent times. :) Anyway, thank you! As someone who doesn't want to believe in ghosts but is nevertheless terrified by the idea of them, this sent some chills down my spine. :)

A plethora of ghostly apparitions seem to have been seen many times for them to be figments of the imagination, i myself happen to think they are truly there. Knowing the amount of history good and bad that has happened in Stirling in the past it would be sad to think there was no spectre's about. 😢

Some folk believe in the supernatural, some don't, but whichever way you fall, they are part of our folklore.
